No Money, No Direction, No Mentor

I have no job and cannot get a job as my mother is sick and needs care 24/7. I have purchased 7 domains and hosting.I have 5 articles on one site 1 each on 2 others while 4 sites have no articles in them. I have least knowledge of SEO, keyword research and backlinking etc. I have no money to invest to buy those Guru courses to learn the stuff. My only skill is article writing ( Not SEO optimized). I really need to start making money online as our finances are in a mess. I would highly appreciate if any fellow warrior member comes forward to help me. I cannot pay you anything but can wish success for you too in your job or business.

In your situation, it's not easy; you need to take it one step at a time.

First off, look for ways to get paid for your skills / time - whether it's writing articles, doing link building, maintaining or creating websites, forum posting, etc. You're not going to earn big money there, but getting even $100 or $200 from this kind of activity is better than getting nothing.

Second, focus your remaining time on learning. If you're willing to spend the time, you don't need to spend any more money. This forum alone has a lot of good stuff; there are other sources which can teach you what to do.

Once you've got some income coming in, plus some learning - you can start trying out the different methods of earning to start earning bigger amounts.

    Best wishes.

If you have a talent for writing, there is strong demand for services. The pay can be modest but most people will pay you by Paypal so you can get money quickly. Consider placing an ad in the For Hire section of this forum. Also do a search on article writers and will find sites who sell custom articles to webmasters, etc. Many of them are looking for new writers to keep up with demand. The work is out there but you have to make your presence known. Good luck and don't give up

    Hi Sidcandid

Sorry to hear about your situation.

But the obvious answer it to offer your article writing services. You can do that here on the WF. If you can knock out 20-25 quality articles a day you can at least earn some income. Have a look at the the Warrior For Hire section here:

    Warriors For Hire

to give you some ideas about pricing and delivery.

Hope that helps and good luck.

        Sorry that's not true.

People without English as their first language but with some SEO knowledge can optimise the articles themselves.

        Don't make up excuses.

You sound very defeatist at the moment. You need to be more positive. You can write articles for people, just let them know they will have to optimise them themselves.

Ok, lets move this forward. How much do you want for an article, without any optimisation?

I have no idea what the current rates are. I can write 1-2 articles a day each of about 500 words. For that I would be happy If I get $3-$4. Don't know if the rate is appropriate though.

Right. That rate is very low.

From the grammar side of things you write very well.

I'll be willing to buy a few off you, I'll pay more than you said and if I think they're good I'll help you start up in the warriors for hire section and leave you a testimonial.

I don't normally do this and I pay people that write me articles a good sum of money but if this helps you out and gets you started, that's good enough for me.

                Sid,

Might I suggest scheduling time for at least a few articles weekly for yourself? Keep posting to the sites you have. They may not make anything now but they can only grow in value if you keep adding unique content to them.

Put Adsense or Amazon, or whatever, on the sites. It may add up slowly but it does add up. All your efforts will have an accumulative effect.

        Sid,

        Here is some help.

To write an SEO'd article here are the steps that you take:
        1) You will be given a Keyword by the person paying. This is normally long tail, something like: "teach your dog to sit". This is what we will be SEO'ing for.

        2) Go to google. Type in "Keyword Tool" and the first thing that comes up should be: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

        3) Now type your keyword phrase into this tool. This will give you loads of ideas for other keywords sorted by relevance. So take the top few of these. In this case:

how to train your dog to sit
how to teach your dog to sit
        teaching your dog to sit
        etc etc

        4) When you write the article, use the main keyword phrase 1-3 times per 100 words (it used to be 3-5 times but even this can look a bit spammy now) and add some of these other relevant phrases where possible. Use a variety and as many as you can whlist still maintaining the flow of the article.

You now know how to write SEO'd articles.

Hope this helps in the future. Really sorry about your situation

Sid, I see you are in India.

For an Indian, your English is excellent. I can understand you must look after your Mother. Do you have any family that can also assist you from time to time?

