Hi,

Whats wrong... why dont a lot of online services accept paypal.??

Why is it that a large majority of online businesses whos target market includes us Internet marketers don't offer Paypal as a payment method.

As a offline consultant with regular fixed monthly consultancy fees I use Paypal exclusively as my payment option and to manage all my monthly and yearly reoccurring billings. Every penny I make goes through Paypal.
Its easy and simple to use, not only for me but for my clients.

I also use paypal for all my business expenses one off purchases as well as monthly subscriptions ie hosting, email provider, project management tool, outsourcing payments. It makes sense right, using the same account for money in, money out.

But sooo many online services don't accept PayPal and only offer credit card as a payment option. I am not in the US.. but buy and sell in US$$, so moving money from Paypal into my bank account and then into my personal credit card attracts unnecessary currency conversion fees and bookkeeping tasks to track the paper trail of the money flow and all the fees that come along with it.

Surely these merchants who dont accept Paypal must be leaving a heap of money on the table for not accepting Paypal. As there must be other IM's like myself that will find a compariable service that will. As I will go to great lenghts not to use my credit card online for business, especially if I have sufficent funds already in US$ sitting in my Paypal account.

I will however give the merchant the opportunity to accept my payment using paypal, and have had mixed responce. Some have said "no way we only accept credit card, like it or lump it approach and dont seem to care that they are missing out on any business because of it.
While I have had a few merchants provide me the option to use paypal, some claim that they do accept Paypal, but prefer not to advertise it. So in other words if I didn't take the time to contact them, I would of never of been given PayPal as a option, and they would of loss themselves a customer.

I am the only one, or are there others out there who experience the same frustration ??

Maybe because of huge Fees and Paypal always limiting their account? Plimus is the best.

Thanks for the lead, Plimus looks like a great service, I'll look into that. Had a quick look, not sure how their system works.

      Quote form web site...

Plimus provides complete integrated access to PayPal, allowing customers to make payment through their PayPal accounts into the Plimus system quickly and securely. PayPal can be used for both single and ongoing subscription payments.

For supplies that choose not to accept Paypal just because of it fees surely need to do the maths. In comparison to some other merchant fees.. yes I agree, but in comparison to the overall charge it is always a small %. Surely not enough to justify walking away from a sale.

I'm with the OP on this, it is rather annoying.

Earlier on this evening I wanted to buy something at $24 per month, scrolled down and very quickly found that they were accepting CC payments only and not Paypal.

So they just lost an order.

I must admit I didn't know about the Paypal debit card, so many thanks to the above poster for pointing this out.

I am with you, I dont know how many times I have done exactly the same thing. Decided to proceed on a sale or launch, only to find Paypal was not a option and then walked away. Normally they have done such a good sale on me, I want the service so bad I go find another supplier that does offer paypal. Truth be known I have saved myself a heap by looking elsewhere.

Take email providers, because none of the big ones excepted paypal I kept searching till I found one that did. Being Imnicamail, and they only charge $9 for 5,000 subscribers... now that is a huge saving.

My first choice was Aweber, I contacted them about PayPal as a payment option, and they would not accept my payment. In this case I am glad as Imnicamail is working a treat.

Imnicamail is excellent. The guy behind it is a well respected Warrior member here. I use them too.
