John Reese Auction Secrets Affiliate Script

Hi guys

Does anyone else remember this product and the affiliate script that ran it?

I was an affiliate for it and the way the affiliate programme was run was very motivating for me as an affiliate to get sales.

I think John set the programme up so that for sales 1-10 you would make 50% commissions. For sales 11-20 you would make 60% commissions and for sales after that you'd make 70% or something like that.

It also allowed you to recruit sub-affiliates and you would make $5/10 (I can't remember exactly) for every sale they made.

I made a bit of money promoting that product and put a lot of effort in because of the way the programme was run and the incentives for getting sales.

Does anyone else remember it?

Is there a similar script out there?

Thanks,
James

John's program was custom-made and is what he currently uses for Traffic Secrets.

A lot of scripts allow you to set a dollar amount or commission on the 2nd tier, but I haven't personally seen one that raises your commissions depending on the number of sales made. You can do that manually with a lot of programs, but I haven't yet seen anything automated.

I'd be interested to know too. :-)

This script allows you to increase the commish for number of sales reached &
also has 2 tier management built in:

iDevAffiliate - Affiliate Tracking Software - Affiliate Program Software

I'm not sure if this is what JR used, but it will do exactly what you are asking.

    Thanks Jared

That looks like a good script. I'll have to take a closer look

John didn't use idev - it was definitely custom.

I have use idev and didn't know it had this function (don't use it anymore) - cool. One thing about idev is it doesn't do well with recurring payments, if you happen to be working with them. You probably have to manually cancel any recurring commissions if a member cancells.

Idev does excellent with recurring payments, and calculating recurring commissions... it's all built in.

I think you are confusing automation with manual steps, which is possibly why you said they don't do very well with recurring...

Of course this is an IN HOUSE affiliate program, not like cb or pdc where they do everything for you like cancellations. If someone cancels their subscription, sure with idev, you may need to manually go in and authorize their removal request as the affiliate admin.

Sure there are a few manual steps that you need to take with running your own in house aff prog, but the benefits far outweigh those little steps you need to take.

James - JV Manager 2 can do this. I own a license and stopped using it due to a variety of small things I personally didn't like, but one if its functions was the ability to create a stepped affiliate program where the credit a referrer earned increased depending on factors you could set.

You can get a fully functioning hosted account for less than $100 per month.

    I hope this helps

Thanks Lee, I'll look into it.

It's ironic that I'm currently listening to one of your videos!

Okay I know where to send my Amazon S3 bill! I hope you like whatever it is you're watching.

If you just wanted to use your normal affiliate tracking, then another option is to offer manual bonuses when a certain criteria is reached. One popular affiliate program pays 50% commission, but if you sell more than x number of units in a 30 day period he manually pays you a cash bonus via Paypal.

Also check out Marlon Sanders affiliate program as he too offers stepped commissions - just don't start promoting his stuff and stop promoting mine .

      Cheers!

On a similar subject to offering cash prizes, can you think of any other creative prizes to offer affiliates? Take a look at my thread below:
