I bought my first WSO and made $8,614!

Um,

actually I didn't make any money at all.

However, I'm wondering if anyone, anywhere has ever made any money from a WSO that they have purchased?

Just to clairfy, I don't mean that you purchased it and liked the interesting concepts it provided, or that it would have worked if you had 'taken action'. I mean you made money that you would not have otherwise made, as a result of buying a WSO.

My point being, if anyone had made money from a WSO, there would be a thread like this every 5 minutes, yet sadly, there is not.

What dyo reckon?

Don't buy WSOs that sell money making "systems".

Buy tools! - software, plugins, services.

The uni-bomber is right. If you buy a tool that saves you time and money it is always a win/win

I reckon your logic is faulty.

Most people who are making a living online, IMO, would purchase a WSO if it looked to offer a product or service that would clearly improve the efficiency or profit of their business; or if it promised to add something useful to their knowledge base.

They'd tend to avoid those products that claim to have found a "loophole" or similar gimmickry, or any that base their USP on a guaranteed and speedy monetary return.

So they'd hardly be likely to start a thread claiming "I made $xx,xxx in 3 days from this WSO".

        EDIT: Kenneth, great point.

Agreed. Buy the tools that will help you to succeed with your online efforts. I would say coaching goes along with this, but thats debatable.

Another thing I notice with a lot is people buy products and they don't look to tweak and adabt the methods and strategies taught. Take your skills and what you can bring to the table and use it to your advantage.

Don't take the products you get for what its worth. Use it as a "tool" as Istvan has already suggested. Learn to adapt what you learn to be a tool that helps you further your online success and you'll go far, no doubt.

All of the strategies I use are strategies learned in WSO's, and they all work and produce daily resultsm otherwise I would stop doing them and do something else .

Many WSO's tend to make claims of gigantic money making potential, and while I believe that many of the claims are in fact true, it is very unlikely, that anyone buying the WSO are able to get the same results right off the bat.

The people that make big money in this game have tested and tweaked their approaches, and it is unlikely, that anyone can just copy what they have done even though they have had the methods thouroughly explained and expect to succeed in their first shot.

Since I've been a member here, I'd say I've bought somewhere around 10-15 WSO's. I can honestly say that I have taken something from pretty much each and every one of them that helped me on my way to the level I am at now(which I consider to be a reasonably good level in terms of income and ability). To be honest, I have always been pretty bad at following exact systems So I usually just apply some of what I read/learn and add it to my own set of techniques and strategies.

For example, I bought an article marketing WSO earlier in the year that mostly centered around submitting articles to EZA and working to rank them on the front page of Google. Although I felt it was a good system that was explained extremely well, I prefer to rank articles on my own sites so I applied some of the tips and tricks from it into my already existing strategies for doing just that and it was really helpful. Even though I wasn't following the exact system(I didn't intend to even before buying), I knew it would be money well spend, and it was.

Another one was a complete system for building niche sites and making money with them. An outstanding system, but again I just took certain aspects of it and applied it to my own techniques and strategies.

With this said, I think following exact systems can be useful when you are just starting out. It can help you to be dedicated and disciplined, and will enable you to find out what really works for you and what really doesn't. When I started out, I actually followed a couple of systems diligently and learned a lot doing so.

My advice is to be extremely choosy when buying WSO's. Who is selling it? What is their reputation like? Do they have good standing on the WF? Do they have good standing outside of the WF? Are they opening to answering questions and giving you more information about their product? Is their product relevant to what you are currently doing? Is it a completely new system or concept that will force you to move away from what you are doing? Do you feel you can afford to spend the asking price on this WSO? Etc. Etc.

Try not to let big thread titles suck you in....actually, by all means let them encourage you to click on the thread - but judge the actual WSO by the person selling it and the information presented about it in the thread. Ask plenty of questions(of yourself and the product) before you click the 'order' or 'add to cart' button

Forgetting the terribly deceptive thread title (chalk up another one for the
lame list) you don't make money buying WSOs or anything for that matter.

You make money by selling stuff.

If a WSO or other info product properly teaches you HOW to sell stuff, then
        it's a good investment.

There are plenty of great info products out there that have sound business
model systems. Use them properly and you'll probably succeed.

But if you do nothing but sit on your butt and watch the tube, well, you
can finish this thought yourself. I'm sure you know how it ends.

        Sell stuff that people want...period.

