Tired of Sales Videos You Can't Pause? Here's How to Fix it

Just download the video and play it in an mp4 player like quicktime. If you install download helper using firefox, you can download the video and then just skip through it. check out https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ownloadhelper/

How to use:

1. go to the sales page
2. at the top near the address bar in firefox you'll see a icon spinning around just click on it to download the video.

Thats it! No more long crappy stories about how people fell into an accident and became rich. This is good as well so you can see if the sales video is going to tell you what you are going to get, instead of having to buy it and then find out.

That's true. Though what I do is just look into the source, and inside the JWPlayer code, there is the video .

That may be even better, don't have to download. Good tip

I've never run across a sales video I couldn't pause by simply clicking somewhere inside the video box.

I must live in a parallel universe.

Or maybe my mouse has Mighty Mouse powers.

They're definitely out there, you are just one of the lucky ones. The videos tend to run for at least 20 minutes. There are no controls to ff, pause, rewind, anything. Not even the little bar in most videos that let you see how far along you are. It's a nightmare and when I see a video like that I just click off the page completely.

Ya I guess I also ment videos that you can't ff, pause, & rewind

I definitely don't like those videos that you can't pause. I've seen a few in different niches. What if I have to run to the restroom? Can't pause it!

    It's worth testing though : )

      Hi ballhogjoni,

Tired of Sales Videos You Can't Pause?
Nope, not tired of them whatsoever.

If someone won't allow me to make an informed buying decision without holding me captive to their dross, they won't get my business.

I think my biggest beef with this type of sales video is that I watch 20 minutes of it and then it ends, not really ever telling me what I am gonna get for my money. I don't mind a sales pitch, but I just want to know what I am gonna get. If its software I want to see it in action not stupid clickbank screenshots of how much money you made.

Exactly, I totally agree. A lot of sales videos are just 20 minutes of wasted time.

If I can't pause it or fast forward it - I can leave it...and I do.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Amen! You would think the marketers that do this check their metrics re: how many leave and how many stay, so maybe those of us who leave are few, as hard as it is for me to believe that.

Experienced marketers targetting a specific portion of the market don't want other portions of the market within their funnel, for a variety of reasons.

Solution - filter them right at the front door, in a manner that almost guarantees that those that they don't want inside, move on. Once the highly targetted portion of the market is corralled into the funnel, the highly targetted marketing process begins.

          It's actually very clever.

Hint - if someone were a stage hypnotist/illusionist, would they find the purpose of their act easier to achieve if all cycnical hecklers were turned away at the door, leaving only the impressionable?

What about if the cynical hecklers could view the act from a sound-proofed balcony?

Would it instead be preferable to stop those people from gaining access to the balcony and therefore from viewing the act at all, so that they could not talk about the intricacies and sleight of hand of the act elsewhere in public?

Therefore, the marketer is unfazed by large quantities of people clicking the X. They are only interested in the quantity of people willing to expose themselves to the full performance, by choice.

The can't pause character is also part of their strategy...but it can make or break the sale depending on how good it was...

I love those videos cause they tell me right away that they are not worth watching, so i wouldn't spend a second of my life trying to stop it

Like most above - I quickly click x - especially when they won't even tell me it how long it is going to be.

Even if it isn't appropriate to download (I agree) why the heck would I want to bother taking the time to put it on my hard drive only to delete it later.

I like the JVPlayer solution if I think this might be something I want to view but most of the time - I am out of there.

Good tip. I don't like videos that do not show the length, or that do not allow you to pause them. I usually hit the close button on such videos after a while.
