Good wordpress theme for a "course"

Hey guys.

=]

I'm developing an online course.

I don't really have much time to implement much coding, so I'm going to have the "e-course" on wordpress.

Is anyone aware of any wordpress themes optimized for an e-course?

(I've googled and found some, though I was curious if anyone here has had any personal experience or could recommend such a theme?)

I appreciate your time and contributions.

I used WishList Member to develop my e-course. Then jumped on ThemeForest and found a few themes. With a course just make sure that it looks clean and is easily to navigate.

I did the exact same thing. Wishlist member is an AAA player in membership tools. Plus you can easily extract and add members if you ever find the need to do so.

Theme forest has always had a good selection of HTML themes...some good Wordpress themes too, but significantly higher ($8 vs. $35).

Optimize press of course is all the rage and many say good things about...darn it, I forgot, Kabaja, anyhow you can always go with good ole Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven and customize your header and background color. Your main goal is to have a clean inviting look, because the fact is your members are accessing your members area for the content, not to be neccessarily amazed by the design or feel of the site.

Just be sure its clean, without the visiual noise, and I'm sure you cant go wrong no matter what you decide to choose as your theme.

I would use optimize press or go on themeforest...you will be spoilt for choice on TF but be prepared to spend hours on there. Optimize press for the win

    Let's turn it around:

According to YOU, what features would be necessary in a theme "optimzed for an e-course"?

If you can answer that question, I'll be able to recommend you something.

Mate, if you are delivering your course via video, audio, or even text, OptimizePress is quite good. I use it myself for my website flipping course, The BBS Formula.

You can use it alone with PayPal, that said... if you want to bring on affiliates, then you can experiment with Clickbank, Nanacast, Wishlist Member, and so on.

There is also Kajabi, but that is an entirely different kettle of fish, and doesn't work with Wordpress, but is another option to throw out there for you.

I write about the two here, might be worth a read before you make up your mind about which way to go.

Yes it depends on what you need however for a good "all rounder" I would go for Thesis it has a very clean looking basic theme and you can customize pretty much everything that you need.

The 'Jenny' theme is great too. Check it out.

Check out Feature Pitch by Woo Themes. I just found this in the code of a new site that Ryan Deiss is pitching...Mobile Local Fusion. It's $70, but looks simple and easy to setup. I think you'll still need a script for membership like Digital Access Pass or other good ones.

Guys, I appreciate your responses very much; I regret that I haven't had time to thank and address all of your precious responses individually; your knowledge and knowhow is invaluable to me, and I'm grateful that you're offering the fruits of your experience.

My primary intention is to offer video tutorials, an e-book (slides), daily blogs, and a ticket system to contact me. (Any themes come to mind? I found a few really sexy ones, theme forest owns, I've made a few poor selections in finding a WP theme provider in the past, theme forest seems tight and the content reasonably exclusive.)

Ultimately I think I'm going to find a nice theme on Theme Forest and implement Wishlist Members.

Any tips or suggestions? I will probably use WishList members unless someone gives bad experience they had with it lol, but to me it seems like a finely established tool to manage content management/memberships.

This could be great with a really nice looking theme. Seems like a practical and implementable option to me.

Thanks again guys; I'll see you at the top. (I had to bump this, if only, to thank you guys.)

Random Thought: I also intend on offering "Drip Feeds"; content that upgrades monthly. I'm not sure how to logically execute this at the moment (I'm sure I can think of something) But I understand Wishlist Members offers such a function.

This is big, Wishlist members seems really nice. I'm going to start creating the video content soon, then the actual implementation of the site. (I have the scripts written, and the accommodating slides designed.)

This is going to be fun; wish me luck.