        That's how you make money.

God I hate these deceptive threads.

I find it incredibly difficult to see through the truck load of claims being made in WSOs and thus have a hard time choosing one.

A side effect from reading through the WSO thread though is the reoccuring language that is used and the advertising tactic which is applied...

Thinking of countless pics showing income prove for instance.
Thinking of the implementing of buying pressure by ushering people to buy fast or the product will be sold out soon. Soooo ridiculous! Especially when it comes to pdf sort of WSOs....

Yet, still advertisers keep using these methods. Do they really think that we as potential buyers have not seen that a gazillion times already and know how it works? Yawn!

Well at least for the most part WSOs are cheap so we can indulge.. I did buy several WSOs over the past year. For the most part, the vast majority are helpful and informative, but you do have a few lemons in the mix. Its also a good way to keep up on new techniques which I don't have time to go out and hunt down myself. The last WSO I purchased is a good example. Smething I had to clue existed, but am glad to know about it now. Its there if I want to use it.

Following systems 123 and ABC is not for me. I like to use what I know and what interests me. The system may work, but I will not write 25-30 articles and buy 10,000 backlinks..its just not for me. Expired domains with backlinks, sure.

For the most part, WSOs are good for building general knowledge also. When I build a website, do a promo, or whatever, there is a little bit of that WSO in them. Perhaps I got the traffic technique from one WSO, a template from another, PLR from another , the Bonus to build my list from yet another WSO and so on. All in all , I have my own ideas which may also may be greatly influenced by certain WSOs.

I don't agree you should avoid money making systems, (the saying, give a man a fish feed him for a day..teach him to fish..and so on) but you should be criticle of any system and not accept them blindly. You should always read them from a critcle point of view. I know the money is in the WSO, and some try to slap together a WSO just for the sake of putting up a WSO, you know about these as they are obvious garbage.

I love tools, WSO gizmos and so on. Some are great and have helped tremendously in my IM efforts, but tools get outdated and something better , bigger, and faster always come out.

      Spoken like a true Techie.

It burns my a** when people make these ridiculous statements.

Just because you are a Wordpress techie doesn't mean "money making systems" don't work.

I'll take a proven method of making money over some plugin any day. I have purchased several plugins in the WSO section in the last few months, but I'll take a great money making idea every time.

I launched a WSO about 10 days ago that involves "offline marketing." It is not software, a plugin, nor is it a service.

It is a way to get money TODAY from business owners if you take action.

I think maybe we should separate true online marketing from Offline Marketing.

I have buyers of my WSO making appointments within 10 minutes after reading my WSO, and getting annualized fees over $4,000. I do multiples of that with my "money making systems." This is not a promo of my WSO, I could care less if you buy it.

I have a "money making idea" that has made me over $2 Million US Dollars in the last 4 years, should I not release this as a WSO because it's not software or a plugin?

I guarantee a lot of offline marketers who love to get their hands on my non software, non plugin system.

I spend thousands of dollars annually on renewing/upgrading licenses for software used in my business model. Without them, my business would 20% of what it is.

My company develops and sells software tools as opposed to MMO products and over the years, our revenue has far surpassed what you're claiming.

Any business, online or off isn't all about any specific "Systems" or "Tools"...it's about planning, developing and growing a sustainable business model. It's about organization, management and efficiency to ensure your net profits meet your goals and continue to grow.

If you look past the hyped up claims, you should really think in terms of buying WSO's as learning tools. I would say that over the years, it's the aggregate of information learned from a wide variety of WSO authors that have been helpful to me personally.

And to the OP, the best WSO I ever bought made me $3K or so within a few hours of buying it. I posted about it in the old forum if you care to look there for the details.

My own opinion is that, while many MMO WSO's could work, they're quickly over saturated with greedy people stumbling around and destroying whatever the USP was.

A mediocre business manager will buy whatever catches his or her interest in the hopes it will be the "One".

A good business manager will budget funds for things like WSO's and stick to it.

A great business manager won't waste his or her budget jumping on every next new thing that get's offered. Which one are you?

          Hi Mike,

First of all, I'm not against software, plugins, or services such as SEO, etc.. in fact, I've purchased several of YOURS and they were well worth the money.

As I stated previously, a good "money making idea" can make members good money. I have members making money within 24 hours with my WSO, how many can say that?

