hello I am new here...

Hello All,

I am new to the forum. My name is Robin. I have been surfing around here though and reading a lot of your threads. I just sent my first ebook to clickbank for approval and am now waiting on that. So I am killing time while I wait trying to figure out what the next best step is.

I have never done this before but I have been writing this book for the past 3 years I guess that may be along time in the making of an ebook. I tried affiliate marketing sometime ago but honestly never had much luck at it. I had a idea for a book though and decided to start it. At the time I didn't know it would take me so long to finish. So after all this time here I am. LOL

I have built many websites for companies and have great skills with that and graphics but that is the extent of my technical skills.

I wrote my own sales page, I am not expecting much since I know I will need a lot of tweeking to get it right but I do believe in my product so I think that is important.

Just wanted to introduce myself and I hope that I can be half as sucessful as some of you in the future.

If there is anyone out there that started where I am today and has come a long ways I am all ears for advice. Otherwise I will just be surfing around and learning what I can until I feel I have something to offer to others. Looking foward to a bright future.

I am new here too! Thank you for introducing... I have been searching for a place to put my "hi I am new" post but couldn't find one. Welcome to the forum.

I made my start as a writer. I have some websites but they aren't making much. I think it is a problem of commitment and the fact that I don't entirely know what I am doing. So, I am here to learn!

    Good luck in your endeavors!

    Hey Robin!

That's great that you created your own e-book!

Although you now have your own product, you will still have to go through the regular marketing funnel if you want to sell it properly.

It's a simple process as follows:

    1. Traffic. You want to master the concept of generating traffic to your site, capture pages, squeeze pages, etc. This is the first step to getting your book to sell.

    2. Leads. You want to figure out the best way to convert that traffic into leads. (I found that if you post a personal video next to an optin form, you will get a higher conversion rate!)

    3. Convert Leads. Then, convert those leads to sales! (It's really not that hard if you know these steps inside and out..)

    4. Follow up on those sales/leads with email broadcasts. This will keep your customers coming back for more!

The best way to promote your book would be to drive traffic to those squeeze pages. That's what I would do.

Or offer a free training on whatever you book is about, then recommend the book!

  • Welcome to WF. I too am new here. Your post made me think of my wife. She is trying to write a cookbook of family recipes with tips and tricks she learned from her mother. She has rewrote the crazy thing about 5 times now and doesn't like any of them. When in reality, she has 5 different cookbooks she could do the final editing on and start publishing them. ;-) She is fixated on her one perfect ideal and vision... Well like I said, Welcome to WF!

Sometimes, it's best to just let it go! I found a site once where you can upload the recipes and stuff and self publish a cookbook. Does she know about it? I think it's called blurb.com.

      Thanks for the welcome guys!

Welcome to the forum guys. You certainly are in the right place to learn lots about marketing online - and offline too!

Be sure to use the forum intelligently... and don't be afraid to ask questions.

You also may find that some of the questions you have, have already been answered. That's the great thing about this forum -- you get to tap into the mass knowledge of everyone.

If you're new to copywriting - then check out the copy writing forum. It'll be a great help in learning more about it. You can even request a review of your copy and get feedback from those who've been "in the trenches" for some time.

    Again, welcome.

    Best,
    - Jay

Hey welcome to the forum. I also started my journey in the internet marketing world a few months ago and have learned so much. One of the hardest things for me when I started was gathering all the information and digesting it.

Here are some tips on a few things I did to start Internet Marketing.
    1) Create an Excel or Word doc and simply keep track of your progress, useful websites, useful tools, passwords/accounts for registered sites, etc
    2) READ!! a ton of articles on SEO and threads in this forum.
    3) Don't ever pay for the "magic button" software because it's usually a scam
    4) Generate traffic to your website by implementing the SEO techniques you have learned
    5) Start your backlinking process by article writing, press realeses, blog commenting, forum commenting, paying for services such as buildmyrank.com (if its in your budget).
    6) Don't forget to add Google Analytics or some kind of website tracking tool to your website
    7) Also build and keep track of all the emails/registered users that opted in for downloading your e-book

Hopefully you found this info useful and goodluck

I like the fact that you spent 3 years on your eBook, nothing wrong with that at all.

It simply gives your sales page more credibility, in fact I'd include this little fact in your sales copy. It lends itself well to building up your own reputation, credibility and trust from potential prospects looking at buying your guide.

I've got a natural gut feeling about you. Those 3 years of research, countless hours spent writing this out? It's all going to be well worth it and the reward is you're going to be paid handsomely for your effort at the end.

Here's wishing you every success possible. You deserve it. You know you do.

And it's lovely to see you posting on the forum. If ever you need any assistance or advice... hit me up with a private message and I'll bend over backwards to render every assistance possible to you.

Kindest regards and all best wishes,

      Pete Walker

If you want it to be a great success your going to need affiliates in your niche. You need to get the word out yourself. Clickbank is a great platform, but if you don't get the word out than your product may very well sit there and get no affiliates.

I suggest joining forums and putting your sales page in your signature. Build relationships and, eventually, try to hype up your ebook without spamming. If you're already known on the forum then people will trust you, and therefore buy from you.

Not sure what your niche is, so it's hard to tell how many affiliates you'll be able to find. Maybe someone in your niche has a list that they can promote it to?

    Best of luck,
    Blake
