It's really up to you...but why not doing both? Put it up somewhere and then giving people link to download your video. Maybe someone wants to watch it later.

If you put it on vimeo, then you can actually do both. You can password protect the video, and when they log in, they can both watch it online or download the video for watching later.

There's a way to host the videos on Viddler and change the privacy
settings to only allow your host site to see them. Therefore you can
put them on your download page to be streamed or downloaded.

There's always Amazon S3 as well. This is really cheap for that kind
      of size your talking about.

My only reservation with vimeo is what if vimeo decided to take down your video?

I would password protect it and have a download link available for the visitor to download if they wish. I would go the amz s3 route as well and have the video on your site.

    Its cheap and reliable

    Hi, I'm Tom

This is not hype, but I've been fortunate enough to be born with the ability to do multi-faceted presentations, that I believe are really quality. Hope others think that way to.

    My Challenge Too

Anyway, the matter of the distribution delivery of any digital ebook product presentation, occurred to me in terms of aligning the distribution with some type of video product, whether it be to cross promote my other ebooks, or to enhance the value of a parent ebook. The obvious question was, how do I do this?

It seems that there has been, and currently is, a solution to this question, though I don't know the full extent of the effectiveness of this solution as I've yet to experiment with larger file long-term videos.

Now don't get me wrong, there is a simple answer to this question of how to distribute a related video along with, or as an ebook presentation, however, it's really the detail of the simplicity that is complex, which I think might be smart to investigate before I just give the easy casual basic answer which anyone and everyone probably will give.

    Why Think

The reason why I think it's smart to expose this detail, is to attract greater insight concerning the distribution of a standalone ebook, with, or as, a related video format. I also would like the conversation to reflect a potential downside to this effort, and help to avoid the possibility of a loss of income due to innocent ignorance, brag-worthy incompetence, or less than scrupulous efforts by bad guys looking to dilute the value of the product through piracy distributions and or other really unnecessary behaviors.

No, I'm not paranoid, but I thought it wise to be shrewd and look at the color of both text-image(contextual)/video distribution bookends, and make sure that they contain and hold the ebook products smartly and securely on the bookshelf. My conversation here, concerns one of the technical aspects of some of these details.

    So Here's My Story

I have a number of what I term, 'Advanced Inner Technology', hardcover book and digital ebook properties, that I'm looking to distribute and or sell to the public. Due to the nature of the premium quality products, I deemed it necessary to try to do the best video presentation as possible that can be done, with little or NO BUDGET.

In order to proceed in this fashion, I purchased some motion videos, images, graphics, created more original marketing content, and or decided to use some universal software that could put it all together, not so much video editing software, but video compiler software.

And so, I created video promotion content for the 'Advanced Inner Technology' hardcover book and digital ebook asset properties. I ended up with a multitude of what I term , snippet videos. In reality, they are actually that, as anyone else will attest to as they see that the video promotions are anywhere from 30 seconds, 60 seconds, to a minute and a half.

Then, another question came to mind. The question I asked myself ,was, how do I cross promote all the ebook properties, and effectively further brand myself as an architect and author of 'Advanced Inner Technology' hardcover book and digital ebookproducts, as well as other branded presentations, in relation to them being viewed as, 'must have value commodities.

Obviously I wanted to do this so as to cause the viral influence effect, where one of the digital ebook properties being exposed and accepted, will cause the viral-spiral similar behavior for the other digital products.

    The Epiphany

And then, the epiphany. Digital ebooks, digital videos, Eureka...... Embed the promotional videos in the ebooks themselves. All I needed now, was the right software tool to do this. Well, that was a simple enough problem to solve, after I googled the question, 'how do you embed a video in the PDF'. The answer was almost instant.

At the time, Adobe PDF seemed to be the quickest and most accessible option. I simply got a trial version of Adobe PDF Pro, which had the capability to embed multimedia into PDF files. Easy 1-2-3 click cut and paste process. Of course, the .mpeg videos that I had, had to be converted to .flv format prior to me embedding them in the PDF. The Adobe Software required this.

