Warriors, How FAR Will You Go? What Will You Be Happy With?

Hey Warriors,

Was just thinking IM has changed my life and probably 98% of people here too. Once you get that first sale and you know it is possible you are hooked or at least I was...

My question is:

"What Are You Doing This For?"

Do you have set goals?

Just want enough to be comfortable?

Want to be rich?

What are you REALLY doing this for?

Let me put it like this - If I could wave a magic wand and give you $2000 a week would you bother with IM really?

Do you have set goals and how BIG are your dreams?

Most people I see online that are failing or at least not making money online want to just make enough to live off i.e a modest wage.

The most successful people I know online would die if they thought they were only making $500 a week.

So do you have a plan, a dream or are you just hoping?

Let me know - will be interesting to see...

Chris

  • I've been doing it for a little over a year now (See join date) and just like you, that first sale hooked me for good, and I'm glad it did!

Although my long term goal is £2,000 per month, I really can't see myself stopping there. When I reach that goal, I will just scale up and diversify the methods that are making me the most money. Once I've maximised the potential of those methods, I will start new ones.

I think the biggest reason for me, is freedom. Not just financial freedom, but having much more freedom in the day, compared to your standard 9-5! The thought of being able to do all the things I want to do in the day, is one of the biggest motivators for me.

    Its gonna be fun!

Freedom for me too. I've always enjoyed my day job with a large retail chain and didn't think that I would want to leave, but one merger too many has made it downright miserable working for them.

I went from full to part time last week and my goal is now to become financially independent and enjoy my working life again but at home. Not bothered about being very rich. If I earn enough to be able to travel when I want to and help my family out that's good.

I want to turn this into a healthy full time income and something that I can do for years to come. There are less and less good corporate jobs these days so the best thing is to find something you can control and make the most of it. We all have a tremendous opportunity if we take the time to study and learn what needs to be done.

And remember that no matter what the gurus tell you, it does require work and time. This is a business and you need to treat it that way. But if you make the investment it will provide you with great returns. That's what I'm counting on and working towards.

I've been playing around with IM now for 2 years, learned a lot and now I'm just about to start my online business.

My goal, to be able to retire when I wanted too and not when due to the Bankers etc now say I can.

So earning extra from anywhere I want to be.

Honesty and fairness, I will keep to those two whatever I do.

That's a good question! Because business draws people inside very deeply... like a swamp... People look for freedom, and build themselves golden cages.

I've been there and done that too.

So now I'm just looking for building stable profit centers. By that I mean businesses that bring in money every month.

So I don't have to work if I want to, although I may if I want to.

That's my goal, to increase the stable (near passive) income steadily. When will I stop? Who knows...

There is this concept of foggy vision. You may plan what will happen in 30 years, but it's best to understand, that some goals have to be blurred now, and will crystalize in time.

I have only been into IM for the last 6 months and I havent made much yet but my short term goal is to make enough to live on (which for me is only a grand or so a month) I have quite a few sites set up and am in the middle of making more and they are slowly starting to get traffic and sales. I hope by xmas to be doing a lot better

We are doing this to fulfill a need in our niche, and to hopefully have it become a good earner so hubby can retire early.

If you gave me 2 grand a week I'd call it quits with IM. That's $104 grand a year, more than enough for us to live well.

My long term goal is probably a $200,000 house (which is a BIG house where I live), an acre of land, an above ground pool, and a deck big enough to have cookouts on.

But I have started focusing on smaller goals for now. Each goal brings me closer to my BIG GOAL, but it keeps me motivated because I see things falling into place.

For instance my first goal was to get enough money to get my car air conditioner fixed. I hit that amount easily and now have a cool car again.

Now my house air conditioner needs fixed, I already have enough money for that (thanks to my writing).

My short list of goals at the moment

New floor in kitchen and dining room.
    Pay off Prosper loan
    Pay off car

All of these will be paid purely out of my side job of IM/writing. Each one brings me a little closer to BIG GOAL.

So in short, I probably have a more modest view of how I want my future to be compared to some IM'ers. But being older now, I know that huge houses and expensive cars don't really do anything except make you LOOK rich. I'd rather have a couple of extra really good vacations per year than a Porsche.

