This is the second post I've seen from you today and it seems to me that
you don't have anything good to say to anyone. Sheesh.

If all you have to offer people is negative one line posts then maybe you
should take a break and stop trying to bring others down.

      Have a Great Day!

Maybe you should choose better ways to get your point across.

I won't hi jack the OPs thread and lower myself to your level so this
is my last post to you.

Is it Richard or is it DICK!

Ah ha ha..lol..I was going to say something but you got it covered, Micheal.
I really thought that was a good comeback...cause that was out of line...period.

What the hell is the matter with you Rich? You weren't like that when we conversed on a bit of help you needed about eight months ago. I noticed you have been getting a little ...'meaner'... for a while.

What did this kid ever do to you? And for that matter Michael Mayo?

To the OP...there was a great saying said by a man once,

"You have nothing to fear but fear itself".

Nobody is without fear, the greats just go ahead and do whatever they have to anyway.

            I wish you much luck.

          LOL, too funny.

but he has a point, what risks are you taking here? you have a good base foundation to start where there is no money involved. I can tell you ive spent over $1,000 on IM. so you have nothing to fear.

Failing is part of the process that ultimately leads to success. The key is to start doing something... anything. Even if it is something small, like setting up your first blog. Once you take those initial steps, you'll have momentum.

I think it was Woody Allen who said "Eighty Percent of success is showing up..."

I remember learning to drive and being scared to death. But once I started (and this was decades ago), the fear quickly diminished. IM, like all other things in life, is like that.

Will you fail? Yes, but not at everything.

Will you succeed? Not if you don't work through your fear and get started.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. You don't know what will be at the end of those thousand miles, but there's only one way to find out...

Don't let your fear keep you bound. Instead, be defiant, and stand up to your fears. Take action, and you'll surprise yourself, and those around you, with all that you are capable of accomplishing - both failures and successes.

I wish you much luck on your journey and hope that you are able to move past your fears.

Just to mention, blogger is deleting a lot of make money type blogs. You may want to try another free place to create a website or blogsite. Also, don't be afraid. If your first attempt fails, just try again.

The only people who never fail are the ones who never do anything.

You've been on the forum for awhile and I've seen you asking a lot of intelligent questions. Trust yourself and start your blog. If you fail then figure out why and do things differently the next time.

Part of being an entrepreneur is being willing to take risks. The good thing about starting an online business is you can choose to start with spending more time than money.

Don't let yourself freeze due to fear.

I was too when I started. Here's how I got over it.

    Why?

What does it matter if you fail?

If you are only using free methods your only cost is your time. And the time is not wasted. Either you learn more about your craft, or you learn that you want to do something else with your life. Both are worth a couple of hours.

Failing isn't failing. It's an exploration. It's an opportunity to learn. The only failure is failing to try.

Great point.. If these people never started at what they did because they were scared to fail we would not have many of today's great things.

I'm new also, but I've had successes in making money online by selling mobile apps. Since I feel these two areas overlap, I'm studying IM to help me better market my own work and acquire new skills and opportunities. It's definitely been fun so far and just the fact that I'll learn skills to keep me going motivates me more than the profits. Hang in there and I'm sure you'll go far!

You will never be successful in Internet Marketing unless you take risk, do your best, be optimistic and never surrender Vannay. Have the heart of a Warrior and always remember that you'll never fail unless you stop.

Do everything you can for free then, and don’t risk your money. Study internet marketing while building Squidoo lenses and writing blog posts using Blogger. However, remember that they are animals. They don’t respect your rights and they may take your pages down at any moment. When you work using free resources you have no protection. They are good for the beginning, but don’t count on them.

Perhaps it would be better if you would spend some money instead of being so afraid to fail.

You may fail a few times before attaining success, or you may be lucky. However, everything is part of the journey. Don’t spend anything in the beginning and later, spend only a little bit, so that you won’t lose too much in case you fail.

