We are constantly being sold, but what system(s) has made you money?

Every day we see an new WSO, a hot method, better ways to build your list beat the search engines and make those conversions.

Which ones actually work?

I've tried to limit WSO purchases to those that are relevant to my business. I want something that I can realistically implement. I don't want another job, as I'm sure you don't.

That's not to say that I don't expect to work in order to create value and earn my commissions. It's just a matter of separating the real quality information from the stuff that is just rehashed, irrelevant or unrealistic to implement.

I know that there are hundreds of people making money online, and probably thousands more that are trying. In the interest of inspiring and motivating, are you willing to share what has worked for you?

So warriors, what method or WSO have you been able to successfully use to make some money? I'd love to hear some success stories, as I'm sure others would.

Honestly...You have to see what people are doing that works. Usually, when someone is selling you something they'll make it sound like it's much better than it actually is. So, to avoid this, do some digging and find websites of what people are doing that works. For example, if you want to do an adsense site, dig around the net until you find some great examples of sites that serve adsense ads, and replicate some of the things that they do in your own way.

Your personal frustration as evidenced by your comments and your final question are at odds with one another.

It's not about what is working for somebody else that counts for very much since everyone has a different approach methodology to conducting their own business.

What works for somebody else may not necesarily work for you simply because your approach and their approach are quite different from one another. Your business models are different.

Rather than jumping around from one WSO to another find one which works for you and stick with it with a plan of consistent ongoing action.

Simplicity seems to be a common thread here. Find a system that works, refine it and repeat.

That's where my concern is though, if this business is so dead simple, then why are there so many products with such grandiose claims?

There are realistic methods that work, then everything else seems to be rehashed spinoff. The point of this thread was to take a moment to appreciate the quality products people are putting out. Not every WSO creates value, I think we should all acknowledge this.

Fortunately as a member of the war room, I don't have to purchase WSOs and jump from one system to another. I read the methods that other members share and implement them into my own system.

I have a system that I am working on and refining and I know that not every WSO is going to be applicable to my business model. I'm not a fan of CPA, PPC, or relying on Google ads. I want to spend most of my time creating value. That's why rather than deal with managing a campaign, I write articles and develop products.

That's the point of this thread. I know everyone will have something different that works for them. Personally I know that my method will work once I continue to build on my foundation. It's just a matter of time.

In the meantime, I just enjoy hearing what others have done. Who doesn't enjoy a good success story?

Simple. Our community is particularly susceptible to shiny objects. I think the other part is that it sucks fully knowing that the process is essentially simple, but the barrier to entry is the herculean amount of work required. That, and a lack of money... most newbies can't afford to rub two pennies together.

For the past 2 years, I've used only 4 steps for the backbone of my AM endeavors:

        1. Run traffic - Originally from Adwords until I got the banhammer. Now I use...
        2. Capture email addresses
        3. Mail them offers
        4. Rinse - Wash - Repeat

I think people are asking the wrong question.. IMO it's not about a system that makes money for a person, it's about a system that will work for you..

Even if someone is making 1000 dollars a month with a system.. it probally won't work for you the way it does for you.. Everyone is different so you should look into what you are good in.. and as you said you like developping products so if you keep doing that it will become a success, like you said.

Also everybody should be realistic.. most of the claims made in the WSO sections are hyped.. yes they might have made a big amount of money.. but like i said, even if they did it, it won't work for you the same way.. reasons? There are a lots of reasons... but this is not the point of the thread i think...

Think of WSOs as a tool store of sorts. It's a whole section dedicated to teach you methods on how to make money online. Sometimes these methods come with software, usually they are videos or a PDF.

Once you are done consuming that WSO you have now added a new TOOL to your box. In that sense its really no different than going to college. You are educating yourself in the world of internet marketing.

With that new knowledge you can then begin your next project. If your really going into the WSO forum to find a product that is going to turn you into a millionaire than you are misunderstanding its purpose.

If you want to make serious money online you are going to need to treat your methods or techniques as a business. That means if you are into affiliate marketing, you need to treat it like a business. If you are into video marketing, you need to do the same.

Yes internet marketing is full of hype, but so is every other industry on the planet. Hype is part of sales. It's what get's buzz about your product.

"If Joe Blow can sit in his underwear and make thousands per day so can YOU!"

What they don't tell you is that Joe Blow worked his ass off for three years before he reached his thousands per day mark and didn't have to go to his J.O.B anymore--thus he got to stay home and work in his underwear.

Same goes for the weight loss industry.

"Work out just 15 minutes a day, three times a week and have ABS like THIS!"

But they also conveniently leave out the fact that you also need to eat right to attain a truly rockstar body like they show in the commercials.