          I have probably purchased 200+ WSO's in the last 12 months, I'm a JUNKIE

I learn from every single one, even the bad ones. In fact, I bought a WSO here 2 months ago and the member posted Fake screenshots. He admitted they were fake and was subsequently Banned. The sad part is his WSO was very good for getting Offline clients, but most will never know.

As we all know, marketing, whether via the Internet or Offline takes months/years to perfect. It's a never ending process. We all have to pay our dues, very similar to a doctor going to Med school. You have to pay for your education. I feel the same way about WSO's.

I do believe in most situations that all WSO's should have at Minimum a 30 Day Refund Guarantee. I offer a full 60 days, would have extended longer but the WSO Pro system only offers refunds up to 60 days.

In fact, Mike Lantz won't pick your WSO for (WSO of the Day) if you don't offer a strong guarantee.

I purchase very few WSO's without a Refund Policy, a strong one that takes the risk off of me. This is my Guarantee. If this were Mandatory it would eliminate a lot of problems. If the Seller doesn't comply, bye-bye, no more WF rights.

          My Guarantee:
"If you are not 100% satisfied for any reason - or for no reason
at all - just let me know within 60 days.

"I'll refund your payment in full. No questions asked. And you can keep the course FREE, with my compliments. That way, you risk nothing."

If you're looking at the refund policy before even buying it reminds me of a fat person asking their trainer when they can cheat on their diet - you're already looking for a way (aka excuse) not to make the most of it.

Plus, if you are hurting so bad that $10 is going to break the bank you should be spending your time getting a second job - not buying WSO.

Now as far as your question I have bought and made money from several WSO's.

One of them made me $3,000 but I'm a rare marketer - see I actually do the stuff I read about and do this crazy thing called taking action.

That's really all you have to do to be successful.

Get an idea, take action, tweak it until you make money.

Most buyers don't even finish the WSO before they are looking for their next crack hit.

            That's why you're not successful.

Are their crappy WSO's - sure are.

But that's not the reason you aren't making it online.

It's because you don't focus, don't put resources behind it (time, money, energy), and you switch directions every day.

But what do I know? I mean 6 figures in 2 years might have something to do with it?

Why are you so afraid to offer a Guarantee?

The best marketers in the WORLD understand this, Abraham, Kennedy, Caples, Ogilvy, Halbert, just to name a few.

I'm not afraid to offer a 60 Day No Questions asked Money Back Guarantee. I know most people are honest and won't take advantage of a Sellers goodwill policy.

If indeed a WSO is not for them, why not refund their money? I've sent several refunds to buyers of my WSO because my system did not work in their country of origin. But I don't require any reason, if they want a refund I comply, it's that simple.

Dan Kennedy increased his refund period from 30 Days to 12 months. His sales went through the roof and refunds went down Significantly.

I guess some of us don't take action.

I've made 7 figures in the last few years, lol. I own 2 brick and mortar businesses with almost 20 employees, and run my offline marketing business part time.

That's how I became an expert at Offline Marketing. I had no choice but to implement strategies and tactics to my own businesses. I know what works, what doesn't work. Been there, done that. Spent tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands over the last 25 years testing offline methods.

In fact, I've spent over a MILLION on the Yellow Pages alone over the last 25 years.

Keep working at it Tim, you can get to 7 figures if you take action and have a solid business model.

                Richard
                Richard -

I do have a refund policy. 30 days.

Paypal has one too - 45 days.

Anything over 60 days and you're on your own in WSOPro.

I have no problem with offering a refund.

I do have a problem with people who's first question is - what's your return policy.

Most of the time they have one foot out the door and the other one headed in that direction.

That's based on selling ten's of thousands of products - not just guessing.

Well you will never see a realistic thread like that, because I don't believe it is possible. Posters of WSO's like to use grandiose claims to get you into the thread, and the method rarely delivers.

I can however, say that a WSO did make me money. The thing is though that I didn't follow it step by step, I took the general idea and found a different way to use it. There is no such thing as a paint-by-numbers method like most who buy these offers are looking for. If that worked, Burger King and Wendy's would be just as successful as McDonalds. But they're not. If you want your business to make unheard of amounts of money, well then you need to do something that is unheard of.

    • Yea I agree with what has been said here. You are far better off buying services and tools. First you need to decide what business model you are going to pursue and then stick to it. If you keep buying 'make money now' WSO's every week you will never stay on track and won't make a dime.