I would recommend, as I always do to people that don't have a clear direction but want to learn, to go to challenge.co and do the course. It's by Ed Dale who for all intents and purposes would be considered a guru and the course is totally free.

You can also do as has been suggested and write articles for others for whom English may not be their strong points.

The main thing to remember is you may not be able to see a way out now but I assure you there is one. You just need to keep trying to find it.

            Sid -

Take the "can't" and "don't know" out of you vocabulary. You have a good grasp of English and you can earn money writing and perhaps with other methods as well.

Do a google search for this term:

            keyword optimizing article

There are several excellent (FREE) tutorials that will help you understand how to use keywords in an article. It's not hard to do - the English is what hurts many writers...and you already have that hardest part under control.

            Good work, Richard.

So it seems people are only willing to help out people with a "story." I do not mean any disrespect to Sid, as I respect his decision to look after his family. However, on to my point, writers like me cannot succeed here because we can't post our services. Sure a lot of people here are "rich" and have money to spend, but I do not. I do not have the resources to buy a subscription or pay to list my JV or service. My paypal account consists of money I earned online, and I only use this money online. It's my way of ensuring I am not spending the money I have in my BA for online ventures. I am a college student, who cannot find a summer job, so I looked to writing and data entry to make some money and help with the bills. Times are tough and having to pay a fee to do anything worthwhile on this site is a big crime.

I don't think this is the case ^

In fact I started on here and owe a HUGE amount to the Warrior forum.

You only have to look at the Warriors services section to SEE the amount of writers that are making money on the Warrior forum.

" I do not have the resources to buy a subscription or pay to list my JV or service."

            Why do you need too?

Unfortunately I think you are looking at this wrong.

You don't have to pay any fee to get clients.

Why not email as many affiliate blogs as you can that are updated regularly and ask if they need content?

Why not try Elance.com, Guru.com etc...

Put your services in your signature.

Then once you get a few jobs you have some money to "invest" in your business and advertise here.

I wish Google Adwords were free too but it is not a crime that they are paid?

Paying does help... but you know... I got my first writing gig from the Wanted section. I got the money to post my Warriors for Hire thread because I was asking questions about article writing (no story, just asking for tips) and I got a PM from a wonderful guy who offered me $20 worth of work if I would spend the money on my Warriors for Hire thread.

With just a link to my website in my signature I was getting tons of orders!

This forum is a great place, you just have to get involved so people notice you.

Just imagine if members can post Warrior For Hire threads for free. That section will be flooded with so many threads it will be hard for people to find enough clients for their services.

Some people think that the Warrior Forum owes us something because a forum needs members to survive. Actually, we owe the Warrior Forum a thousand times more than it owes us (if it owes us anything at all). The education that we get from this forum is superb and we get access to help from seasoned and golden-hearted Internet marketers, like Richard. This forum is where a lot of successful Internet marketers started their careers. So instead of whining, I think we ought to be thankful for what Warrior Forum has to offer. If we can't afford to pay for the advertising thread, then we should look for ways to earn the money. We can go to Fiverr and its clone sites and to freelance websites like oDesk and Elance. We can even sell articles at Constant Content. Warrior Forum has already given us a hand -- let's not demand the entire arm to be given to us as well (It's a saying in my country).

To sidcandid, I just want to let you know that I am rooting for you. And Richard Van, your kindness is inspiring. I wish both of you the best.

SidCandid: Try Constant Content. You can sell an article for as much as $50, but it takes a while before you can sell anything. Just make sure that your articles are well-written and are free from grammatical and spelling errors. In your spare time, you can write articles and put them up for sale on CC. Best of luck to you!

            Stop complaining.

There are people that have it much worse than you.

You constantly are putting other members down and bashing other
Copywriters in the Copywriting section. You need to realize how you
sound - that could be your reason why you haven't had much clients.

If you want respect, start respecting others.

And you know what, I've known people that were desperate for money,
but they never complained. NOT ONCE. They cleaned toilets, they went
out and collected soda cans - They did what they had to do to support
            themselves and their family.