People don't want to hear that they have to work to get what they want. They want results NOW and are willing to pay for it. The market's simply cater to their desires and nothing else.

How many people do you think could be working in their underwear right now if they actually implemented the stuff they learned?

{Applause!} One of my all-time biggest pet peeves is the statement that "If I can do it, anyone can!" I ABHOR that claim so passionately!!

No, just because YOU can doesn't mean ANYONE can. That's just so much BS it's pathetic and I'd love the slap upside the head every person who says it. It's stupid.

Example, the weight loss industry, yeah, I - at 52 yrs old with multiple medical conditions - can lose weight like a 25 yr old who's never had kids, just by popping a few caffeine overloaded pills that would probably give me a stroke or heart attack. Oh, but because SHE/HE did it, ANYONE can. Get real.

In fact, as soon as I hear that claim with ANYTHING, any product, no matter what it is, I close the browser, switch the TV, mute the TV, tune out the rest of the commercial, whatever it takes, because it is not a realistic claim no matter what the industry is.

There will always be somebody, somewhere who is just NOT ABLE, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, etc., to do whatever it is the person is saying that "anyone" can do. Period.

Okay, thanks for letting me vent on that particular topic.

When I was starting out, I did affiliate marketing using Clickbank. That's where I earned my first dollar. But then I got distracted with other courses, earned some money then move on to the next shiny thing, so on and so forth.

Thankfully, I've stuck with Amazon affiliate marketing for over a year now and its where the bulk of my earnings come from.

The thing is most of these courses work if you put them into action. (I'm referring to courses where you actually have to work vs those that claim you'll earn money in 5 minutes of work). You just have to stick to it long enough for you to see the fruits of your labor.

I think you need to understand that most of these are basically a sample campaign or exactly what the user is doing.

You have to be creative, take what they have achieved and the tricks and approaches they use and apply it to a different niche, product, etc. and add some of your own tricks.

If you're just trying to copy them step-by-step you'll probably only make $5 a day; I think they're meant to be outlines but you still have to have the brains to take that outline and figure out what elements work with your product.

Well basically, I ignore WSOs with income claims. I'm not looking for magic bullets. I look for solid info that will teach me something I want to learn. And I profit from it by implementing that knowledge once I have learned it.

What works for me won't work for everyone because everyone is not interested in what I am interested in. I sell my own products and have zero interest in learning "methods" of making money online, particularly those with the hyped up income claims, fake testimonials, fake income screenshots, etc.

I buy WSO products mostly just to observe the marketing technique of the seller. More often than not, it is much different than what the product is about. Paying close attention to how I'm being sold has far greater value than any of the products themselves. Just buy the products (no matter what it is), and learn from the marketing system(s) that get you hooked.

From what I'm understand, it seems like systems are out and creativity is the way to go.

I like that. BloggingPro stated it well - "WSOs should be considered as tools to carry out a business plan".

As marketers we have so many hats to wear that ideas and actions often get jumbled together. At least for me that is the case. I read and try to learn probably twice as much as I actually take action on.

I think focus is probably the number 1 characteristic needed to stick with a plan. We have such a wealth of information that promises to improve our business, but it won't help if we can't follow through with the action.

Along with working on any system we have to be able to make mistakes in order to refine the appropriate actionable tasks. This only happens if we stick to something, take what works and throw out what doesn't.

I buy WSO's not to get new systems, but to find new ideas and techniques I can use to improve my own system/business.

You will never be able to replicate the income claims of a seller by replicating their system because no one will tell you every detail of a working system.

Most WSO's that I have found to be worth it for me are those that have given me one idea, one golden nugget or helped me save my time by refining a technique I'm already using.

What this post is revealing is quite interesting indeed.

Either A.... People don't want to recommend any one marketer in particular, B.... People don't remember what they have consumed, or C.... WSOs don't ever live up to the hype that is so carefully crafted to make us buy.

I suspect that is a combination of all three.

Many good words of wisdom here - all flowing the age old principles of 'look for what people want and then give it to them'.

Of course, the reason why so many people "flog" systems with income claims in the WSO threads is because that's what many WSO seekers are looking for. Therefore it works.

However, back to the OP; for me, I simply look at what people are talking about; what it is that they're wanting to know more about and then package up a product to help them find it more easily.

Whether you have a brand new concept that no one has seen before or you re-package an existing idea in a new way (even package something existing and make it more accessible), it all comes down to looking first to see if people *want it*.

