How can i ensure my hostgator referral code goes through?

A friend wants to sign up to host gator and asked if i had a referral code for him.

What can he do to his browser settings to ensure the referral code goes through???


Also do you get paid $50 per referral even if they just go with the $7 monthly setup??? i find it hard to believe, am i reading it right lol

    Make sure your friend has cookies enabled. Many referral links/codes are tracked via cookie.

    I recall reading somewhere, not sure if it was on WF, that you only get the $50 if the person signs up for a whole year. One of the more seasoned warriors can probably be more specific.

    What I would like to know is how you do the "thanks" on here? You guys might know.

      ok great thanks, ill make sure he does that, is it worth clearing cookies before hand just in case he has clicked on one previously??

        It wouldn't hurt, but it probably isn't necessary.

    It's a number game for hostgator... they know that for every x amount of people that sign up, another x amount of people will stay with them for over a year (I am with them and I can't fault them so far) and also the same customer may take up other services in the future, upgrade, etc... so they can afford to pay 50 bucks commission, that's for sure

      So are you confirming its per sign up or per yearly sign up?? cn my friend just sign up for 1 month and i still get the $50?
