Experts At Creating Mobile Sites - Question

How do you approach a potential client (restaurant) that has many different locations (about 20) in the US. There is one main site and every individual location has their own subdomain on that main site.

Is there a way to build a mobile site for this situation? A person looking for this restaurant locally would want the "branch" close to them. How would that work? Or could it work?

There is a mobile marketing thread the offline marketing section that can help you.

You could also go to Elance (or other online outsourcer) or find a mainstream programming/design forum and ask the question there as well. Those folks will probably be glad to help.

    Hope it helps.

It depends what the difference is between the mobile sites. If all the pages would be the same on each site then you could just have one mobile site and list all the different locations on a page of that mobile site.

Alternatively you could take people to a page where they first select the location closest to them from a simple drop down box and they are then taken to the mobile site for that particular restaurant.

If the person is using a smartphone you could also also use the geo-location to list which is the closest to them although depending on your source you are using for the geo information it may not be accurate and can also slow down the user experience whilst waiting to get the results - certain technology based on ip detection could in fact place the user in another part of the country! Lol

When it "does" work lol it's great but you must also have a fallback plan similar to what Willr mentioned