One piece of advice from someone who has tried all of the 'hot' trending topics to the BS dog training and nonsense niches: Be a fan or expert in Your Niche BEFORE building a money making site. If you thinks you'll be a bigshot in the get rich quick niche or weightloss niche, you're kidding yourself. There are thousands of VERY talented imers in those realms that will eat you for lunch and ask for more. If you are truly an expert in that realm, you might have a shot because you can offer real content that people will recognize as such.

So if you're a gamer, find a subniche in gaming. Know your fantasy football? Go that way. Then give yourself a good 6 months and read every post on here and watch every webinar and podcast to get a strategy that works for you..

For me, it's always been about persistence and then taking what happens in the "experiments" I've done to make a real business plan.

For example: A year ago I had set a goal of writing 1000 articles in 100 days. It was crazy stressful but I did make some decent money. I also blogged about it and it pulled in a lot of people interested in hearing how it was going.

In time, I figured out my writing style and how to easily create content. I took what I learned from the process and started doing freelance writing for clients (some clients were even people that were reading the blog!)

I then took that knowledge and began looking at what I could bridge it to. I started up a little PLR business and I continue to do freelance writing.

I'm also now working on content related to content strategy which I see few people talking about. So, in all, I just took something and ran with it for a while. I learned from my mistakes, figured out what worked, adapted it as my own system and then leveraged it into new market opportunities.

Haven't really found a system per se. I've learned a lot from different courses and resources on places like this forum. I then put it together into a strategy which has some effectiveness and should eventually start to generate at least a decent part time (if not full time) income. I have found no magic pill and all these "secret systems" are for the most part, either a bunch of bull or just a repackaging of the same information you can get for free.

I must echo everything you said.

I've bought a few WSO's and I've actually thought of pulling the best out of each one that's actually had a positive impact on my efforts and combining them into my own WSO and calling it "The Best Of ..."

Primarily what's helped to get several of my pages to PR1 and PR2 rather quickly - and this is in the competitive wedding market, specifically wedding favors:

      1. Solid keyword research. And I've found that by doing a combination of several "the best way" methods works for me.

      2. Lots of content; 450+ word articles of content pages

      3. Inbound links. Again, several methods including in-content link exchanges with other high PR sites; blog commenting, forum participation and article directories.

      4. Twitter - I have that automated and I get some traffic from it here and there.

And more recently I've started using the free version of onlywire.com Comment Kahuna and SocialMonkee to get links.

I also have a static site with a blog installed so sometimes I'll use the blog for a shorter rewrite of an article that's on my static site.

The bottom line though, I think we all have to figure out our own "systems" because what will work for the weight loss or dog training industries, for example, may not work for my wedding, transcription and hockey industries. Completely different target markets there.

CPA stands for Cost Per Action. A CPA network for example is PeerFly. You can promote CPA offers from various advertisers when you sign up as a CPA publisher. You get paid commissions when qualified leads complete the CPA offers you promote on your websites and social networks. Leads must match the qualifications of publishers, such as country of residence, age and so on...

CPA offers can be email or ZIP or sale or download trial CPA offers. Email and ZIP CPA offers require qualified leads to provide their emails or ZIP codes, then complete free surveys and paid or free reward offers to get freebies, discounts, tickets and so on. Qualified leads must purchase CPA sales offers for the publisher to get paid commissions. Qualified leads must download trial versions of CPA download trial offers for the publisher to get paid commissions...

As an example, there is an email CPA offer in PeerFly where qualified leads, US residents aged 18 and above, can get a free brand new iPad 2. They just need to enter their email, complete free surveys and free or paid reward offers to get the brand new iPad 2 totally free of charge. Publishers who promote this CPA offer get paid $1.60 for each qualified lead who enters an email address. I tried to advertise a page of my website promoting this CPA offer in Facebook. They told me they don't allow such ads. I tried targeting Filipino US residents for the ad, since I'm a Filipino, and ad viewership estimate = 200K FB members matching my targeting options. Oh well... So I just went ahead and shared with my FB friends the page of my website where I promoted this CPA offer, and some of my FB Filipino friends in the US completed the CPA offer. I earned $41.60 two days after sharing the page with my FB friends. Perhaps I'll follow up by asking them to share the page to their own set of FB friends...

I'll also try and ask some of my FB friends, particularly those in US universities, to print out coupons promoting the CPA offer, of course with my link in it. I'll ask them to place it in areas within the university campus where a lot of people will see those coupons. I'll pay them to do this, though of course I'll first calculate how much overheads this needs, including printing and their payment, since it shouldn't exceed half of $1.60, ideally. Another idea would be to ask them to promote the link in their university community websites and online forums...

It's very hard to reach your audience online, and even when you do, you must be trusted. What is really helping me is the content I write. I have better results when I give more lessons, and more explanations. This is very tiring, but it is the only way I can convince the public to trust me. There is a fierce competition online...