Purchasing a WSO that promises you riches is a fruitless venture to say the least. What you need is a plan, a course, direction, blueprints. You don't need to spend a penny to get that, you need to spend time. Research, read, listen, experiment. If there is a product that specifically talks about something you a researching, then it could be useful, for example, advice on how to build a strong list.

These products that promise an A-Z how to get rich... sad to say, never work. Especially if you don't put in the work.

No such thing as an easy buck!

I constantly make around $70 (give or take $30 depending how productive I feel) everytime I bother to implement a certain WSO I bought last year. Was a pretty simple guide but it's good for a few dollars every now and then.

Unfortunately this is what sells. The ones that state you need to put time and effort in are the ones that make virtually no sales. People in this industry want everything done for them, for free, and want that everything to make them a 7 figure income. They just simply aren't willing to take responsibility.

I believe that you will not be able to use just one single WSO to make money online because it doesn´t have all the information you need! I recommend using a set of WSO´s and merge the best tips or steps into your own plan that you are comfortable with... at least this is how I did it!

I choose to take the SEO route and I gathered all the info I could get and put it into one plan that ended up working for me!

    Hope this helped

    Highrank,
In short yes. There are some great wso's available but you need to be selective to find the ones that will work with your skillset and where you reside. You also need to do due dilligence before buying (as you should do with most purchases).
Istvan makes a good point in that all that glitters in the wso section (throwing big figures around) isn't always gold.

First mistake when you get into IM is to buy a money making WSO. Simply put, if they claim you going to make 1000s within a month ... walk away ... Actually, just don't buy any at all, unless it teaches you something (How to rank in google etc.)
What I suggest buying are services, where people will create and rank a web site for you in a niche that you pick or a coach / mentor that can walk you through and help you make your first $1.

    Highrank,

I am new to IM and I got caught up in buying WSOs that promised riches as well. As of now, I have not made any money using any of the WSOs but I have developed my business plan and a method that I will be implementing based on the knowledge I gleaned from all of them. As others have stated, you probably won't find the answer in a single product but once you start looking for your own solution you will find it.

I've made money using the ideas in Colin Palfrey's Ghostwriting course.

I also learned a lot from books I purchased from Travlinguy, Peggy Baron, and CDarklock.

Since writing is my business I purchase items related to article writing and product creation. Since I don't build my own sites, the tools are not that useful to me.

Thanks guys... you both hit on the key point here that most are missing out on. It's not just about the WSO you buy, its mostly about the action you take. Having good guidance and advice is critical, but all of the great guidance in the world can't make you successful if you don't take the massive action necessary to learn and apply it.

Because they get deleted. Especially the ones that link to the WSO. The main forum is neither the place to "promote" WSOs nor post "testimonials" (notice the quotation marks) regarding the "effectiveness" (again, notice the quotation marks) of a WSO.

Else, there would be a deluge of supposedly genuine testimonials about this and that WSO every day.

Buyers can, of course, post their reviews/testimonials IN the specific WSO thread, but not here.

I find it interesting to compare the general tenor of these replies with the length of time the author has been a member of the WF.

Like a great many others (most of whom will never post to this thread), I have made a LOT of money from WSO information. IMHO, the people who pose questions like this are merely looking for an excuse for their failure.

The mechanics of making money online are simple: find a market segment that has a need, then sell a product or service that fulfills the need. Everything else is minutiae.

Every 'system' has the above as the core basics. But there are an infinite number of ways to get the basics done, and an infinite number of ways you can fail trying.

But here's the thing - with the exception of some of the 'off-the-wall' WSOs, most of the how-to-get-rich-on-the-internet systems that end up as WSOs will work, if you put in the time and effort require to make them work.

I've never seen a WSO that duplicates my entire business model. I doubt if there will ever be one. Not because I do things radically different than any other reasonably successful marketer, but because I've tweaked (and am still tweaking) the techniques and tactics that I've learned to work for me.

If I were to detail what I do every day and offer it as a WSO, people would likely call it 'rehashed crap'. I guess it is. There's a little bit of nearly every WSO I've ever bought in my 'system'. My system is a rehashed, refined, reworked mishmash of techniques and tools that I've learned from countless marketers who have gone before.

So, my basic opinion is that if you haven't made money from a WSO you've purchased, it's your fault. I've yet to find a WSO that hasn't contained something that I didn't know, hadn't thought of, or had forgotten.

