Input and advice for a real estate membership website

Hello Warriors,

I launched a membership website last year that provides tools and resources to residential real estate agents in the USA and Canada. For a monthly fee of $19.95 per month, realtors have access to a suite of products incuding:

Articles written monthly by our team of writers in both English and Spanish
Custom newsletter generator
Bi-lingual lead generating mortgage calculators
Sales letter generator (all letters are exclusive to our site)
Download library of personal, professional and lead generating products
Virtual tour and property flyer generator
More.....

At the heart of what we offer is content that is carefully selected and in many cases exclusive to us. As a long term industry professional, I know what we offer is useful - especially to agents who work for independant real estate companies that do not have all of the tools that some of the larger franchise co's have.

Over the last year I have tried PPC advertising, email campaigns to realtors, FB ads, and a few others. While we have had success signing up some Members, it is not close to where I thought it would be.

Can anyone offer thoughts, ideas or suggestions on how to grow the site?

Any partnership opportunities out there?

Should I consider JV's? Partnering with website co's or marketers? Other?

You can visit the site at agentsuccessclub dot com

Thanks in advance!

If you work with enough agents you'll learn that (1) They are cheap, (2) They don't spend on things they can do themselves and (3) They want everything for free. Marketing dollars are thin right now so no surprise you're not getting sign ups. When times were good brokers would split marketing costs or just outright pay, not any more. Most agents have to pay for their own marketing and they aren't buying much.

Selling on your site like you are doesn't work anymore. You've got a nice site, but you need to give your best stuff away first, build a huge following and then sell them access.

      Couple of thoughts...

After looking at your site it appears what you are offering is a way for REAs to spend more time working in the office.

It's true the tools are based around marketing themselves, but the requirements for taking advantage of the tools once they join means more work on their part. Particularly work in a skillset many of them don't possess, e.g. website skills. I suffer the same problem on a product I have, only to a lesser degree.

Additionally, while the internet marketing crowd lives and breathes affiliate sales many folks outside of the niche don't quite understand the proposition. To them seeing an affiliate page where they get a 25% affiliate commission only means the product is priced 25% higher then it needs to be. You and I both know the power of those pages, but lay people don't. Perhaps you could offer that AFTER people have joined as an unadvertised bonus.

Lastly, I would change the graphic in your header. I'm sure there are more important aspects to be worked on, but your 3 star graphic does nothing to present an authoritive presence. That's a personal opinion on my part, but that is some prime real estate on your website and you should maximize that space.

      HTH,

      ~Bill

IMHO I think there is also a copywriting problem - or lack of attention getting, big-benefit promise copywriting. Look at your headline "Dynamic Marketing Tools For Real Estate Professionals." Where is the big promise, problem/solution in that?

The more you tell - the more you sell. There are not enough reasons given for an agent to even want to try a $20/month membership. Agents haven't seen "inside" your site to have any idea what is there.

While I am not an agent, I am a real estate investor - bought my first rental in 1975 - and have some knowledge of the business. Several years ago I attended an investor's seminar at which a half dozen "gurus" tried to sell their expensive courses to the audience... a pitchfest.

I happened to know several of the presenters. - the gurus, and what I realized was each presenter gave his/her "very best stuff" during their presentations. It had that "wow" factor. This made audience members think, "If the program we are hearing is this good, just imagine how much better the expensive course will be."

This is how the speakers pulled the audience into purchasing, and purchase they did. It was funny to watch.

Your website does not give any real indication of the quality and usefulness the material the agents get as members is. Give them a taste - a free trial - a test-drive - or a $1/month for two months trial with automatic continuation at $19.95 per month after that.

Are you getting any traffic to the site? If not, maybe good, old-fashioned snail-mail postcards can be used to send agents to the site. But once again, the quality of the copywriting on the postcard will affect the effectiveness of the cards.

    Just some thoughts.

    :-Don

I have a lot of real estate agents in my list.

My site is about coaching real estate investing especially to new investors.

I would love a joining venture/possibility, where you invite your list to one of my webinars and I will market your product to my list.

I would like to talk with you further about your list and what you have been doing. I am going to be creating a large networking membership site and would enjoy partnering with someone.

I have worked in Commercial Real Estate for the last 13 years and am also looking to create a membership site. I would like to work with others that have a membership site up and running. I plan to hopefully attract 10,000 members in the first year.

I agree with Bill you really need to change your header graphic. And I think you should also change the graphic for your ebook cover.

The two of them combined together just make your site seem too cartoonish. Maybe the combination of the colors and and the superhero dude elicited that response.

Also as I was reading I was thinking along similar lines as Don, you're copywriting could really use some work.

I didn't really understand what you were offering, or I should say I know what you are offering but I don't understand WHY I should buy it.

You immediately mention money, assuming that is what is going to be driving your customers, and I can tell you as a professional sales person that is the wrong path to go down.

By introducing price into the equation this quickly into the conversation you are setting your customer up to make an intellectual decision and you don't want that.

You want them to make an emotional decision. You want them to make decisions based upon desire, need, fear of missing out, even frustration and anger.

I think you have a good idea for a membership site - I just want to be excited to join it.

I want to be able to imagine all the things I am going to get when I do. I want to be able to imagine how good it's going to feel closing more sales, having my clients sign the closing papers and shaking their hands and the pleasure I would get from that. I want to be able to imagine how that is going to affect my family, maybe buying my kids more toys or building a pool in the backyard, and even maybe imagine me driving a nicer car as a result.

And frankly your site doesn't elicit any desire, it doesn't trigger my imagination.

The other thing I was thinking about there is no consequences for me if I decide to say no and leave your site.

I think you should have some consequences. What will I miss out on if I leave your site? What will it cost me? You could bring up how the worry, stress, and frustration people feel when they don't make enough sales and how you are going to solve that.

One more thing I would suggest is you say you are a Real Estate Agent yourself, why don't you tell your story. Talk about how these tools have helped you, how they have increased your business and what you got as a result. And like above you can mention how it saved you time, relieved stress and worry, etc.

Or if you don't want to talk about yourself then get some testimonials about how it helped other Real Estate Agents.

You can offer up access to your membership site to 10-20 different Real Estate agents in exchange for testimonials.

and in a way this can help you out cause it when you do get started having paid customers join you will already have 10-20 Real Estate Agents on the site maybe discussing ideas, tips, asking questions, etc and this can make your site look busy.

I agree with comments above, I have been looking at your site. It doesn't tell me much about what you really offer. I have filled in the contact form with no reply! Not a good start.
Yes I am quite interested in signing up but require some more information first.

    Many problems on your site.

For example: Agent Success Club » Dynamic Marketing Tools for Real Estate Agents & Lenders

I still don't even know how this can benefit a RE agent.

On this page it says "Our Property Marketing generator allows you to quickly and easily create, edit and share an unlimited number of Virtual Tours and Property Flyers. "

    What does that mean?

What does this feature provide for the re agent?

Post an example, and I can give you some pointers. I have worked with agents for over 5 years.
