Transferable Paypal Subscription Alternative? Amazon Simple Pay? Google Checkout?
I recently purchased a site that accepts payments via paypal for three 1 time payment products and 1 subscription product. The subscription product has a monthly or yearly price.
The site is currently using paypal for the subscriptons and since paypal accounts and paypal subscriptions are not transferable I need to contact all the customers and get them to resignup with me. Now the easy thing would be to just do paypal again but then if I ever want to sell the site there will be even more subscribers that will again have to transfer and will no doubt lose customers.
That being said I'd like to make a change now so that this only has to happen once.
Can anyone answer the following for google checkout and Amazon Simple Pay:
1. Can 1 person have multiple accounts? You can not with paypal and I find it a lot easier for accounting if the business can have it's own account so it's not muddled with other transactions.
2. Are the accounts transferable? In the case of a future sale an ideal situation would be if I could just transfer the account so that there could be a totally seamless transition.
3. I can not find anyone using Amazon Quick Pay but it looks like a nice solution.. Any experience here?
4. Anyone have issues with conversion rates after switching to Google Checkout vs Paypal?
Of course my other option is to use a real merchant account and program something but I'd like to avoid wasting my energy on that as the previous owner is looking to get the subscriptions out of his account pronto.
