I think it is very low. I don't think it's because it's difficult to make money but it can be difficult to find the right strategy and then stick with it. Most people flounder around a bit and then give up.

If you take this seriously and learn as much as you can and then apply a consistent strategy you can make money at this. It may not be $10K per day initially but it can certainly be a nice 2nd income.

Good luck figuring that one out. Just go to some other forums and listen to all the big ballers bragging about making a zillion dollars. If the first thing someone tells you is how much they make, take it with a grain of salt.

The people who do very well do not need to brag about it.

Yeah it would be impossible to figure out, but if I could guess I'd say 10%.

I think most people don't have the discipline to follow through with their plans. Making money online takes time! I've been doing it for a couple years now, and while I am making money, I'm still not to the point where I want to be. Of course that boils down to the business decisions I've made...

For those of you not making money yet, I suggest write out a plan and stick to it. You'll regret it later on if you keep shifting your focus on new projects.

I hope not! But I guess it could be considering how many people try affiliate marketing and never make any money.

Truth is though that it's not THAT hard to make money online. Just about anyone can write articles for revenue sharing sites and make some change. I did this before I knew anything about internet marketing.

I agree with you Dan. If you keep shifting focus you wont get anywhere. I use to buy many things promising to make me lots of money and it finally came down to one guy who was basically teaching a majority of what he has learned for free. Since then I have stuck with him and I'm trying to learn everything to take me to the next level. Hope I succeed.

I've heard that 99% of affiliate marketers fail, and this is what most people tend to try, if they want to make money quickly, but it never works out well if you're trying to make money quickly without knowing what you're doing. Personally, I just want an extra two or three hundred a week, and I'll be doing well. I'm starting to make the most from quick Fiverr gigs.

I think there is a word missing here - consistently makes money.

Many people make some money online but what you need is to see the money on a consistent basis and know that you can increase the amount.

    Easy...

The success rate is 100% for those who make it their
business to learn the skills required then diligently apply
those skills on a consistent daily basis.

For those who don't the success rate is zero.

I made money online a few years back... before I knew what "internet marketing" even was (in the traditional sense)... I've said it before, and I'll say it again - most if it is just common sense!

... if people just focused on doing 1 thing at a time, they wouldn't suffer from "information overload" which seems like a cop out to me.

Yup, but the problem is that many people looking to start internet marketing from scratch have zero idea about that concept of building a product first. Most are told to pick a product, build a site, write a bucketload of articles pointing to that site and retire. That is one almighty mountain, with loads of tracks leading off the main route.

Then, if they have stuck it out long enough to get to the top of that mountain and realize that they should have their own product they are either burned out or broke.

I would wager that only 1.234% actually make it past most of the learning curves and shiny things.

Did you pull that figure out of thin air?

I know, but there are people who keep on buying products jumping from system to system... without it ever occurring to them that each piece is just a cog in the machine.

People get excited about products they have no need for... and pile it up on their computers. Eventually, they just quit (I've tried to show a few people how to do it, but their patience runs out very quickly, compared to me anyway lol).

        Anyway, it's an old discussion.

I gave up caring a long time ago. I just focus on growing my own enterprise and keeping an eye on what the competition is doing. You can get some idea by looking up statistics posted by research companies and the Internal Revenue Service, but even those figures won't give you a real accurate picture.

  • I started doing this since march 2011, and at first don't expect much, focus on getting traffic to your site. Thats what I did at the same time learning more and more on seo. since that I have now 3 websites, one made in march, the other made in may and the one in July. So far, I have made 1,000 which, I'm pretty darn happy about. Hard work does pay off.. and its getting better from here. What I see time and time again....

I think 20-30%. Any less and I think there wouldn't be an explanation for the sheer amounts of people that are interested in Internet Marketing. I'm sure most of the successful people don't even post their stories - they just do their system every day and go enjoy their life. That's why it's hard to tell.

That is both wishful and flawed thinking. People don't flock to IM because it works. If it worked for one in five people this forum would have at least a billion online at all times instead of just thousands. Rather, people come to IM because they think its an easy way to get rich. They don't realize that it is a real business that just happens to be online. People eventually realize this and then either adjust and prosper, or fail and leave. If I had to put a percentage I would say 3-4% make money online.

It's probably around 5 or 10%, the same percentage who are successful at anything.

5 to 10% of obese people manage to lose and keep off the weight.

5 to 10% of drug addicts quiet.

5 to 10% of investors beat the averages.

5 to 10% of business are still around after 10 years.

If anything it'd be lower on the internet because so many people come into it and don't have a serious approach.

I know a lot of people disagree with me when I say this, but I think the worst thing you can do is come in and try to make a "nice second income".

If your not trying to go big with it, your not going to have the commitment to make anything of it.

I've been at this for several years and in the last few got really serious and just crossed seven figures in sales, and mid five in profits for this fiscal year.

But it takes discipline and focus.

When my friends are out having a good time, I'm working. I piss my wife off a lot because I'm working. When I have a launch going on I can put in 100 hours in a week for 2 weeks in a row.

Most of the top people I know are similar (though not all of them).

Just like anything worth having, you have to buy it and pay for it, though the cost is mostly not paid in dollars and cents.

1000's lets try 10's of thousands.

Considering many of the "CB frauducts" sell in excess of 16k copies per launch.

IM is slowly becoming more integrated with "Bizopp" which means there are a lot more people at an even earlier stage than someone who may be new to the warrior forum.

At lease they know about the warriorforum, many very very starters do not even know forums exist to help with this.

At the end of the day it comes down to exactly what someone mentioned above.

You can pick basically anything that requires actual work and consistent action, and the numbers will be quite small on those who actually do it or are able to follow through until the end.

    Unfortunate but true.

Seeing though the success from those that do make it is truely awesome and great to see how it can completely transform someones life.

Hmmmm, it is difficult to set percentage on making money online, because the argument here is not about the percentage of making money, it's about the percentage of a person's determination and hard work. I mean, the percentage of earning online solely depends on the person's action.
We cannot set the success rate of earning online base on the niches, strategies and so on. They are constant variables in the equation; the outcome always relies on the effort, time and determination of a person to earn money. No matter how high a niche's rate of success in surveys, but if a person doesn't have this strong determination to earn, that high rate of success is will eventually turns zero.
If I was to answer the question, I would say if you gave 100%, then your earning's rate would be the same.

You guys are correct, it is a pretty small percentage. even less than 5% of people that make more than $1,000 a month online.

I watched a video from John Chow where he gave a presentation to a small group of people and shared his entire online strategies. He mentioned that it took a good few years to learn, but he also stated that most people don't have what it takes in order to get over the "hump"

It really is possible to make decent money online, even if it's a few thousand a month. However, a person needs to be smart, and totally up to date on what's going on in the IM world. The 80/20 rule truly applies here. If you focus on the real quality 20%, you'll get 80% of business from those efforts.

The bottom line is that it takes flat out hard work. and if you're willing to put the work into it. researching, figuring things out etc. You will make money
