Can We Get Warrior Forum Tapatalk Enabled Please!!

I have the iPhone and tapatalk is freaking amazing for browsing forums.

I love the Warrior Forum, and I will love it beyond any love if this forum was Tapatalk enabled.

If it were enabled I would be on it much more and contribute alot more!!

I am sure alot of Warriors feel the same!

Thanks

I have never seen a form using it. However, I was just checking it out and it looks pretty interesting. That would be something I would consider putting on a couple of my niche forms.

I use it all the time, it's on pretty much every big forum these days.

        Hi owslaw123,

thats not entirely true. i visit WF about 60% of the time on my ipad. the only small issue is a few extra spelling mistakes or missing a space occasionally, but i dont think most view the majority of my posts any differently because they were typed via an ipad.
Just out of interest, what is the reason for you failing to capitalise 'I' and the word that you start each sentence with?

        Just seen this -

post deleted. but oddly enough it got posted in the correct thread also and the person it was intended for deleted the 3 straight posts they made

thats out of laziness when on my cpu. i am not a secretary and i dont think most are all that bothered by the fact that my english teacher would hang me for the way i type my posts.

that being said, i have never had anyone complain or make a big deal because the advice i give is usually solid advice.

and this post was typed via my cpu. the ipad corrects all that stuff for you automatically...kinda like advanced t9.

if this post were typed via my ipad it would not have the "errors" you are refering to.

            That's interesting.

In the thread I just linked to in my post above you claim that your cross-posting in the wrong thread was caused by posting on your ipad, and in that post you have the exact same "errors."

the auto correction (t9 ish) on the ipad is not perfect and it can be skipped over. so basically when you type (i) it will do a little popup type of thing. that little popup has something similar to an (x) close out box on it.

since the ipad is a touch device. when typing it is fairly easy to accidentally click this (x) closeout box on the auto correction suggestion that the ipad makes.

thus when you click the x box on the suggested correction, the correction is in fact cancelled and you just keep typing with the (i) not getting the suggested fix.

              any other questions mate.

the idea that this forum should only be used by those sitting at a desk it kinda (no, its very much old school)

let me say in closing ex rat. this is just a discussion and i am not bothered by or upset with your questions at all. i hope you feel the same way.

      Hi zugimon21,

      I hope not.

Generalising somewhat, people using mobile phones to communicate do so in a fundamentally different manner to those sitting quietly at a desk with a PC.

I'm pretty sure that the ensuing downgrade of the level of communication if this were enabled would be detrimental.

:/ you obviously havent seen the app in action.

its compatible with ipad, and browsing the forum is actually easier with the app then with a pc.

the app is compatible with vbulletin so I think it should work. The admins just need to enable it.

I can and do browse the warrior forum with my HTC EVO 3D phone and iPad fine. I've even posted on the iPad without any issues without having another battery sucking app running on the background so not sure what the app adds. I guess I would have to see it in action but the Warrior Forum looks fine to me on the iPad and my phone right now.

now this is where the younger crowd wins points with me. as much as i like the idea of trying out new stuff, if it can be implemented i get the feeling a very strong feeling that the owners of the site won't.

i will tell you why lol. for years i would get all types of information from the warriorforum, good solid information, over those years I never knew it was an active forum. the same with digital forum I always thought they were both dead, for some reason.

          now, here's a tip
when you see the old 50 post before you can pm, don't approve anyone to offer your product if they don't have at least 50 posts. you start to wonder if father time is sitting at the head of the board of directors hehe.

Dude It's Not Going To Happen, and that's sad.
But, I do thank you for passing the information, I'm going to research it and make sure all of my forums are up to speed. So I thank you and I truly mean that.

OK Grandpa... better go invest in carrier pigeons then.

Mate what are you even on bout?

You do realize that phones, pads and tablets are all business compatible. In fact most of the corporate mega giants use them on a daily basis. Most are standard H/W.

