Anyone Still Getting 25% - 50% Squeeze Page Conversion Rates?

When I first starting using squeeze pages the conversion rates were unreal. It wasn't out of the ordinary to see up to 50% or better conversion rates. But I've noticed lately that the rates are way - way down on squeeze pages I used to get these high results from.

Anyone else seeing this trend as well? I've got pages out there that well known marketers claim they got 24% - 66% conversion from that I barely see a 3% - 5% rate from myself.

For instance my last campaign of 2000 paid visitors I got 58 opt-ins to a page just a year ago was consistent at 36% - 44%.

Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm all ears...

Every traffic source you send is going to bring different results. What niche are these pages in? I am still seeing at least a 50% optin rate on my squeeze pages but they are not in the IM niche. Maybe it's time to test some new layouts, etc.

Although you say you are using the same squeeze page that was bringing you much better results last year? If the only thing that has changed is the source of your traffic then you need to do one of two things. Look for an alternative source of traffic that would be more targeted to your page OR start testing different squeeze pages with this current traffic source until you find a new layout that works.

What other people are getting is irrelevant. Unless you have the EXACT same squeeze page and the EXACT same traffic source then you really can't compare the two. Besides, a lot of those well known marketers quoting those stats are getting a lot of their traffic from JV partners and affiliates. This traffic is bound to convert better since it is referral traffic.

More than likely it has something to do with your traffic source. Where did those 2000 viewers come from and where they targeted to your squeeze page offer?

Yeah, I know I've learned over the years that what the gurus tell you in situations like this is not always the whole truth. When I do ad swaps or JVs my conversions are significantly higher and its my guess this is where they get their numbers they quote.

Currently I'm only marketing in two niches IM and self-help. My IM conversions have plummeted from squeeze pages that as I said a year ago were doing great. Still using the same traffic source (Clixsense PTC ads).

I've tested all varieties of squeeze page types with this traffic (plain text, graphical, video) and plain text still out does the other two.

My self help niche has seen a huge drop too and its always been a plain opt-in on a blog. My traffic has increased to the blog, but opt-ins are only about 1/2 of what they were in the past.

I've been using Clixsense PTC for over 2 years now with my IM niche and generally purchase 2k blocks of 30 sec ads. I tried adf.ly a few times and the conversions are pretty good but the subscribers are non-reactive. You are lucky if you see a 15% open rate with the first email on a campaign with adf.ly.

I guess 58 opt-ins for 2k of traffic is not too bad considering the over all cost is still less than $1 per subscriber and they are for the most part active subscribers. But it was nice when I was getting 500 - 750 opt-ins for the same amount of traffic.