Fear is a protection. On the other hand, it can become a mental illness. Be careful, but don’t let your fear completely paralyze you.

Failing isn't so bad as long as you fail fast

Get an idea, take action asap and get it out there - if it doesn't work, no big deal just move onto the next one.

You only need one idea to work, then scale it up and you're set.

    Loved the quotes by Serendipitous!

Never be afraid to fail. Not just in online marketing.. in all aspects of your life.

It is in failure that you gain wisdom and learning.

I suggest you start by doing some major planning of what you are going to do and how you are going to do it. As one quote also says "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."

Maybe it's a 'clever' way to increase post counts, start what could be a popular thread with plenty of answers, views and sympathies... Then, when no-one's looking, drop in a signature link.

I completely understand how you feel. When I first started out I didn't take failure too well.

Internet marketing is about failing time and time again. It's those times that you succeed that make it worthwhile. You will fail many times, but it's all about picking yourself up and trying it again until you succeed.

I use to watch this video a lot when I felt down...

Hey vannaylove I just wanted to say you should not give up before you start. I really liked the quotes that Serendipitous helpfully posted up and you should really take heart from them and others here who are prompting you to just start.

A word of advice would be to consider what you want to promote first and then decide how best to do this. In general I would always advise to go down the route of purchasing your own domain name and hosting your own website (costs can be as little as $20 to start up and then around $10 per month for good hosting) as you then have an actual asset that you own but if even this is too much right now then certainly consider your goals and work backwards from there. And remember this quote which always motivates me:

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Confucius

I just started too and doubt myself sometimes and think it was all a bad idea when it starts to get hard... but what keeps me going is out-talking my fears, doubts and negativity. Simply because I know that fear will never go away as long as you are growing.

You have to surround yourself with people and messages that make you believe that it's all possible. After that you have to just take action without thinking too much.. act, make things happen, see what happens, learn and move on.

Please get yourself at least a domain, hosting and auto responder.

What are you capable of? Eg: Writing article, customer service or.... You can offer services to others.

I have been in your shoes before an excellent procrastinator where I think no one can beat me on this back then.

Do yourself a favor by taking a few days to look around and conclude what business model you want to pursue.

Take baby and consistent step. Breakdown a list of baby task you need to do each day.

    Eg: Register Domain

    Step 1: Why I need to register - Because I need ...............

Step2: What is the purpose to register - Reason is .............

Step 3: Deadline and Period - During my Lunch time 45 mins

Step 4: Resource to guide me - Guru .... 's Tutorials.

Step 5: When to take action -During Lunch time.

It only takes you 10 mins to pen down your baby task but it helps to increase productivity and overcome procrastination.

Ya and also stop waiting for perfect time and keep going and soon fear will disappear.

    Hope it help.

    Yours Sincerely
    Randy Seet

How can you fail if you don't even try? You cannot be scared to try new things because of fear of the future (Within reasonable terms). Otherwise, you will find yourself sitting no where wiser or richer when that future comes. Internet Marketing success is a road paved with failure, you need to overcome these obstacles if you ever want to reach your goal.

If you are just starting, I would promote through wordpress, not blogger. I will make your life easier for sure.

Fear is what can be used to drive us forward.

Just do it and you'll learn, that is the only way. There are things that people can't teach us that only experience can.

Stay afraid and you already failed. If you start with just one article, just one, I can guarantee that you are on the road to success. Maybe you won't see money on day one. Hell maybe you won't see money before day 100. If you keep plugging away though, I guarantee that you will make money.

    Brad here.

I feel your pain! We are all going through the same experieince. Take your best shot. Lots of free sites out there. If you have a IPod or MP3 player you might also want to check out Internet Business Mastery on ITunes.

They provide lots of great material and pointers for free software for the beginner. Right now they have from about PodCast 55 throug 130 - about 30 min each. Can't go wrong.

Also watch out on the free blog. Be sure to save or back up frequently on your own hard drive or server. I have read more than one story of someone pouring their heart out for months - really get a good blog going and BAM! Blogger shuts it down - no real reason just gone.

