Blog: Release content slowly or post all at once?

Hey, guys.

I've been building content while waiting for a custom wordpress design for my blog.

My question is, should i post all my content immediately once the blog is up or should i release it slowly over time?

Does it matter?

I'll be adding more content as I go, of course.

Depends on the purpose of the site.

Assuming we're talking about a Blog, I'd add a couple of posts to get it started and time the rest for one every couple of days.

Agreed. Search engines seem to like new content and/or content that is updated on a regular basis.

Release a couple of posts like christopher jon suggested. Focus on keywords within those couple posts and the quality of the posts.

Maybe use pingler to ping your blog.

In a couple few days, release another post and keep doing so.

That would be my advice anyways.

Relevant content posted on a consistent basis works great, 2-3 really great posts are better than 10 posts just thrown together for the sake of content. Just like the others said do some research on keywords and then once its live spend time adding it to social bookmarking websites. The cool thing about wordpress is you can set a future date/time for all those to go public. so while your site is being built you could have all that content saved as drafts. Just a suggestion. =)

Slow and steady is better in my opinion it looks more natural and it will not throw up any red flags with the big G.

I'd agree with everyone so far - post a few to get going and then schedule the rest to be posted on future dates.

Scehduling posts like that is one of the great things about Wordpress and can save you lots of time.

It would not look natural if you post like 20 articles a day and then go with 1 a day.... this may be penalized... Be consistent with the number of articles to post on your blog .... Big G will love the new content updates....

You might want to check the link in your signature as it doesn't work for me.

I got there in the end though and the design looks good

I think there is a plug-in that can do the job for you.I prefer to post articles 2-3 times per week based on what happens around us.You get the latest issues, peoples get latest news.

what ever you choose to do make sure it is consistent, so if you release a lot in the first week then release roughly the same amount each week after.

      Consistency is the key

The best option is to publish slowly...because google loves blogs that are frequently updated...hope that helps..cheers

A mix of both will be my advise to you. Say you have 10 articles ready with you. At first, post 5 of them, then you can schedule the remaining 5 posts (Say, 1 a week). That way you actually have some content as soon as your blog launches, secondly, it will continue to have fresh articles every week as well. In the meantime, write some new articles that can be scheduled for future.
