Can I make changes to a youtube video without loosing my view count, numbers of likes etc?

Or does any change to the actual video 'rest' the counters?

  • There is currently no way to replace an old video with a new one while still retaining the original view count, comments or ratings. If you find yourself in this position, you will need to start from scratch with a completely clean slate

  • No. They did it for a while in the early youtube days as I recall. But could you imagine the havoc it would unleash if people could do that? No google can't allow that at all.

    • Sorry to say but they willn't allow it , with a few videos I uploaded and the seen some problems with them I had to delete all and start again.
  • This is one of the most frustrating things about Youtube.

    With almost everything else online we can make changes without throwing the baby out with the bath water.