Sounds like that happens from time to time on various sites. Just save your work. You will also be impressed in about 6 months how far you have matured in skill and technique.

Can't help but learn from this forum as well as other experts. Also check out Yaro Starak's web site he has a lot of free materials - a free ebook and a bunch of great MP3 interviews with bloggers who say they made it through "to the other side" lol ;-)

You can check my site out too - see how a beginner starts out as well.

Best of luck and don't give in - keep pushing. You might want to copy the quotes in this thread from Edison and Churchill et al and post them on our wall - great motivators.

    Cheers !

I have taken many risks in my venture to make my living online. Find something you are good at and talk about it. Squidoo and Blogger are good to have but as they say don't put all your eggs in one basket. Once you master those two sites, which won't take you but a few a days, then move on to the next. I like to use those sites to link back to my blog. So once you have those two built and they are on the same topic your well on your way to building a network of sites that could possibly make you money or just be a fun hobby! Have fun with it!

Opportunity is always knocking. The problem is that most people have the self-doubt station in their head turned up way too loud to hear it.

A simplistic post - and people are attacking each other's opinions? Oh please, folks!

I don't have money to start in making money online. So im planning to promote on blogger. i wanna build squidoos, articles. but i'm just afraid to fail .
But in other threads started in the past 2 weeks, you've said you have a blog, have written many articles, etc. Problem seems to be you are 16 (or 17 depending on the post) and impatient.

It takes time for a site to move up in rank and get traffic and it takes time to learn and tweak and start earning money.

Keep blogging, keep writing and keep working toward your goal.

Those methods work, don't be afraid to get out there and start creating some content and promoting offers. They do take some time, and you'll need to learn some about SEO in order to start getting decent traffic.

I actually still have several Squidoo lenses that are up and making me a few hundred each month passively from clickbank products. I created them almost two years ago, so that just goes to show you that you don't need money to make money online.

Like other people have said in here - take action, that's the only way you're going to succeed.

Failing is all apart of learning. Internet marketing is like learning how to ride a bike. You are going to fall a few times here and there before you learn how to ride without falling.

Hey, you have some ideas and that's great and there is no such thing as failure, just an opportunity to work out what works and what doesn't. You just take action and "do it", there is no place for procrastination in this game.

It's just knowing what you want and working towards it which matters, too many people go off on tangents, are not fucused and cannot see a task through to completion, that's why they fail.

Just do it! and you'll be fine

Hello Vannay, don't let fear consume you. If it does, you will never reach where you want to be, or will never attain whatever you want to have. Fear just got the best in you, and in your fear, you don't want to risk anything in life. Listen to what other warriors are giving you some advice. They have been there and have surpassed failures which make them successful in their own respective fields. Never let that fear overcomes your goal, take that risk. Every failure has its own lessons, and from those lessons, you will learn to make yourself a better and improve person. Continue hanging in here, you will learn from the warriors in here and I am pretty sure, they will also help you in your problem as they helped me in my problem. Go for your goal, never back down and never be afraid in what you do.
Keep a positive outlook in life always.

Failure or success is far away for you right now. Just remember you haven't failed till you quit. And what's your alternative anyway. My advice is focus on what you want to achieve and it will happen.

If you just follow up with solid CONSISTENT action then within the next 3-6 months even with free methods you'll make it. As Nike once said "Just do it"

First of all you should congratulate yourself for posting this thread and being honest about your fears. By doing this you have got a whole host of positive information and advice from Warriors and tha should be a push in the right direction itself!

I personally think that you will fail yourself if you do not try and you will constantly be thinking - 'what if?'. What is the worst that can happen if you fail? You don't make money this time? Get as many people on your list? etc etc.. That's when you go back to the drawing board and fine tune it. Every successful person has failed in their life before - so why don't you join them, you never know what could happen.

    Good luck x