I totally get that being from the host nation for the Olympics and not having won any gold medals probably sucks like hell and your upset about that, but whatever is making you upset today doesn't need to be taken out on a good idea... OK that was harsh (sorry couldn't help myself, but then again I cant talk, look at the cricket).

That's like how HP and Atari said Apple wouldn't work, that's like how Fred Smith was told his idea for fed ex would never work. Did you know that a guy called Phillip Reiss had the idea for the telephone before Alexander Bell, he didn't go ahead with it because his colleagues told him it was a stupid idea. Mr bell then went on and invented it 15 years later.

I honestly think I have never seen something more ridiculous on this forum than what you have posted here. Knocking what is an excellent idea down because of something so stupid.

Oh look Boo Hoo! some grammar is going to be messed up, whatever who cares. I mean have you seen some of the English language FAILS on this forum -I mean I cant believe that some of the posts have not been featured on Engrish.com!

The last time I checked it was not a grammar forum, or a forum for the beloved pupils of the English language! Its a friggin online marketing forum! "Oh wait you mean ... on-LINE" "Yes on-LINE, like what you can do with tablets and mobile devices"... Gee what a great idea, I just hope that they get the speling right!

You may not have understood my underlying point.

It starts off as a trickle of incorrectly used grammar and can turn into a flood, due to the nature of the user, the mobile or noisy environment of the user and the ability to browse more quickly and easily, as you have pointed out.

Does the forum want more quality or quantity of posts? I can't speak for the forum in general, only myself.

I agree quality of posts may go down. But it all depends on the user and his or her style. Some users already prefer to post a small amount and with "bad grammer", but honestly if it is posted under a thread, where the subject of the thread is clear, the content will be relevant. And thats what matters. I mean take this thread for example

Don't get me wrong, you can make a short post and it can be great, however, I'd hazard a guess that most mini one line posts are useless post count boosters.

Ok now, lets not start a flame war on this thread.
I agree with ExRat. Just because some people use proper grammar when texting does not mean most do. Most people I know who text use "text speak" or "l33t speak" when they type on their mobile devices. Hell even I do it when I send my wife a text saying "I luv u".

By taking the focus of sitting down and thinking out your posts, I gaurantee you will see a degradation of the quality of posts. Many people are on the move with their mobile devices, and their focus is elsewhere. When your on a PC, your stationary for the most part and you can concentrate on the topic you are writing about.

HOWEVER, people can already post here on their mobile devices without the app. If the app makes the forums easier to navigate, and would improve the quality of what people are already doing, then I am all for it.

    Just my 2 cents

      Hi owslaw123,

I'll respond to you again, due to your PM and -

      wow...easy with the insults mate.
Go back to post #22 and read through your communication with me and see if you can understand why I responded in the manner that I did.

      Here are some clues -

Your first words to me were to quote my post that I prefaced with 'Generalising somewhat', with -

      thats not entirely true.
      Followed by stuff like -

      i am not a secretary
      leading to -

if this post were typed via my ipad it would not have the "errors" you are refering to.
Which suggests that your statement and premise is false, or you are lying about posting from your cpu - either way, you are proving my point for me about people posting from mobiles.

      Followed by -

      any other questions mate.
      When I didn't ask a question.

      Plus -

the idea that this forum should only be used by those sitting at a desk it kinda (no, its very much old school)

i use the ipad while sitting around the living room watching tv and it works out pretty well.

the fact is that the world is increasingly going mobile. and thats not a bad thing.

If you can't see the attitude (read - snarky, obstinate) in there then that's your issue. What I replied with weren't insults, they were accurate descriptions of the manner in which you were responding to me.

