You would think that to be true.

From real, on-the-front-line experience, it is not exactly true.

A single misspelled word or three has never negatively-impacted my online sales. People are willing to overlook a few misspellings.

What they are not willing to overlook is dozens of spelling and grammar mistakes. The latter scares people into thinking that you are unprofessional.

The former is simply an overlooked mistake that people are generally willing to forgive.

I stand firm on this idea, because I have written articles that have generated sales, by themselves within three days of publication of the article, in the range of $10k plus. And I did that even with spelling mistakes in the article and the sales landing page.

If your traffic is +100k a day than typo squatting becomes a problem and is best attacked before the squatters get thereId say under 10k and you will spend more to protect yourself than the problem. 10k-100k I would say all depends on the niche particulars. A ton of big companies invest heavily in protecting this area.

I could not agree more, using correct English (and/or whichever language you are selling in) is essential to a good campaign. Obviously a mistake in a word or two won't do much harm, but if you consistently produce low quality content, expect to see a drop in credibility, brand loyalty and sales.

    Just my 2c.

Actually another study showed that people responded more and were more likely to purchase if there were a few mistakes as they new there was a human behind the website so go figure.

Its a psychological thing but I think you should try your best to get it right.

I doubt one mistake cuts sales in half, but consistently bad grammar will certainly harm sales.

Well... a few words misspelled won't harm your business. But if all of your content is full of grammatical mistakes, probably the reader will lose interest in reading your articles.

This way, yes, your business will suffer . This is why you should hire a ghostwriter if you aren't so good at english.