Is anyone going to answer this person's question? I think the question is "which specific WSO has anyone used that has made money?" This kind of answer dissing someone because they haven't found one that works for them is not only not productive, helpful or useful in anyway, it is conceited. If you don't have an answer to someone's legitimate question then please don't make a feedble attempt to show off by telling them they are lazy and you are smart because you smashed some stuff together and figured it out. Had the OP asked that specific question, the thread would likely have been deleted, as would any answer that named any WSO specifically. Read the rules.

I have not a conceited bone in my body, mainly because I am not rich, handsome, smart, educated, fit, or gigoloish enough to BE conceited. If I were any of those things, I might be.

If you will read carefully, you'll find that I made several points:
        • that most of the affirmative answers have come from people who have been around the forum for longer that a few months
        • that most of the threads of this nature have been started by people who have tried maybe once or twice to make some money on the internets and have failed, and are now trying to put the blame on the WSO instead of where it belongs. I acknowledge that as a generalization, but I believe it to be fairly accurate, based on my experience
        • in my experience, most WSOs have at least some small nugget to offer
        • it's not likely that a person will buy a WSO and use it EXACTLY as it is laid out
        • that whatever your 'system' turns out looking like, it can/should be continually refined

In short, what I wrote is chockful of useful things to go on and lessons to learn, answers the OP exactly (albeit not very succinctly), and doesn't 'diss' anyone.

I can say with absolute certainty that there are people that have bought WSOs that I have offered and made consistent money from what they learned. My first WSO here taught how to create a certain type of site that would generate loads of traffic. A lot of people took action with it and a lot of people still make a good living or supplement their living with what I taught them.

That's just one example. There are many more.

There are good WSOs and bad ones. You need to use a combination of common sense and due diligence to weed through them. After that, you must take action... lots of action. Any course that provides an opportunity for income no doubt takes lots of hard work to accomplish success. You must be willing to dedicate yourself.

I am sure that there will be naysayers that claim that I am pulling their chain and none of this is possible. Those that don't believe that it is possible to learn something, take action on it, and profit from it are the ones that will forever be seeking the magic button that does all the work for them.

And to those that produce junk WSOs one right after another and fill the sales pages with misleading hype, you will never know what it is like to have a list of tens of thousands of people that respect what you have to say and recommend.

There's no such thing as a "One Size Fits All" WSO. Different niches, different users, different customers, and different markets all have special requirements to make ANY system work. The hype likes to tell us that you can apply any system to any niche, in any country, in any world, in any universe and in any period in history and still make a million bucks in your underwear!

Wouldn't THAT be nice? The truth is, for good WSO's, you have to adapt the program to your specific needs. Remember, it's impossible to tailor a WSO to everyone on the WF. We're a diverse group, after all!

That being said, yes, I've made money with WSO's, but never doing things exactly Step-by-step like they say. A tweak here, a nudge there, and a slightly different approach once in a while makes a HUGE difference.

I made over $30,000 from a WSO. That got me started into my business now which is thriving.

The WSO was guess what - a private label video series. I took this series and customized it. I wrote an ebook for the front end and an autoresponder series. I used the video as an upsell.

I created a free giveaway (standard stuff here).

I then rebranded everything and put it up on Paydotcom.com.

I had a slew of affiliates pick it up. Some well known ones too. And so it began.

So my advice. Purchase something you can sell - be it rebrandable software, ebooks, video, audio and do the work required to make a great product out of it.

Do not buy "make money systems".

Having said that - my first off the Warrior Forum MMO Product I bought did very well for me.

I think what you are seeing is a normal lack of implementation on a majority of what is provided. Or perhaps, people get side tracked or realize a system is not their cup of tea and just abandon a project.

Having said that - I primarily follow the rule of buying the tools, but I do like to check out everything else and for the most part it is for my own personal entertainment.

Don't be so quick to judge all the offers as not being good or useful. Do take the time to ask questions and see if something within a particular method might be beneficial to your business.

Most of the WSOs I bought have helped me and my business in a way. I have read, added my twist, taken action. Well, some were just "not for me".
It may take a while before you learn how to pick up the right ones tho.

I got a WSO from E. Brian Rose on being a Google News publisher, and made money with it. I learned a lot from going through his course and becoming a member of his forum about Google News.