    Hi Chris,
Interesting thread. I have a long term goal of 5k per month and once I reach that goal I will increase it.
I started internet marketing because I wanted to bring in an extra part time income and it has now become my full time job.
I enjoy the freedom and felxability of it but I have to be disciplined and work hard for my success.

I find making smaller goals and larger goals works well for me. I write a short term goal and a long term goal and put them in my bathroom where I see them every day.
I put my focus into achieveing them.

I also have a baby on the way which makes me keep my focus even more. I want the baby to have a great childhood and I don´t want to be struggling for money or unable to afford to let my child do the things they want to do.

No. If I could collect my current IM income without working, I'd take the money and enjoy life. My goal has been to earn "enough" not to be rich.

My goal in the next six months is to maintain my current income while increasing automaqtion and lessening the hours I work.

My goal is $8,333 a month- or $100K profit per year.

My family can definitely live very comfortably on that, and I'd be doing something I like.

Would we be rich? Not exactly, but if you're doing something you love and making that kinda money, things are good :-)

Freedom to live the live I want to live - which means lots of travel. IM allows me to travel and make money at the same time. By 2013 my IM earnings will fund the purchase of my new boat which I'll use to continue my travel goals.

      Hi,

My direction is simple => More Money, More Time, More Satisfaction in Life

All this time I've been traveling around for work, biz or holiday.

Really want to go places where I can set up micro-projects for poor communities of a few countries. I've seen them personally. Am pretty much devastated. Without some support, they are not going anywhere.

My hope is the income stream from IM can flow to those micro-economic projects. When this happens, I'd be a happy person with a more meaningful life.

Im doing this to prove to myself that the internet DOES have potential.

I'd be content with $100 made purely from my website and no other place.

Made $96 with other sites such as Fiverr.

I'm doing this because I believe it will help me reach my full potential.

I have set goals. I want to build my own business, and eventually turn it over to a deserving individual (so I can go pursue my long term dream-President of Walt Disney World).

I'm not looking to be a millionaire. If it happens, great. If not, life goes on 'til I die anyways. Ideally I would would build enough to have the house I want, finish college, and have a nice amount of savings started. The rest of my income will go to building a great business, and making sure that the CUSTOMER comes first.

I think any businessperson, whether online or offline, will always be wanting a bigger income no matter how much they are currently earning.

I am in my final year of Uni at the moment, and I have said that if IM makes more money a month than my girlfriend makes in her part time job, then I will be happy.

However, a year from now I will be in need of a higher income, in order for IM to provide a living. For the first 5 years after university I will be satisfied if IM can provide enough of an income for me not to hold down a job.

Everyone on this forum would love to earn $30,000 a month, however I think the majority would be happy to just earn a decent living, and there are plenty that do.

Having just turned 20, I am still very young and I have complete faith that if I apply myself over the years, then I should be able to make a living from IM.

But in answer to your question, at the moment I would just be happy to make a small monthly income from IM

Hey Chris, great questions. I have large goals with my Internet quest. To be specific, my offline results in my last home business were 8 figures in 6 years from zero. My goal is to add a zero to that. As of yet, I have not made any money online. (i did take 5 years off and travel and enjoy my family-back to work again now)

What I know to be true, there are 7 areas of life, and money of course is one of them. (finances) Mathmatically, for most of us, money is not going to be a high value from an attrition standpoint. Religion and other outside forces as well have repressed financial gains in many. Self-worth is a huge key to how much someone will allow themselves to be paid. The secret? Money is at the bottom of my "hierarchy of values", and made over 7 figures in 3 different home biz ventures, one of them 8.

If i am single, the cars i drive, house i live in, and clothes i wear, are not important at all to me. The house, cars, clothes, livestyle my wife and kids are extremely important to me, as family is my highest value. After learning to "anchor" making money to what is important to me, allowed me to work for 17 years in home biz to become an overnight success. By finding where people spend their time and money easily, you will locate their highest values and what is important to them. Prosperous regards, Dr. Mike

      Chris,

Like nearly everyone on this forum, my motive is freedom. IM provides the potential for an income way beyond the limits imposed by government, regulations, bureaucracy etc that so constrain our lives. The Internet breaks down the barriers to success: anyone half-smart with a motivation to succeed can find a way to reach their dreams. It isn't easy but then nothing worthwhile ever is. But it's possible if you really go for it.

      Good luck to all,

      Sarah
