Is my sales tactic good enough?

I hate sales pages that are almost screaming how amaaaazing there product is or how abvious someone is trying to sell you a product on a blog.

I'm planning to create a blog en when I write about an product I just say something like"if you want to have one yourself, I've put a link right HERE".

Is that enought to actually sell something?

    Sometimes. There are many effective tactics.

    I tend to believe that the internet is continually trending towards greater understanding and transparency. (Niche dependent of course), people 'may' know that when they click on an affiliate link, you will receive a commission. There was a time where it was much much easier to make money. Things online have shifted to much greater trust and transparent, as I believe it should be.

    I personally like to say things like "you can purchase through my affiliate link HERE...or, if you don't want to purchase through my link, you can purchase HERE...". If people feel like they have gained alot of value, they 'may' purchase through my link. Of course, there's always a chance that they may not...that's fine...ball is in their court.

    No pressure. No trickery. The choice is up to them.

      Yes that will feel more correct for me to.

      But honestly I start my site for making money. So if It very unlikly I'm going to make profit. Im not going to do this. I also thought about saying at the end of a article. I have ... for sale click HERE.

      Or I should post just articles with information without talking in the form of I.

    There is a reason people use sales pages like they do, it's because they work.

    When I make a sales page it doesn't matter if I like it (per say), all that matters is that the market likes it.

      But don't you feel bad about yourself when you're doing that? I mean, youre actually trying to convince people to buy something. And faking youre honest.

        Isn't that the point of marketing and advertising?

        If you ask me there are two types of marketing and advertising:

        Marketing that works and marketing that doesn't.

        So if you're asking me if I feel bad making money off something someone was seeking out and they decided my sales page was the most convincing, then the answer is no absolutely not.

        I'm not doing anything illegal.

        I think you are confusing some things here. I personally think there is a huge difference between a salesman and a marketer.

        The salesman tries to sell you something you may or may not think you need or want. He might even get pushy and use plenty of tactics, mainly scarcity, to get you to buy what he/she is selling.

        A marketer utilizes several tools and techniques to find a market that is already eager to buy something and then promotes that "something" to the market.

        I consider myself a marketer.

        I don't really try to convince anyone to buy my products or join my lists. I've done my research, which indicates the people I am talking to are already interested in said product/service!

        At this point all I am doing is simply guiding the potential customer along the shortest route possible to a checkout page.

          But if you make a site and then create your content around the product you want people to buy, then youre a salesmen right?

          I think a lot of people here create a website to market there products on, but also make the content on the site in such a way that it helps the product to sell.

            I think, again your over complicating things. If you do your research correctly, especially in the creation of your website, your selling shouldn't need to heavy.

            In fact I would argue that on every one of my sites, my selling is actually kind of passive. Why? Because I rely on well-targeted traffic to make sales. The people hitting my sites are already interested in what I am promoting, which means I rarely if ever use traditional "sales tactics" like "scarcity."

            In the case of my biggest money site, I'm actually not selling anything, just promoting products through coupon codes via affiliate links. You (the site visitor) is coming to me because they are already looking for a deal. I'm simply putting what they are looking for in front of them, which equals easy sales.

            Marketing isn't about sales. Marketing is about building relationships which lead to sales and brand awareness.

    I'm going to have to get a little deep on this one. Why have you got such a problem with selling stuff? Do you want to make money or not?

    I think you should remember that as long as you are providing lots of value and over delivering then you shouldn't be ashamed of selling.

    You should try to get rid of the unconscious negative feelings you have about selling otherwise you will sabotage your own success.

    Society and media have programmed us to think that money is evil and selling is bad.

    It's not. All selling is is providing a solution to people's problems.

    If you can position yourself in-front of people when people are searching on Google then you will break down so many barriers.

    Remember...people love to buy stuff.

    Sales is the highest profession and most noblest profession out there. Be proud of it.

    You are either selling or buying - what would you rather be doing?

    Have a big enough reason to be selling and making money and then you wont be so concerned with all the details.

    I highly recommend you do some research on Emotional Freedom Technique or Thought Field Therapy, which can help get rid of any unconscious negative feelings about selling.

    People use sales pages because they work, but you should test everything.

    It depends on how mature your niche is. If the people looking to buy the product are well educated on it and know what they're looking for, then you'll probably get away with soft selling techniques. This works pretty well for retail.

    When you're trying to sell people something they're not necessarily looking for, you need to be more pushy about it. Well, that's usually the easier way to go. There are more subtle persuasive methods that IMO might be more effective, but it's easier to just TYPE LIKE THIS and use lots of BOLD and special offers to get people to click your link or buy what you're selling.

    It works, but I think it's a little tacky. I'd never buy something from a website like that and I know a lot of other people that wouldn't either. These methods are going to become increasingly less effective as the web matures.

    One other thing you might notice is that these selling methods are more popular in small operations because they try to build commitment and trust in the reader. Large sites and companies don't make use of those sales tactics as often. With that said, you can focus on branding and consumer relations to negate the need for such hard selling techniques.

      I worked in real estate for 15 years in a very competitive market. We were given some of the best sales and marketing training our industry could offer.

      One piece of advice I was given that I'll never forget:

      "It's easier to lead a thirsty horse to water and make him drink - find thirsty horses!"

      I know it's easier said than done, especially nowadays, but nonetheless, still a good principle to follow.

        Replace the word "keyword" with your actual keyword and bring some big buckets for them to drink out of...

      I agree. But for branding, I need a real product that I really own myself. with affiliate marketing I promote other people's products.

      What my problem is, is that when people want a car, then they can see what's on the market true advertising. But some people on this forum suggest to almost infiltrate in people's minds and try to create a certain "vibe"around a offer, so people trap into that, actually buying the vibe to much without looking really to the offer.

      You can sell a car by telling people what engine it has, how much gas it uses.
      But u can also sell a car by trying to convince people that they will have a amazing life with this particular car, and that the whole neighborhood wil respect them more with this luxurious car. And that this car will give them so much more opportunities in there lifes.

      The first example seems right to me, but the second seems wrong. Do some people here still think that u should use the second example? because it can work?

        The real problem you seem to be having is questioning the ethics of how some people are selling their product. If what you said with your example of selling a car which I quoted is something that people should not be doing, 99% of commercials you see on TV should be also banned. If you watch any commercial now-a-days, you'll find that they hint at many things either blatantly or subconsciously.

        Whether this is right or wrong, unfortunately is not something we can do anything about and will only always end up in a heated conversation.

        The only suggestion I have for you is to do what you are comfortable with and act according to your own ethical standards. At the same time, you should trust the buyers more in that they'll be able to distinguish what may be too good to be true since we're not dealing with material that requires professional education (like medicine etc.)
