Blog commenting newbie!

You're going to have a really hard time getting that comment approved.

Are you commenting manually? Using Scrapebox to blast away at multiple sites?

If you're commenting on blogs that require manual approval I don't think you'll see much success. You need to make a comment that is relevant to the post and include your URL in the "Website" field. Nowhere else. If you're trying to create anchor text you could use Name @ Keywords. Though some blog owners won't accept it.

If you're blasting away with Scrapebox on auto approve blogs then you're probably fine. Just know that you probably won't see much traffic. Blog commenting isn't really about traffic, as much as it's about improving your site rankings.

Great way to get blog comments approved. Read article and make a relevant comment. Use the name field to enter your anchor text and use that as your link.

You'll see far greater results and most will actually appreciate it if you comment on the article and not some blatant irrelevant post.

Your comment must be USEFUL: it's content.

Here's a nutshell guide to creating comments which will be approved:

1. Have an opinion on the blog post on which you're commenting. A "Nice post" comment either gets deleted or is flagged as spam.

2. Share your opinion/ tips/ advice in the comment. Spend five to ten minutes on the comment (at least.) Consider that your comment becomes part of the blog's content -- it's forever, so it's worth spending time on...

I rarely post comments on blogs because I don't have time to read them. But if you commit to a comment, make it a good one. Become part of the blog's community, just as you're part of the community here.

3. Keep track of your blog comments, and the responses. You should have a list of blogs on which you're commenting and on which you're aiming to become part of the community.

4. Forget the links. If you write great comments, you'll get the links, anyway. :-)

Yes, I know. It all sounds like a lot of work.

Consider however that if you take commenting seriously, you can win many benefits. You'll make great friends in the blogging community, and friends help friends.

In short, when commenting, give first. And keep giving...

yes we use to blog comment wrong, you need to use nice anchor text for your backlinks and rankings. You will get better results with this.

Most blog owners reading that will already have hit the "delete comment" key before even reading the rest of your comment, because it's an absolutely classic "spammer line". (Especially the exclamation points!).

And anyone still reading will delete at that point. :rolleyes:

The aim of blog commenting is to make value-adding comments. Otherwise you have no chance of getting them published.

Imagine that you're the owner of the blog and just ask yourself "is this comment something that I'm happy to publish because it clearly adds value to my site?".

Whatever you say needs to be relevant to the place where you say it, and add value to the site. If you look as if you're there to advertise/promote something, you have no chance at all. Blog commenting is a time-consuming and thoughtful business. If it isn't, you won't get any links out of it.

I think the effectiveness of the "blog commenting" as a linkback (or traffic) method is over-rated, especially, in ebooks sold for newbies... sorry.

It was the main cause of the comment spam - and every decent blog owner makes sure that comments like the one you posted above will be deleted mercilessly.

I, as other bloggers, like a good conversion below my posts, seeing meaningful comments about the topic I wrote... from real people that visit my blog because of my content. Anything else is noise, garbage, spam, sh*t... and will be treated accordingly.

My blog would put your comment automatically into the "pending" = most likely spam queue because anything with a link in it gets killed by my settings

If you don't read the posts and you don't participate REALLY in the conversions, don't even bother - you won't see any "results".

Istvan is right. Blog commenting is NOT for building links. It is an OK method to get started, but 1 link from a good, relevant site will beat 1000's of blog comments.

As everyone else have said: Offer something of value in your comments. Something people would like to read.. There is people on both sides, remember!

I would advise that you actually read the articles and comment adding a valid point. My approval rate for blog commenting is around 80%. It takes less than 5 minutes to skim an article and come up with enough information to make a point or two to make in your comment.

The easy route will be to find some auto approve blogs with high pr to place your comments on. And there are quite a bit out there that don't have 100's of spam comments on them.

there is no secret, its all about having a revelant comment that will get approved. I hate automate tools btw.

Okay thanks everyone, I shall change my approach and spend longer on each and every blog comment, I want to do about 50 quality blog posts later, then wait a bit and see if anything changes!

Blog commenting it's a game of patience!I agree with concept marketing..Try to find always what did you liked the most from the article and talk about that.People will appreciate you if say more than "it helped me a lot".Write about how it helped you specifically..give some reasons there..Be honest with what you..people sense a liar very fast.
Secondly,comment only on blogs related to your niche.It's more easy to say smthing about the things you already know.When you add your link make sure that it points to a related article.Thus,a lot of traffic will come to a specific post of yours and will create a strong backlink.

Finally,do it often.I seek to at least 5 blogs daily.In time the number will grow

I agree with all the others. It really is something that drives me nuts - spammy comments on my blog and I have NO mercy these days. They are deleted immediately. I used to leave some, but not now. If you're going to comment, make it worth while - don't waste your time or the blog owners time.

You will definitely have a hard time getting post approval if you don't work on the quality and usefulness of your post. Before you comment make sure that you have a full understanding on the article you are reading and if you can relate to it you can always say your opinions that can be of help for the author.

I personally don't rely much on blog commenting, most of them are no-follow and those which are do-follow never approve the comment.. Its just waste of time I guess.

don't use canned comment for the blog post. they are not related to the topic which is covered in the post and the author treat it like spam and remove it..so try to discuss the topic in a natural way.

This blog commenting strategy works great for catching attention of both readers and bloggers. You need to actually know what you are talking about. Make sure your comment adds a great insight, another solution to the problem stated in the post, a few more points to the post list, an alternative point of view. You can even start a debate, just make sure you can back it up.

Essentially make sure you add value in your comment, actually read through the post and make your comment based on that. Leave your url in the website section with your keyword as your name (depending on: 1 - are other people doing it? 2 - will it look spammy).

A copy and pasted job will be just as bad as a spam bot, it will just get deleted.

It's very easy to spot these comments!

Just post relevant comment to the blog and it would be better if you will contribute more good insights about the discussed topic on the blog/article.

Your website is not going to be beneficial if other web sufferers don't know about its existence. There are many ways you can promote your site online but link building has proves to be the most effective among the all. Because proper link building helps your site to rank higher in the search engines result pages. If you are looking for the most effective way of getting not just traffic but targeted traffic to your site then you must have to look in the direction of link building.

Some focused effort while time of blog commenting will give good result. So need to full focused on it because it really a cool part of off page seo.

Many have said it before and my take is to leave genuine comments that add to the content of the blog - not any old general comment that says - "this is great" and definitely not copying the same comment onto different blogs just for the sake of getting some links or traffic.

You can add your own view, your experience or learning of the subject in question an add value that way.

When your comment is perceived as helpful and valuable, you will have people visiting your link since they would want more (which is in the sign up section and not in the body of the comment). People go where the food is ...

You should read the article firstly.Then you should make a relevant answer.After this do blog commenting.Because relevant comments approve fastly.

You should be trying to add something unique and relevant to the blogs, not an ad. Good luck with it all though

If you want to skip the article, just read other comments and see what's been approved, then just mix a few of those comments into your own and that should work too (if you're too lazy to read the article that is).

This is a Scrapebox candidate if I've ever seen one. Just use good Spinnable comments with your Fiverr gigs as anchor text with the links. Use a Bit.ly or other shortURL to track your response to the comments.

you look at comments as a way to insert a link to your site... start looking at the comment section of blogs and forums from the site owners perspective... The owner wants good, quality content and any comment should add to that content. If you post with this in mind and add quality to the website... the owner will surely let a link slide!
