Inexpensive, High Quality Microphone

My headset mic produces a lot a static noise and isn't suitable for creating an audio product. Can someone recommend a good microphone (doesn't have to be a headset)?

Thanks

Just get a standalone mic they are dirt cheap and dont produce static.

I just have an inexpensive Logitech stand alone. It records beautifully, never any static or white noise.

You definitely don't need a brand name mic. Go to your local computer store and pickup any standalone mic they have, its perfect for creating audio products. The mic/headsets are utter crap in comparison.

I use a Samsung CU01 (I think or at least some letters like that) USB microphone. I have an anti-shock base and a pop filter - cost me about $110 and I've been using it for ages - it's great
