Serious question? Must one post in ezinearticles first

I have some articles i want to post. My preferred choice is ezinearticles but I have not met their 10 article mark and can't wait forever to get approval.

What i want to do is to post my articles on other directories as well as ezinearticles.

I know the others will instantly approve me(at least most will) until I get ezinearticle approval.

Is that risky or they will still approve me all the same

The first site indexed by google is assumed to be identified as the originator of the article and will be given a ranking advantage. If this advantage ends up perhaps pushing some obscure directory listing from page 4 to page 3 of google results, it was kind of wasted.

Can anyone else confirm this or provide a source for some evidence?

I'm not suggesting it's not true, in fact, I really hope that it is and it's something I've often wondered about. I've just never seen, or been able to find any supporting evidence.

I recently read a story about a guy who had hired someone to write articles for his site (A large authority site) who was then in turn selling the same articles to other places afterwards.

Apparently this caused the authority site to drop significantly in the rankings. Not suggesting it's anything to do with the duplicate content myth, but I would have assumed most of the google love would go to the original source and that any syndication of the articles would not count against his site.

I believe this to be true. As long as the content is first indexed on your site and then on others it should not have any negative impact or duplicate content penalty for your site.

CraigRC the writer of FastAttack SEO also mentions this in this blueprint.

ezinearticles is different from the other article directories in that they manually approve each article for duplication. So it is important to get your article approved on ezinearticles first before submitting it to other places.

Grandstar, always place your content on your own website first, then once it is indexed, publish it on other websites.

So no you do not have to and nor should you. Google grants the most importance to the website that publishes the content first.

Please refrain from giving advice when you don't know what you are talking about. What you have written is completely misleading and false.

I'll take that a step further. EZA, in their author guidelines, openly encourages authors to submit previously published content. The only thing you have to be careful about is using the same author name on each submission.

        This is completely wrong.

There is no advantage to doing that, and it's entirely unnecessary.

Forget the other article directories, seriously. Post your stuff to ezinearticles.com and wait for it to get approved, you'll be glad you did! If you want to "repurpose" your original article, then you can post these "spun" versions to other directories. However, I have a HUGE trick for you...

The ONLY think that Google looks for with "duplicate content" is the title. So when you repurpose your content, MAKE SURE each title is VASTLY different! You don't need to spin the article itself.

You can, however, curate the article, basically by quoting parts of it and then adding your own comments.

Just be patient with waiting for your EZA submissions.

It doesn't take that long, and in the interim, you can continue writing good articles to submit.

Without being obnoxious, you can also prompt them with a courteous reminder if you've waited more than 10 days or so. I've always received positive feedback and often get the article approved the following day once you've let them know you're waiting. It's all in how you ask. If you're rude about it, then that gets you nowhere. : )

I would be patient and keep submitting to Ezines. It has a high page rank and gives great backlinks.Make sure you only put a url to your website in the resource box as they wont allow your to have capture page urls or direct blog post urls in there until you have reached platinum.
Go articles are another good one if you really cant wait ,but don't bother trying to resubmit the article to ezines after you have posted it on go articles.Ezines wont accept duplicate content that some of the other article sites will.I know its a pain to get to platinum but it is worth it.Once published on Ezine you can submit to as many article directories as you like, make sure to only do 5 or so in a day to make it look natural.Good Luck

Why not write unique article for just EZ and other articles to all other general directories.