If you don't understand that it's rude and inconsiderate to reject the universally accepted standards of communication within a discussion medium such as this (particularly as your posting device auto-corrects but you don't bother to use it) and that the ultimate outcome is that people will ignore you, or you fail to see the irony of the fact that you are trying to argue that posting from mobiles doesn't cause a problem while you actually cause a problem while posting from a mobile (or demonstrate that those who use them tend to practice bad communication habits - as I asserted in the post you disagreed with) then that's your issue, not mine.

as someone who uses an ipad a lot, i am not sold on having an app for everything. the WF works just fine using the normal browsers on the ipad.

iphones and smaller devices are much different. there is no way to even think about putting together very serious responses other than "one liners".

i also have a smart phone and would never do much of anything on a forum other than check PM's or something like that on the super small screens.

i would think there really is no need for an app.

as for ex rat. man i said in my last post this was just a discussion. i am not sure why you decided to lower yourself to the point of personally insults against me. but to each his own.

    ex rat.

as far as i am concerned we are good. i do apologize if you took any of this to be an attack on you. i directly stated in the last line of that post that this was just a discussion.

i do think that there negatives to using forums via mobile devices, but as you so clearly point out there can be just as many negatives when people decide not to capitalize (i)

however, just like everything else around us, the mobile age is changing the world and the web. i dont like all the changes that the mobile world brings, but some are not that bad.

and as far as punctuation and such being a huge deal. i am pretty old school too, and i am much more bothered when reading a post that is clearly giving people bad information than i am by a few grammatical errors in a post that gives solid advice.

I think the idea that people are missing is that Tapatalk is a platform for forums. I think the name just turns people off, or it may just be the fact that you don't have any use for it. I know I'm not always around my computer or may not have my laptop with me. I always have my cell phone with me for the most part. It would be a big convenience to just pull out my phone and see whats going on here at WF without having to hassle with my browser. If I had a forum, I would want people to access it in any shape or fashion. Just my opinion as we are all entitled to one.

Many people on XDA-Developers use it. I think it can help us too.

I wish they would too! I LOVE the tapatalk app and use my mobile for business a lot of the time especially for emails.
Smart phones are so great for typing now with predictive text that it doesn't mean people talk in chat talk.

I would use the warrior forum much more if they were on the app as its so easy to use and saves a lot of time. Plus you can keep up to date with your favourite threads and stay logged in etc. Keep an eye on your own threads. Its great!

I think these grammar arguments are poor for the case for and against tapatalk enabling the forum. Someone can sit at a PC and create typo's, grammar mistakes and poor spelling just as easily.

Tapatalk just makes things easier when accessing a forum especially on a form factor device, its free for the forum admins and it makes life easier. Don't know about you but I'm all for making my life easier.

I think that WF should embrace the technology. I am a very active member of xda-developers and I use their app which is based on tapatalk and I love it. I think the members here would love it as well. Spelling mistakes are a part of any forum and its something that you just have to deal with. That is such a poor argument for not wanting to see the app being used.

Tapatalk is better for me than actually visiting the forums, easier to navigate and identify threads i've participated in and stuff. I would really like to see Warrior in tapatalk. I know lots don't seem to want it for whatever reason, but I would!

    Just my 2 cents

I use tapatalk all the time and periodically search for WF hoping it has been added. A great tool for catching up on the road.

The thread is turning into something else. Tapatalk seem like an interesting new application. Not sure, how hard it will be to implement. Also, there can be some downside to it.

I do not see enough review of this app. Warriorforum is huge forum with loads of members. Tapatalk should be tested fully before implementing it here. Anyway, let me read full feature list now.

Tapatalk still isn't enabled. There's a WF reader app and it sucks compared to Tapatalk.

I can and have typed lengthy, serious responses on my iPhone. I find it easier to use than our iPads for that purpose.

There are few things more enjoyable to read than a long, well-thought-out post written with regard for the reader rather than the writer's convenience, meaning spelling, grammar and punctuation were used properly.

I really can't believe that tapatalk isn't enabled. It doesn't affect anyone who doesn't want to use it but it's a massive convenience to those of us who do. The cost to the forum is zero afaik.

I would also love if this forum was on tapatalk! For me, it is just easier to browse and my phone is always with me. It would be nice to use when I'm at work too! Hope they decide to add it!

For those saying it is opening the door to bad posts, there are plenty on here anyways. You will continue to see posts like, "how did you make your first penny?" It will just have "....posted via mobile device" at the bottom.
