Looking for Help Desk for a Membership Site

Hi.

I am looking for a help desk for a membership site.

I need something fairly easy to customize and so that it is easy to use for most people (not overloaded with options)

Perl Desk seems ok.

what would you recommend? Why?

    I like OSTicket.

osTicket:: Open Source Support Ticket System

Why? It free, installs in seconds with Fantastico and is super easy to configure/set up/use.

Look here for an example of a very lightly customized standard install: http://membershipsiteovernight.com/support

Assuming you've got a host with Cpanel & Fantastico, it should likely already be there.

    Hope this helps,

    Brian

    Hi,

I use and recommend Saeven|CRM and TicketDesk Pro (as a backup on a different server).

Recommendations are only that, just recomendations.

Personally in the past I have tried Hesk, didn't have a problem with it, but someone I recommended it too, who had more web customers and less secure hosting got "hacked", I've never recommended it since. Although it's probably alright for most. (Being as it's free with your cpanel hosting)

These days the only script - help desk system I would truely recommend is ticketdestpro from Frank Haywood ( I have an affiliate link and offer installation and set up free of charge if you buy from it!) I think it's still on offer at a measly $69

If you want to test it out look and feel so to speak then I've installed it here at JanetSawyer.com Help Desk!

Some times, things are just worth the money!.

Here's something that is a little different than the traditional help desk:

Crafty Syntax Live Help an Open Source Live Support

I've used it in the past and found it works excellent.

I have used crafty syntax great option except that it requires a really good attendance record, to make it work out.

I believe there are a few good systems out there, most of them are powered by PHP and MySQL perl is obsolete.

I can vouch for ticketdeskpro aswell...it's a great piece of software and Frank Haywood provides excellent support. It's pretty simple to install and configure and you can also use it in conjunction with services like authsmtp.com to improve the deliverability of emails sent from ticketdeskpro.

According to Frank, they work with ISPs (like Aweber do) to make sure email sent via their servers gets through ISP network filters.

I use "Kayako" with my businesses. It is affordable, robust, easy to install and provides a very professional support front-end, including a nice Knowledge Base.

I found a very basic program which is easy to install, modify and works well:

      No Tech Desk

It's worth checking out - inexpensive.