It was a lot of fun and I had many $100 and $200+ days with AdSense with that site. I never could repeat it a second time though. And my writer bailed on me unfortunately. But I was able to sell the site before that happened.

Yep. I'm someone who has purchased well over 100 WSOs. I actually stopped counting around 120 or so, so I suspect it's much more than that. Have all of them made me money? Of course not. But here's something to think about because I'm the type of person that buys something and immediately puts it into action:

The vast majority of them have helped my bottomline. So most of them have made me money. Whether it was PLR material, an article marketing strategy, teaming up with the product creator, using a word press template, an autoresponder series, how to use a certain technology, and whole gambit of other things.

There are certainly many WSOs that promise the moon and don't deliver. But honestly, we will never know any exact numbers because there are people that don't take any action either and just wind up buying the next, new shiny thing.

There's also something to be said about doing your due diligence and doing your best to make sure the seller has a good reputation, isn't hiding behind an anonymous name, and doesn't have a dearth of testimonials that are all just a little too positive. You should also know their refund policy ahead of time in case you do end up purchasing pure cow dung (hey, some of them are that bad).

On the flip side, there are some OUTSTANDING WSOs, some of which have already been mentioned. Now I can only speak for myself, when I buy a really good WSO I make it a point to contact the seller and give them my private feedback, I don't feel it necessary to post it in the main forum. Also, if it sounds too promotional to any one particular WSO, the thread would probably get deleted.

I buy lots of wso's... I feel like they are a bargain and while I am sure there are some duds and out right shams there, I haven't bought too many of them. Partly it's due to the fact that I am not really looking for a magic bullet system that will make me 5k by tomorrow.

But to give you an idea, I bought one that I was a curious about a few months ago and I decided to test it out as a case study to see if it was a worthwhile business to me and if it was scalable as the business model was completely different than my current businesses. I had my outsource team work on it for the last few months as we started on march 29th and it is now making $3000 per month. I spent a couple thousand and a bunch of hours with my team to get it to this level, but it absolutely has worked.

Now, will I pursue it as a business model, probably not as I found that it takes a lot of time and work to achieve those results and it ultimately isn't the best use of our time as we have better opportunities. But for many others, this wso would be great as you could certainly turn it into a full-time business. But it would be a lot of work on the front end. And before anyone asks, I will not reveal the wso. I am not anyones affiliate and I am not interested in people buying wso's on my recommendation and then coming back to me if they can't or won't do the work.

But to answer your question, yes.

I actually bought one WSO that did make me money - well not exactly - the wso was about profiting from Fiver - however I already done that (8$ profit) even before I bought it - but the WSO contained information that was pretty close to what I have done to make that 8$ so in potential - it could make money - so you can make money from a single WSO - the big question is - how much? not much !!!!

As other smarter people have stated here before me - it's a combination of WSO's, common sense and a plan is what will make or break you !!!

      Good luck man.

I've made some money from Dan Brock's deadbeat super affiliate course. Since I started though I've deviated from the original instructions a lot, using knowledge I've gained from the WF and other places.

I believe I would have made a great deal of money simply by sticking to what the course teaches but I'll make more doing it my way.

There are tons of high valuable info here and on many WSO's.

As someone said, just avoid the "push of a button money making systems" then i just do this way:

    1) Buy one WSO when you see it's something really special. Do not buy every day!

    2) Read/watch carefully, more than once if necessary

    3) Take IMMEDIATE ACTION!

This last concept has been repeated so many times but there are still too many people that buy many WSO's, sometimes more than 1 a day and then they struggle to read them all and can easily get confused with so many info all together.

I find MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE to look carefully and decide to buy only when i see something perfect for my needs.
Then, when i buy something, i spend the necessary time studying the resource.

Last thing i do is to try to apply immediatly what i have just read/watched. Do not let the ebook sat in a folder of your pc for days but stay focused on that for the time it needs right after you finish reading.

I find this way i had much more success than how i used to do in the past, when i was buying tons of stuff, overloading info in my head.

Yes, I made money with the first wso I bought. It was Dan Brock's No Skill Profits (this was way before Deadbeat Super Affiliate). It was my first ever IM course and it was the one that taught me the "technical stuff" of setting up a wordpress site.

If I am not mistaken it was one of the first IM courses on Amazon affiliate marketing at the time. So it was "revolutionary" to me then and I wouldn't have gotten into Amazon aff marketing if not for it.

