Is This a Fishy PayPal Login Link?

Hi all,

I need to ask this because it's been puzzling me for some time. After having my PayPal account nearly hacked last year and being shut out of it for a couple of weeks I've been anal about making sure I always use the https://www.... for PayPal when login in.

Even to the extent that I have the saved hyperlinked stored as a bookmark.

What troubles me though is this: Every time I sign out of my account I get redirected to this fishy link: https://www.paypal-australia.com.au/business

To me this link looks fishy. Am I correct in the assumption and if so, how come I get redirected each time I log out?

Cheers

    I'm pretty such its legit.
It doesn't look like it collects login data (If you click login you are redirected to paypal.com)

I was curious so I searched google for paypal Australia. That took me to the home page. paypal.com.au/

I then clicked on the business page and this is what I got https://www.paypal-australia.com.au/business.

So same as yours. Must be okay.

Whether this is legit or not. My rule is not to click anything that I'm not sure of.

my experience to this when I clicked a link that redirected me to a trojan site.

And also paypal now a days gives me some delays and also I got some emails stating that my account is over the limit even if I have not registered that email.

This isn't really the right place to ask. Email the link to Paypal and ask them. They're the only people that can answer you for certain.

      Hi rosetrees,

      Strange you said this.

If PayPal had a proper avenue to email them I would have long done this. But obviously they don't. Their email system directs you to the frequently asked questions section. Since this is hardly a FAQ there is no answer for this question.

Trying to go further from within the account prompted me to "launch a phishing attack on my account." Since my account wan't phished per se I can't lodge a claim.

I would have thought that with thousands of marketers hanging out here at the forum it IS THE place to ask this question, plus help others be aware of a potential issue should that be the case.

      Anyway, thanks for your time.

The whois (paypal-australia.com.au) and ABN number(93111195389) lookup info looks legit. The Business link at paypal.com.au/au redirects to paypal-australia.com.au/business, so I guess this domain is legit, but you can always contact PP Security Center.
