It looks that way mate, I suggest downloading AVG then running a system scan, AVG will isolate all of the viruses and that should sort it out
the download for AVG is here Free Antivirus Download | AVG Free
If that doesnt clear things up, just let me know =)

Ok, if you're running windows 1st look into your hosts file - do a search on your sytem drive. Delete that file if you haven't used it.

Otherwise, you may have a virus.

As others have said, it does look like you have been affected by some malware. I had a similar problem but in Firefox a few weeks ago. Tried everything to get rid of it. Very frustrating - it redirected me about 1 in 5 searches. Ran full system scans in AVG, root toolkits, Malwarebytes, rkill - none of them helped. Then through one of my searches I saw someone else that had the same problem - it turned out to be a Firefox addon called XULRunner 1.9.1. All I had to do was disable the addon and "hey presto" problem solved.

Hope you get it sorted with Chrome.

As stated above, the best thing you can do is google for the answer, as there is almost always somebody else out there with the same problem and quite often a simple solution.

Maybe, as a last resort, you could just uninstall your browsers... delete all their program files and then reinstall it

I had the redirection problem and after not being able to fix it, I set my computer to an earlier time point. Worked very well.

There is something strange spreading around and I can't find any info on it.

Every few searches I get redirected to 2 random advertising sites... I've tried using AVG, Spybot search and destror, and ad-aware and neither of them can find it.

Your one is strange though, maybe it just a bug?

Upgrade to Windows 7. XP isn't that secure anymore.

The best way to correct it is by using system restore to an earlier "non-infected" time point as it probably had some changes to your registry.

Some people report using HiJackThis and apparently it works. Maybe you should google that and see how to use it

I had this problem and I used a program called ComboFix, it's kind of a complicated process, but it cleaned up my system 100%.

Search around for 'google redirect bug' and/or combofix. This worked for me on firefox 5.0 and win7pro64.

I just recently had this issue happen to me.

Go into Firefox and disable all your plugins and addons. Then restart and the nasty virus should be gone. Only enable plugins you need.

Agreed with the above, try to do a System Restore first to see if that fixes your problem. If it doesn't...

Download HijackThis and scan your computer:

    HijackThis - Trend Micro USA

Then use this website to analyze the log file report that it generates after scanning is complete:

    HiJackThis! Log auto analyzer V2

Be VERY careful when fixing and deleting things with HijackThis.

I'm also using Kaspersky. They are one notch above McAfee and Norton. Has your browser been hijacked?