I don't think it was the "story" at all. I think it was merely the fact that Sid was willing to reach out for honest help. He didn't come across as if we SHOULD help him or if he DESERVED our help, he just simply asked for advice.

You, on the other hand, come off as if you feel we owe you something. No one here owes anyone anything, and I think it's awesome how certain warriors come to the aid of those in need.

And perhaps if you would stop complaining for a moment you would realize that several warriors on this thread helped you too by listing places you could advertise or find work for free.

You can defiantly make $3-4 dollars a day or more writing articles. Post your services up here on WF, use Fiverr, put your services on other IM forums, oDesk, etc.

Don't have that negative attitude. The first step is to make those threads promoting your services and to link to them in your signature.

If you don't do anything, then nothing will happen. Nothing leads to nothing, something leads to something.

So sorry to hear about your unforturate situation. I myself was in a sticky situation a few months back and since joining the forum have started to build myself back up.
If article writing is your skill then I suggest applying for some jobs as a content writer. If you are from the states check out TextBroker or perhaps consider listing a fiverr gig for example 400 word article in any niche for $5.
I picked up some writing jobs when I was down to zero to try to build up my funds again. I looked on Digital Points forum as there are alot of writing jobs there.

Once you have built up some funds I suggest working on those sites. Get some content on them. Perhaps consider flipping them.

    Hope this helps

Yeah It makes since what Awpimus is saying. There is a fee of entry to even be able to sell article services here and I believe this thread was started because he has not much funds.

But you can try digitalpoint and WF, they don't charge for threads in the buy sell section and they are pretty active there as well.

Times ARE tough. This doesn't mean you're entitled to anything. Sorry if this comes off a bit harsh, but it's the truth. Sid explained his problem and a respected Warrior with the ability to help him out offered him SOME help. Do you think Richard (or any other Warrior for that matter) just goes around putting their trust and hard-earned money on a newcomer all willy-nilly?

Why don't you analyze the REASON Richard decided to offer this type of help to someone new? Sure, the situation he described might be a small part of it. However, I'm willing to bet that Richard took the gamble because he saw that Sid had a genuine want to WORK for the money. He just didn't know how or what to do.

My hat's off to Richard for being such a cool guy. I've seen his posts around the forum and he is always ready to offer advice and help whenever he can.

Not true at all. While a Warriors for Hire thread does help you get started faster because it brings more eyeballs to your service, it is not NEEDED to "start here."

Your signature is FREE advertisement. I've seen people who got started offering writing services here with NO Warriors for Hire thread.

Again, I don't want you to think I'm coming at you. I'm simply telling you to look at things differently. Don't be so pessimistic and instead look for solutions. It's easy to complain and feel we "deserve" things.

Hope the following helps you and anyone else who thinks you cannot get started for free:
      1. Create a blogger blog. On the homepage will be the sales pitch for your service (in your case, writing articles).
      2. Create a SAMPLES page and put up some sample work. 2-5 articles of varying lengths. I'd recommend 400-600 words.
      3. If you've created content for other websites, ask for their permission to link to it from your blog. Let them know this is you trying to build your portfolio.
      4. If you've created work for others, ask for a testimonial and put it up in a "testimonials" page. If you don't have a testimonial yet, don't make such a page until you've got some.
      5. Create a PRICES page where you'll list your price for X amount of words. Decide if you'll offer bulk discounts for packs of 5 or 10 articles.
      6. Create a CONTACT page and list the best ways to order from you. You could integrate a Paypal link right on the page, or have people email/Skype you before ordering to discuss their projects.
      7. Include the link to your new blog on your signature here on the forum (and any other forums you participate in).
      8. Contribute to the forum. The more you post, the more your signature will be working for you bringing you potential customers. Notice I said CONTRIBUTE.

Now all you gotta do is wait for orders to come in. As soon as you make $20 from that writing service, invest it into your own Warriors for Hire thread.

Unfortunately I have had to resort to other communities to offer my services.

      Pete
All very good tips. Just to build on what Pete said...

