Something Strange With My New Domain!

Hi people,

hopefully somebody here can shed a little light on my new domain problem.

I have just registered a new domain at GoDaddy and pointed it to my Hostgator account. I have then added a wordpress blog to it via fantastico and went to log in and it gives me a hostgator 404 page error.

I then type in my domain and it brings up a holding page (related searches) thingy.

Now I pointed it tom hosting well over a couple of hours ago and have since redone it. Does this mean it hasn't yet changed to my hosting???

It says it only takes a few minutes to take effect and it is usually a few minutes but this seems strange???

Anyone know what could of happened and how to fix???

What kind of "holding" page do you get? Is it a Go-Daddy parking page?

Well you may need to wait a little longer for it to take effect. In my experience it generally takes between 15 minutes and half an hour.

well - it shows someone in the UK owns it on internic's whois (hopefully you) - and the name servers are showing:
    NS1049.HOSTGATOR.COM
    NS1050.HOSTGATOR.COM
But I'm seeing that odd page too. (and it's not a godaddy)

Give it a bit more time, then see if hostgator can help.

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours as one by one each datacenter updates. It depends where you are, as many people may already be seeing the blog as intended while you're still being directed to the holding page.

    Just wait a bit.