And so, my current day first tier solution to my initial problem of wanting to provide a multimedia product along with my text-image product, was to embed the multimedia product directly into the text-image product. That simple.

I experimented. Some of the videos are 15 seconds, some of the videos are 1 minute, some of the videos are 5 minutes. Generally speaking, at the initial stages of my experiments, I used only short term videos to embed inside the ebooks. Nothing to say that this can't be done for longer videos...

    Let Me Clarify

Let me clarify this effort. I imbedded short 1 minute or less videos into each ebook. That was the first tier. That was the first tier of only short form multimedia presentation.

I think you know what was next. If there is a first tier, there must be a second or more. And so, I contemplated longer videos to embed. I am currently in the process of experimenting with this notion. Right now, I'm up to at least 9 minutes. No problem. The next move will be to 30 minutes, and then finally 1 hour and 1 and 1/2 hours.

It seems like the only potential difficulty would be the file distribution itself, in terms of the size of the PDF having an imbedded video. With today's current Processing Power, Storage capacity, clouds, upload and download capabilities, and general personal computer device capacities including smart phones, it seems like there's no reason why a 1 hour enhanced video cannot be embedded into a digital PDF ebook and be distributed to multiple source online eco-system environments.

Oh Yes, I can do this all at once, however, I'm doing this alone and not outsourcing any of my efforts. I didn't go to any school to learn this stuff, or, really intensely follow any specific brand name guru that has presented his or her presence to the online-marketing community. That's not to say that I haven't taken the tiny bit of time to study as many of them as I could to extract as much fundamental good an effective policies from them as I could. They all have good, bad and ugly, but I preferred to only digest just as much of the good as I could.

    Why Not

I figured hey, these guys gotta get up in the morning, possibly look at the sunshine, possibly eat some food for nourishment, and go to the bathroom or wherever to relieve themselves, just like I do. So, there really isn't any reason why I shouldn't be as aware or adept as they are concerning the ability to rake in significant amounts of cash through online-marketing effort. Especially since all the information that they are using for their expertise, is readily available on the Internet, though its spread out and had to be harvested into one collective personal file for cross review comparison purposes.

Like anything that has to be learned, it's a matter of sitting down, shuting-up, asking discovery questions, listening, observing, and getting out of my own way in terms of allowing distractions to dissuade me or remove me from a smart focus of attention. You know what I mean!

Besides being about finding solutions, solving problems, providing quality offerings to be helpful, and being about the Benjamin's, for me, it's really all about truly knowing how this Internet actually works, being an online-marketing income-producing profit-keeping traffic broker, understanding the reality behind the behavioral psychology's of both the machines and online traffic populations, and ultimately, really knowing what the heck I am doing. WoW, that's a mouthful.

    Not Reinventing The Wheel

I'm not reinventing the wheel, I'm just making it better for myself to use. The slots for me seem to be content creation, strategy, SEO, and cosmetics site design.

Anyway, I've decided to second guess my modest efforts so as not to do anything stupid nor unsavory. I'm testing along the way to see if there are any bumps in the road concerning download file challenges through different browsers and video file size conversion. I'm in no rush because I haven't launched a campaign as of yet, nor, have I actually earned a dime through Internet Marketing. Well, maybe sold a premium book or two here or there in Germany, but nothing significant. I've just been doing a tremendous; and I mean tremendous amount of homework, and taking no action as of yet, except up until now . Pretty much ready to take action and launch.

What do you think? What is the best way to deliver a Video Product?

I don't know if there is a 'best way'. But there is a better way based on the current requirements to meet your needs.

I would recommend creating a pass-worded page containing the video. Then just send them the password. If the audience is going to be huge, the I recommend sending a different password for each person - preventing people from sharing the common password...
    Good luck!
