WarriorForum "Currently Active Users", Real Time?

Is this stat listed at the bottom of the forum in real time?
I often check it, as I like to plot the traffic.

I noticed something this morning...it was showing 8500 members,
and then just a few minutes later, down to 7500..a quick loss of 1,000,
which makes me think this stat must be delayed at least a bit.

    Well I am sure it is not realtime to the second put accurate when you refresh the page.. I think it is possible to leave 1000 people in 10-20 seconds for sure.

    I thought the intervals would be longer, like 15 minutes or even 30, guess I could easily be wrong. I've always been shocked by how much traffic there was on here.

      I have no idea how that works. I think it's more accurate to look at the home page, where it lists the number of people currently viewing each section of the forum.

        No,
        Unless you specifically log out, after about 8 hours you no longer register. The expiry time is typical for a Invision forum. The online market I do believe is real time though.

      That's what I'm thinking...it would explain the huge change in users.