      1) Try to work the keyword in the title.
      2) Try to include the keyword in the first sentence of the first paragraph.
      3) Depending on the length of the article, include the keyword 1-3 more times in the body paragraphs or in sub-headings.
      4) Include the keyword in the last paragraph. Some people say at the beginning, some say it's best to include it in the very last sentence. Either way should be fine as long as it doesn't sound forced.

      Much luck Sid.

Just a quick one from me but many thanks to everyone for the kind words I've received here, it's very humbling.

Please do remember though, there are always those worse off than you and all I've done is what we should all be doing.

On that note I'm pleased to say Sids article was very good considering English isn't his first language, he has excellent customer service and was extremely willing and prompt. I will certainly help him get this off the ground. He deserves it.

Once again many thanks for the kind words but what I did wasn't kind at all, just quite normal really. Well done to everyone else that has helped Sid as well.

Now, I'm off to buy a new hat, the one I had is now too small for my head.

Kudos to you for helping someone though man - I WISH it were normal but marketing as you know toughens you up a bit, and awesome of you to give someone the benefit of the doubt like that.

Let me add a quick nugget from my article marketing experience (which seemed like a lifetime ago! )

Take the main keyword phrase that you will use for your article and enter it on Google. Now go to the bottom of the page and look at the suggested phrases which will be under where it says "Searches related to xxxx"

If you can incoporate 2-3 of those suggested phrase in your article, you will be doing wonders for your article, from an SEO standpoint!

    Hi
I am overwhelmed at all the wonderful response from fellow warriors to this thread. I think this is great community and this thread is a goldmine for me of inspiration and knowledge. I have a small problem though. I would appreciate if anyone can help me out. There are two other users who have offered me work apart from Richard. They have PMed me but I couldn't revert back as I don't have 50 forum posts. One of those two users is still online. Is it possible to contact that person? I don't want that person to think that I am not interested to work for them.

Sid, get yourself Skype and add it to your profile. Makes it way easier to discuss projects with clients and gives them a way to contact you.

You can try leaving the two people a visitor message instead of a PM. I'm not sure if there's a limit on posts for that or not, so it may not work.

there are also other ways of making money - check out fiverr

I understand your frustration, I've been there before.

    Here's what I did:
    1. Go to internet marketing forum, warrior forum or any other forum.
    2. Post thread to sell my service, few service I listed are : Script installation, Wordpress installation, plugin installation.
    3. You can also write articles, write comments etc. try to browse through other popular service and offer the same service if you can do that.
    4. Post as many service you can handle
    5. Use the money, save some for reinvestment.
For urgent money, I won't rely on SEO, it would be too long to get result. Stick to services and look for more advance services to offer so you can earn more money.

When you get the chance, outsource as soon as possible so you can have more free time, then learn Media buy, PPC, PPV etc. to promote affiliate marketing.

Hey, Sid, where are you from India, I am from Bombay. I would really motivate you to learn how to write an seo optimized article. I have a tutorial written to train my writers to write articles, just PM me and I can forward you the link to the tutorial, it is free as I have written it for my writers.

Article writing is something you can learn in 2 days and get started writing articles. Then I would advise you to go in warrior for hire section and also sites like elance, freelancer, rentacoder and several others where you can get people to hire you to write articles. There you can even get simple jobs like typing, audio recording, converting an audio into pdf, etc. That will start making you instant money.

Then you can focus part time on learning internet marketing and grow from there. If you wish to learn internet marketing and don't have money there are several free courses online. As you are from India, just PM me and I will forward you one of my ebooks I sell for $97 for free, it will help you to learn a complete internet business process, it's a gift from me to you as part of the warrior forum.

This should get you started. Also based on your posts I have realised that you are afraid to learn something new. If this is the kind of mindset you keep you will never come ahead. If you don't know how to write articles, just go to google and you should get sufficient information that will train you how to do that. Learn it and people will pay you for your skills. You don't know SEO, learn it, it is not rocket science. There are plenty of free courses online, you need to look and take the pain to find them out.

I encourage you to start learning new things and this will start making you money and grow slowly and steadily....
