Verizon FIOS + Email Client On My Domain = ClusterBuck

A long shot I know, but thought I would ask. I have FIOS as my ISP and I'm trying to set up my email account that's on my domain to my Live Mail. So basically I am adding myname@mydomainname.com to my email client. FIOS will not let me use Port 25, instead told me to use Port 587. Ok, sorted that out with my ever gracious web host. Inputted all name protocols, usernames and passwords, set the servers. We tried IMAP and POP3 also. No bueno.

Server Failed To Connect.

So if I understand correctly, your setting up your domain email account in Live Mail?
And you suspect that the smtp server config is causing the problem?
Have you tried adding the account but using a different smtp server?

Yes, I've tried it on a different SMTP server plus tried it as a POP3. Nope. Color me clueless at this point.

    Most ISP's block port 25.
Why did they tell you to use port 587?
Who hosts your email? You should be asking them how to set it up, not FIOS.
