PPC Agency - Would you use one?

Hey everyone,

I am really interested in finding out whether you, as an Online Marketer would use a Media Agency to help create, expand and maintain your Adwords campaigns if you were offered the service for a percentage of your total monthly ad spend or if you were quoted a fixed fee per month.

Would this be something you would consider?

Obviously, this is hypothetically speaking if the agency had well-experienced PPC Analysts, who were GAP certified and had experience working in large International Agencies with International brands.

Very curious to hear everyone's thoughts.

Regards,
Will

In short, yes. I would prefer to pay a percentage of the sale, much like an affiliate partnership because it would encourage the agency to drive more traffic, better clicks and make more sales.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

That's true, however then I feel the lack of transparency between the campaign account and actual sales account would make tracking revenue and overall media revenue very difficult, plus you have the complications of refunds and charges per purchase.

I think it is very common for media agencies to use both of the methods above, the method of paying a percentage of ad spend is generally used on larger clients where as the fixed fee is generally for lower spend clients.

Either way, it's in the best interest of the media agency to ensure they are doing a good job, because otherwise the client will either run out of money thus creating no more revenue for the media agency or a smarter move being to move media agency to one which would hopefully create more revenue for the client.
