Finding your target market

This is without a doubt one of the keys to internet marketing success.

How do I do about getting laser targeted leads? It's finding the audience who can resonate with you and what you're about that's challenging for me.

I'm a musician (pianist) trying to make a living through the Internet. Many people who are passionate about music learn how to make $100,000+ online and help others doing it in the process, before they are able to fully devote themselves fully to their passion in music.

If anyone has had experience in the music industry, it's tough trying to make ends meet. Getting performing careers, students to teach is tough using the offline strategies. Very much the same way as using the old traditional strategies of network marketing.
The solution to the problem is to learn how to market on the Internet.

My story is similar to Brian Fanale (co-founder of MLSP). He had a passion for music, however, he had to learn how to market on the Internet before he was able to fully devote himself to his passion in music. Just go to his site and read about it.

My story, I studied music majoring in piano and got myself a degree. Lo and behold, I go out to advertise using those useless tactics (having no clue how to market) they taught in college and struggling to make ends meet at the same time. What they didn't tell me in college was how to stand out from the crowd and how to market yourself.
I had to survive on Government funding of $900 per month while I was trying to look for employment. The employment agency use those outdated tactics. Go on the Internet to lodge your resume and submit your resume in local areas.
Finding work as a musician is tough, not being able to make a living doing something you are passionate about and relying on the government is suicide.
From 2008 to 2011 I was submitting resumes on the Internet, getting no response whatsoever, getting no students and not getting accepted into any jobs. It's like how Mike Dillard made $0 for 5 years in the MLM industry using traditional methods.
Skip ahead to 2011, I started learning internet marketing. I get involved in network marketing, I tell people what I do and what my passions are. Turns out music is one of them, they hammer me down and ask me why I don't pursue music?
If it's too hard for you to understand go read about Brian Fanale and "Toby and Layla". People appreciate them and accept them, people hate me because I'm a musician and don't want my help.

Does finding my target market have to be this hard? I never thought that this phase could be so frustrating to the point where I am forced to give up.
