Article marketing is a drag

Yep I've got my article indexed on my site. I think I just need to build up being able to do it faster too.. I've spent ages fixing broken code and reading the terms of service so I don't get it auto disapproved. Since I'm such a newbie it's a little overwhelming.

Don't just wait for your articles to get approved in article directories. Consider other more targeted outlets such as relevant ezine publishers, websites, blogs, etc. You may find these to have faster conversion results.

I'm not a Wordpress user.

I have a list in my word-processor, arranged niche-by-niche, showing keywords, date written and published on my site, date indexed (that's usually the next day - it might be the same day but I don't check until the next day), which is the same as date it's submitted to EZA (and possibly to one other directory), date published in EZA (again that can easily be the same day but I submit at night and don't check until the next morning, so I record it as the next day) and so on. I give each article a little "reference-number" (like the Dewey decimal system, so I can always add things in, anywhere, without anything getting out of order) and I have another list in reference-number order recording their syndication.

I don't need most of that in the sense that my income doesn't depend on it: I just do it from habit. Maybe it helps me to be organised. :confused:

I subscribe to Carbonite (automated online back-up system) so my word-processor documents are always backed up automatically.

I only submit each article to EZA and either GoArticles or ArticlesBase, so that's no problem for me.

I do actually have a word-processor document which records my log-in and password information everywhere, but I can remember those.

There's no point at all in submitting to more article directories than that.

There are people who submit to many hundreds with automated submission software (I used to, before I knew what I was doing) but the backlinks aren't worth having. For me. Others can decide for themselves. :p :rolleyes:

It varies from niche to niche. Many aren't authority sites in the sense that Wikipedia is an "authority site". But they're well-established, high-quality sites in the niche which have huge numbers of highly targeted readers, so they're "where you want to be" if you're an article marketer. And having a copy deposited in EZA is one way of getting there, because of course that's why EZA exists, and publishers wanting content for ezines/websites do tend to look there first.

But nobody using article marketing should rely solely on others syndicating their work from EZA. You need to be "pro-active" about it, identify potential sites/blogs/ezines in the niche and get busy offering them content, too. (Loads of publishers are looking for high-quality content).

That said, I admit that many people who are now (for my purposes) "part of my syndication network" I did originally find/meet when they first syndicated one or more of my articles from EZA, and I follow them up assiduously (and that "record-keeping" - however you do it - is far more important than what's mentioned above!).

Sorry, I don't know this niche - but I'd guess "home safety tips", "home insurance (discounts for having safety equipment)", "fire-risk", "domestic security", this sort of thing? I'd be checking out "related searches" on Google, and so on, to see what people are looking for. You'll have done this (and/or similar stuff) already, if you're in the niche?

Product reviews, I would think, would be more for your own site than for syndication (although you never know your luck).

Call me an optimist, but I always assume you can get anything syndicated easily enough, if you write for syndication (that's obviously essential!). It hasn't let me down so far.

Article marketing is a way to promote your site. I am looking at traffic methods and that and 2.0 properties are biggies.

Just some suggeestion here, you can hire a warrior freelancer to write an article, normally the cost can be quite reasonable about $5 per 500 words.

Then submit 1 article per day, don't bother when they going to approve. After 2 weeks you might have 14 articles submit in queue right, then let say an article take about 7-10 days to approve, and after 2 week time, everyday you will have automatic 1 article approve per day.

what you need to do is just keep on write and submit 1 articles per day consistency, and the article directory will approve your article everyday consistency.

You have a good niche with your Aspergers Syndrome awareness site. Why not put more attention into it?

You have a strong youtube channel, but you have not combined your youtube channel and your Aspergers Syndrome site?

You have block A - your website

But you have not used those building blocks to build anything? It looks like they are just sitting there underutilized.

This is complete bollocks, and I don't mind saying so given the number of times this statement has been discredited already. Article marketing is not dead, it isn't dying, and it not about to start dying in the foreseeable future.

Article marketing can be one of the very fastest ways to get highly targeted traffic, opt-ins and sales. Get your articles syndicated in targeted ezines and you can have a flood of targeted traffic within a few hours.

This is also completely wrong.

All the "PR" measures is the page rank of a directory's home page, but your articles don't go on their home pages. All article directory backlinks are non-context-relevant, PR-0 (or "PR not available") backlinks. They're as far from being a "quality link" as Alpha Centauri is from our own solar system. In link-juice terms, they're just about as low as you can get. 100,000 of those backlinks and $3.50 will buy you a cappuccino at Starbucks.

That's true, but it's a reason to use Ezine Articles rather than ArticlesBase.

Who wants their work to appear in a directory where absolutely anything will be accepted? Where's the gain in that? The backlink value, the traffic potential and the syndication chances are ALL worse, that way. However you look at it, whatever your perspective, whatever your reason for using an article directory, you're worse off.

Call me a pedantic skepchick but some of the "information"/"advice" in this thread really does beggar belief ... it's not surprising so many people wrongly imagine that article marketing's dying, when you look at their apparent information sources ...

Most of the successful, professional article marketers I know don't regard "improving your website Google PR" as a primary function of article marketing at all, but simply as something that's going to be an inevitable additional benefit of having their work syndicated to relevant sites for the purpose of attracting highly targeted traffic.

The best places to submit your articles are: where ever your target market visits. It's really not any more complicated than that. This is not rocket science, despite for whatever reason others may try to make it appear to be so.

As I posted earlier in this thread consider posting your articles in targeted outlets such as relevant ezine publishers, websites, blogs, etc. You may find these targeted outlets to have faster conversion results than any other free marketing method. The benefits of backlinks are secondary, or as in my highly competitive niches, SEO and SERPs are entirely irrelevant.

For example, over the years I have developed a syndicated network of now over 25,000 outlets. Every article I write generates an average additional $5,000 - $7,000 in revenue each month when fully distributed within this network. This is what we mean by article syndication - leveraging your articles to be all they can be.

But I have thousands of articles all in different niches. When you have over 300 I think you really start to see some good results. More subscribers and more results. Now when i post to EA it takes about 24 hours and its live up and running. But it was a lot of hard work to get to that status.

JUst keep adding, and submitting quality. i was told EA editors will even put your article up quicker if it is top notch. In fact some warrriors in here can confirm this even with a new account, its not the new account it always comes back to posting something of high calibre.

I find that a lot of articles work well the first week or so, but after they "lose" some of that first page power (e-zine articles), they don't work as well at all.
