Maybe We Should Pay For Visitors Instead Of Backlinks

I have an odd idea. At least I think it's odd.

What if I paid people to go to google and either search for my domain name and then go to it. Or search for it on my desired phrase (if it's on page 1) go to my site and then make sure they don't go back to google?

I just create the illusion of a popular site by paying people all over the world to search for and go to it. This is only needed in niches like financials probably, but something that's been rattling around in my head for awhile.

Would this not raise your site in the serps?

I don't how long you intend to pay people to come to your website .

If they are not buying your products or services , it seems like money through down the drain to try and trick google into thinking your site is more powerful than it actually is

Obviously i could be very wrong , the only way you can be sure whether it would work or not is to try it out yourself

    Just saying ....

It's no more a "trick" than those big companies buying back links. In the niche I'm in, I notice the big boys probably run a lot of radio/tv ads. As a result, they get a lot of type-in traffic.

So that got me thinking about this. It'd be cheaper just to pay people or something to search for your site on Google. But you're right, it could get expensive... I dunno, just an idea I had.

Yes, this would probably work. At least in theory it works; I have not tried it.

You can do a campaign on mechanical turk or any other microworker site and try it out.

Do you know if someone (with the network and proxies) could do this themselves? Fabricate searches from all over the country, creating the illusion of a popular site.

I would imagine this would make your bounce rate bad in Google's eyes. Your workers would probably just load the site up and then get out of there as soon as possible if you were paying them pennies.

Wouldn't you need to pay a massive amount of people to even make a dent in google search? Especially in anything Financial. Better to pay one time for really great SEO person that will get you to Page 1.