I have never made money from a WSO. I make money from my own efforts. I do buy them and I do learn from them. Not a single WSO will make you money. You make you money.

I am not saying do not buy them. Do they are great resources if bought carefully. I learn from them. Put into action some tips and strategies and figure out what works best for me. I make my money not the WSO. Think of a WSO as a teaching method. Not a money making method. You will get much further that way.

    That is my .02 cents.

Buy WSO which related to your skills. Most of newbies look at the WSO title "Make $x,xxx" without focusing the method. Then they will not take action. That's the biggest mistake.

First decide your skills like SEO, PPC, PPV, Service etc and then find a related WSO and take action

I think the mistake people make is expecting the WSO to really be a point and click solution, when infact nothing of that sort exists, and if it did it would be milked to exasperation

I have bought a few WSO's and in my opinion they have been very helpful. I have actually learned something from them. Although I have not made any money they have put me in the right direction and will certainly help with my business. I will be able to implement some of the techniques outlined in these WSO's.
Building an online business is not simple and defiantely not easy.

You have to go through a learning curve so information like this is very useful. Unfortunately we get lead astray by 'claims of easy riches' but in my opnion there is not roadmap to riches. It is all about the commitment drive and want. How much do you want success? How motivated are you to make it work? Determination, drive and action are the fundamental keys to success.

I know this will be silly:

I've bought a couple WSOs and did not take make any money, because I was doing something else that was making me money. These just were distractions. However, I did make money when I bought a wso about how to sell WSOs and I did it - I made money selling WSOs

I find it funny that most "Make 1,234$/hour with 2 seconds of work" methods are written by people who don't really make that much money using them, but only know that they could probably make. Anyway, there's still some gold info in most WSO's.

Sometimes reading "Understanding Geological Formations" or "How to Construct a Mine Shaft so it Won't Cave in and Bury You Alive" is important also.

Having a tool that you don't understand how to properly use won't do you much good. Therefore, sometimes informational products are also useful.

I'm not saying that one is more important than the other. I'm just saying there's a place for both depending on your situation, your goals, and your current business needs.

I bought a WSO not too long ago about some fiverr techniques I was over looking. I was already successful on fiverr, but with the tips I got from there, I took it up a noch. WSOs can be hit and miss, but if you find one that seems good and you take action and do what it says, you should be able to make it work.

I bought a WSO in early 2010 that explained a method for Amazon Associates (cannot remember what it was called, or who created it). I still have a monthly revenue stream from this same system as of today, so some WSO's do work. This specific WSO required quite a lot of action taking, but it worked and could be outsourced.

Most people will not make any money with a WSO, even if the method works, due to several reasons including:

    - Many will not take enough action to generate the success
    - There are other costs involved that the buyer is not willing to invest in
    - The buyer has a lack of skills such as setting up websites and email lists
    - People are looking to make money without doing anything

A few have mentioned above about putting your own twist into the method, so i would like to stress that point. You must never follow the system exact, you must always do at least a few of the steps in your own unique way. Be creative in any method you try, and the results will be much better.

I agree with everyone that says something to the affect of you have to learn basics of internet marketing (or marketing in general) first...

I've known about the WF for years... but just recently (like the past 8 months, I've bought WSO's like crazy and some are really good - and some not so good (..for me)...

That's why now I treat them like any other product: see if it
fits with my current business model (or business needs).

Although sometimes it's fun to deviate a bit and test something new out. As far as WSOs, if it doesn't work you're normally out 7-10 bucks.

But anything that presupposes "easy money" via blind-following step by step should be a red flag - not that it's definitely 100% lie - I don't know about that - but you should examine it closely.

I've made money with a few WSO's - but not in a way that can be directly measured.

I personally don't think newbies should be buying quick-money WSO's expecting to make serious
money (especially if they haven't made any money online before).

It's probably best if you learn a set of skills (or learn the act of hiring others to perform skills first)

    For example:

Action Skills: copywriting, testing & tracking, setting up stuff up (autoresponders, ftp, creating web pages, etc.), creating helpful products, driving traffic, etc.

    Mindset Skills:
staying focused, over-delivering, setting goals, thinking big, doing what makes sense, taking smart risks, continuing to learn (reading "success books" [i.e. Think and Grow Rich, etc.], reading strategy/marketing books, reading strategies on the WF/War Room, etc)..