I also found help by purchasing an automatic pinging tool from a WSO. It helped my websites' traffic increase.

Whenever I bought something from a WSO I was helped, but of course, not always at the same degree.

I cannot tell you that I'm having success because my sales are not regular. My moderate success may show you that you have to pass through many stages until your business may run as it should. Selling something sometimes is not really difficult. What really matters is to keep selling, without interruptions. This is a real business.

Ive made most of my money building and then later selling authority niche sites. I build a new site in a niche that im interested in personally and have adsense and ebay on the site as revenue sources. My best site I sold for $16.5k ( and it made me almost $10k before I sold it - site was 10 months old ) and my most recent site was making me $200 a month after just 6 months and I sold it for $2k.

This is just a "hobby" for me so I dont have the know-how or time to go full blown on promotion and stuff to get them to the next level. I just enjoy the mild success and payments.

LOL if thats what you can do with a 'hobby' site I'd hate to see what you could do if you put some serious time into it!

Good work man. Now can you teach me

It depends but anything that shows you how to run affiliate websites and use seo for commissions always work in the long run.

Identify your customers, ask them what they want and
are willing to pay you for, sell that to them.

Set up a webpage, add an opt-in form, ask people to subscribe
to keep updated on a specific topic, email them on that topic
and include recommendations to products that actually solve
    problems related to that topic.

Buy ANY ebook. Read and analyze it... looking for evidence
of success. If it all passes the logic test, implement what
    it teaches.

Man I hate sounding like a broken record, but realistically you can ask any IN THE KNOW marketing guru in here.

They will tell you the same thing that works for me, and makes me very handsome profits each month.

    - Build a very large list
    - Give them top notch information
    - Make them get use to your sending them stuff
    - Build more credibility and treat them like a friend.
    - Help them try to acheive their goals for FREE
    - Then go out of your way even more, and answer questions they have
    - Then plug your own products, or affliate products

Then, watch the money pour in.

Listbuilding is crutial to all our businesses online. Without my huge database list of prospects, i would probably make about $4.50 a month online. LOL. Ok, i am exacturating a bit.

But there is nothing more POWERFUL than clicking one button and going on a holiday for the weekend and comeback and see 4k - 5k sitting in your account. :-)

I can tell you, been doing this for years, and I still never get sick of it.

The money is not in the list, It is in how you deal with your customers, build repore and gain their trust. If they like you and you offer then great stuff, prepare to make some good amounts of money. :-)

When my clients ask me when is the best time to build a list. I say YESTERDAY! lol.

Big Relevant Traffic + Irresistible Profitable Offer = Success.

    That's it.
    Nothing more.
    nothing less.

Each day is spent focusing on one of those words. There is waaaaay too much smoke and mirrors parting rookies from their money, and it's human nature to think there's a magic bullet, and no shortage of people claiming to have magic bullets - that they are selling.

The trick is periodically checking in to find out what bullets actually work though, and I've definitely blown some bucks like most.

I only made money when I stopped buying "blueprints" and "systems" and set up my own membership web sites with great value for my members.

This is what works best for me and I can hold my head high that there is real value.

Business models would be Adsense, affiliate marketing, and, most importantly, 'offline'.

As for specific products, Keyword Sniper Pro 2.0 and Clickbump Engine along with BizLocal have been invaluable to me.

There was a WSO released awhile ago which showed you how to build a sales funnel from scratch. Learning those skills helped me make money. All you need to know is how to upload a thank you page and squeeze page to your domain and hosting account. And then you find quality products to promote. Then you simply get traffic and monitor your conversion rate. And when you see one product is performing better than the others, you just promote that offer more aggressively. Also, I heard you need to build your subscriber list to at least 1,000 in order to make a good income online. And the number one thing you should be doing is providing value to your list. That's where the real money can be generated - when your list loves you...

I think most WSO's are overrated and are often the same boring thing (no offence) which goes back and forth. I think all the tips are provided in this forum already. Any questions you need to know just ask and answers will just come.

Rather than buying lots of different WSO's and trying to find "the one", I highly recommend you think what area of IM really interests you, then search the WSO thread for all related WSO's then choose 5/6 that have:-
    a) made lots of sales
    b) lots of rave reviews
    c) long treads with tons of answered questions
    d) from respected warriors
    e) don't have ridiculous claims

Once you have 5 or 6, break down the information and build a plan of action on how to implement! Be patient and keep learning and applying and most importantly don't give up after a couple of months with little or no profits! Keep plugging away and keep asking questions and then one day things will start happening!
