My First $60 day with Amazon :-)

It's just content reviews and haven't done too much backlinking. Somehow Google likes it so far.

I have other sites not promoting Amazon but a couple got hit with Panda. Doing about 1/3 or 1/2 of the income and traffic.

Well, in my eyes, investment in content is still giving a good roi, even with the panda sites.

When I first started building Amazon sites I would calculate how many posts I needed in order to make $100/day based on the initial success. The number was something greater than 1000 posts - which was more than intimidating. However, as my initial reviews began to age and see better rankings overall and as I continued to add content, that number dropped rapidly. Eventually I hit that number with less than 100 reviews on a site. My guess is that you won't need 400 reviews in order to see 10 times your current earnings. Just keep growing your site, add backlinking to your strategy, and continue to refine the conversion rate of your material by testing your link types and placement. Good luck!


This question comes up a lot and I think it's important to make a distinction of the different approaches to review sites based on your specific mention of Google seeing "reposting of the same content".

There are review sites that regurgitate information found elsewhere. Some include nothing more than the same product information found on Amazon. Then there are review sites where the content is significantly unique and could not be classified as a simple "reposting of content".

I've seen review sites done in many different ways but regardless of the method used, you can find plenty of them in the top rankings for great keywords even after Panda. I have several that were never impacted at all by Panda and have since even gained ground on new keywords. SEO, backlinking and quality of content still play a major role in ranking a review site and not necessarily in that order.
