Question About Flippa

I have sold several sites on Flippa and have some success with it. Before I list another auction I have a question on what constitutes "unique design"? If I am using a free wordpress template that is available online, but adding in my own images and banners, etc would this be unique design? Or, by using a template available to others is it automatically not unique? I have been saying the design is not unique when I do this, but would like to know if this is the right answer. I can't find any explanation at the flippa site.

if u add your images and banners, and theme look good, than its ok, can be unique designs, since there are no other sites which have same image/banner like yours.

You have to make sure that your images/themes are unique, and does not clash with those on other sites. That will drastically increase your chances of success.

I would go with non-unique if you're using a freely available template. I've had a buyer before complain because I said "unique" and I had used a HEAVILY edited premium template. So best to be safe

I would say no that is not a unique design, you have some unique elements but thats it. If you're ever unsure, I'd say something you didn't create or have created just for you is non-unique.

Some will tell you as long as a certain percentage of the design or content in questioning is changed its unique...thats a bit debatable (as far as HOW MUCH OF A PERCENTAGE).

But for now, I'd say just to be safe and not piss off potential buyers just say its not unique. If someone can go grab the graphics you're using and do so legally, you're not unique...your graphics aren't that is. I'm sure you're very unique and special ;-)
