My ClickBank Challange - Diary

I am looking at raising my clickbank gravity to 100 in the marketplace now that I know that it is to do with having affiliates that sell more than two products withing 90 days.

I currently have 20 affiliates that meet this criteria and have a gravity of 19.02 at present. So my first goal is to double the amount of affiliates that will sell at least 2 (hopefully many more) of my products in 90 days and see what my gravity reaches then. I want to aim to do this in the next 7 days if possible. I will then update on how high the gravity has risen.

Any affiliates out there who feel that they have the skills to help them please do so.

It will also be interesting to see at what level we see a 'snowball' effect if we see one at all.

Try raising your affiliate commissions. I used to pay 60%, the bumped it up to 75% and recruited many more affiliates.

      Hi James,

Someone else has said that to me this evening. I have just changed it to 60% commission on each sale, however I think the site takes a few hours to update.

Are you an affiliate or a publisher?

Lets hope this helps to boost my gravity.

    Hi Burtie,

I'm an affiliate and a publisher. I always use 75% commissions for my products now. I don't make as much per sale, but I get more sales and more leads that I can turn into long term customers.

      Thanks...

I will see how 60% does and then move up accordinly. The guy in 1st position for hypnosis offers 56% so already higher than him on percentage.

      Thanks again.

    Hi Burtie

Couple of ideas to boost gravity:

    1. Offer all affiliates who make 5 sales a prize of some sort
    2. Run a competition where you give the top 5 affiliates for the month special prizes.

What would you suggest? If you were a perspective affiliate, what would you want as a prize in return?

I am on it - just trying to work out the best prize.

That's my problem at the moment - I don't know what prizes to offer. I'm planning to run a competition over the next few weeks, but not sure what to offer. I'm marketing to the anti aging / natural health crowd.

I started a thread earlier asking for suggestions, but so far haven't heard anything

Thanks for this James. I'm in health too. I would be interested in hearing how you get on with your contest.

    Hi Paul

I don't think this is self promotion. Burtie isn't asking for affiliates from the forum, just wants to document his success at boosting his gravity. He hasn't mentioned his product.

E-mail people in your niche (Forum owners, other product owners, etc) and tell them that your interested in a JV. Even give them a commission bump if they are a big enough of an authority.

Cheers Craig. I have 40 products on the same account so finding people for the various topics should be easy enough. I will get to it.

      Thanks again Craig...

      Thanks Travis,

Conversion is not really an issue as all 40 products have high conversion except 1 and we are looking into that one at the moment and tweeking it.

All the affiliates in my top ten have been with me for a while so they must be happy. I just need to get some more like them onboard

      Thanks again Travis.

Any other tips would be fantastic

Just came over some scripts that say they will boost my CB Gravity, however it seems a little dishonest to me. Is it ok to take this route or should I just aim to get affiliates by other means to raise my Gravity?

Well, ended up having an all-nighter contacting potential affiliates. My first goal was to find 20 more affiliates to make at least 2 sales each in the next week - i will keep up the emailing and do the other stuff that other members have advised.

Any more tips would be great.

Had a bit of a boost to my gravity today. Since the CB update it has risen to 20.10.

Still really struggling to get know affiliates onboard, so be brutally honest and test me why I am not turning them on to promoting my products? I think getting 20 new this week will be a bit of a struggle.

I would love to go to 75%, but that means that I will make next to nothing for each sale. I guess its a confidence thing.

There is always your OTO (One time offer)
    as your backend.

I think rather than thinking "how much money
I lost?", I would prefer to think "how much
more money my affiliates are helping me to
    make?"

You see...without your affiliate, you can
    only do that much.

And always build your backend offers
    such as OTO, downsell, upsell,
    cross-sell and so on.

    Build your product funnel carefully
and have a proper plan out.

    Good luck!

Make sure you have a good after sales process in operation, burtie.

Giving 75% per sale will not give you much per sale, especially after Clickbank fees. Make sure you get your buyers email address and develop a relationship with them. Then you can cross-sell, up-sell, down-sell other products to them.

75% might be cutting out your profits, but if you have 100s or even thousands of affiliates it can make you a nice amount of a cash.

Affiliates demand the following things these days:
    1. A product that practically sells itself
    2. A high commission rate
    3. A Killer copy that will close the sale (There are tons of ppc affiliates and they will not waste their clicks on a losing sales letter)
    4. A good amount of affiliate tools/creatives (check out your competition and see what tools they offer)

If your product is in demand and you have a nice sales letter, then you can get plenty of affiliates that will find you on clickbank and sign up. There are plenty of other ways to attract affiliates as well.

    Cheers,

Hopefully raising the commission will increase sales so my bottom line should be fine. I guess I will have to wait and see.

Is the product the third link in your sig? According to CBengine.com the refund rate is 54.2% which is probably the highest I've seen. Now I don't know how accurate that figure actually is (it could be completely wrong), but that would definitely put me off promoting it.

Yes it is the third in my sig. But that certainly is not the refund rate. I will go now and calculate myself.

I would've thought alright that it's slightly inaccurate - the refund figures don't reflect my own refund rate on the products that I do promote (mine's usually alot lower). Alot of CB affiliates use that site though so it could be a factor.

I actual refund rate since we lauched the site in 2007 is 8%, however since september last year it is only 3%. I have just calculated this in my ClickBank account. Why is CBEngine giving false information?

I've no idea how they calculate their figures. I just saw your product in the CB marketplace though and it says the affiliate payout is only $12.41. That's obviously wrong as well, but most affiliates who are searching the marketplace for a product wouldn't look twice at such a low payout.

Did you recently change the product pricing? I wonder if that has anything to do with the skewed figures? If the marketplace was updated to show the real payout you'd be almost guaranteed an influx of new affiliates.

Also do you provide your affiliates with promotional tools such as graphics, articles, emails, keywords etc.?

                Hi,

The prices just went back up to $49.50 this morning after a months test of having a 50% off sale. The old commission rate was 60% up until this morning too. When I changed from 50-60% it all took a few days to get the correct figures there in the marketplace.
