Which page should be static page?

Im a personal trainer/strength coach (IM is a hobby), id like your opinion on which page should be my landing page. If people come in for a specific article, i figure they'll find/read the article regardless of what page they land on.
I do have a template landing page I use when we have an event on, but the rest of the time I just use one my other pages, usually my testimonials - however I could use my bio page to give a better picture on my expertise, or my "how we train" page to give a better idea of how we get results. You guys are the experts though!

PS - I do not use email capture (aweber) anymore as I believe Facebook pages are now more relevant and not only am I hopeless at emailing people, I find people dont always read their emails, but always check their facebook...

    This may sound like a dumb question but, are you a local training facility?

    I couldn't tell from your site if you're selling a product, which I couldn't find, or if you're an actual business with a real location and gym.

    Why is this question important? 'cus if I can't figure it out I'm pretty sure most other people can't either.

    So, your first page should be who you are and what you do followed up with what you want me to do (call to action).

      I would agree on this though...well obviously you are offering services...but I didnt get where it is delivered and Ive already scanned who, what is CC and services pages....

    If you don't have a traditional sales page or opt-in form, then the landing page may not be critical, the first page should be find for generic links, although a mix of inner links to articles relevant to the discussion is important for you link profile.

    If I may comment, the 3 different entities represented by your site, and maybe the banners and badges might be a little confusing to some visitors, you might consider setting up 3 separate, more focused sites that just have a link to the others.

    It seems that your gym may not have a google maps/places listing, these can be extremely valuable, often a business site that doesn't rank in normal google search will get traffic from local searches. You just have to submit the business and respond to the verification phone call or post card. You can hae 10 pictures and 5 youtube videos in your places page as well as custom defined attributes that help give broader search matches.

    For examples try searching google maps for:

    martial arts, Victoria, 3072 Australia

    Typically just the top 7 results are featured on the valuable page 1 results, getting reviews and citations from other directories helps your places ranking.

    I am not understanding the above text.

    If I go, for example via a search engine results page to an article of yours - I would be completely upset if you redirect me to some crappy "landing" page instead of letting me to 'land' exactly on the article's page I wanted to read.

    So, the question is: what is in your mind a "landing page"?
