Anyone with experience on golf related products/landing pages?

So not only do I consider myself a web design / developer guru...but I consider myself good at golf. I created a golf blog years ago called Major Championships (Golf Blog, News, Tips, Videos, Photos and Rumors, The Masters | Major Championships). It has a lot of content on it, but I just haven't been good at updating it.

So I know the key to starting out is to find a niche you know something about, in my case golf, finding specific problems people have, creating a nice landing page offering a free ebook on how to solve that problem...collecting a bunch of email addresses...then upselling them on an "advanced" version that acts as a premium.

Does that sound reasonable?

My next question is...have any of you done golf related material before and have you found a particular path that has done well? Instead of throwing darts...figured I would ask about specifics.

Thanks,
Bryan

I was in the golf niche before and I almost turned pro for the LPGA too. I wound up getting an offer to buy all my golf pages, so I sold figuring I'd make more but I just haven't yet.

To get a golfer to pay you, you want to present them with two things:

1.) Instructions on bettering their game (or gambling games cuz we all like to shoot the shit and spar on the course don't we?) and...

    2.) Golf gadgets and gear

News might get them there, but make sure you toss in reviews of products too - because many golfers are glued to the TV on the weekend watching the tournaments, so they already know if Daley beat up a fan or if Tiger's caddy insulted another player.

My sites that were doing well were Squidoo lenses and a blog and I was promoting eBooks like beat 80 and gadgets from Amazon.

The great thing about the golf niche is that they have money! And they always want to splurge if it'll help them shoot a better game. I have a golf article on EZA if you want to use it here:

Your Golf Game Is A Direct Result Of What You Believe

And I sell some PLR on the topic for $5 here:

    Good luck with it!
