Could someone give me a link or tell me what is cookie stuffing and how it can make money?

I'm still confused after reading it on some anonymous sites lol

lol... if you don't know what it is, I would highly suggest you stay away from it, unless you want to get banned from your affiliate networks real quick.

    Try This: http://www.warriorforum.com/search.php?searchid=578763

You can usually find what you are looking for by going to the top of the screen and doing a search.

You also need to read the rules that apply to your signature listings.

It's a way of hijacking affiliate sales, by forcing (stuffing) a cookie (or multiple cookies all at once) on a person's computer, without them having to actually click on your affiliate link (which is where the cookie is set normally).

There are many many ways to do it (not too many safe ways tho), just search Google.

Be warned though, it's not exactly white hat, and can get you banned or even in more trouble than just being banned if you don't know precisely what you are doing.

  • @Jared Alberghini is spot on

also, many affiliate networks have "quality bots" that visit sites they get hits from and check for this sort of nonsense

One way to protect your affiliate links from being hijacked is to make sure to use a good link cloaker on all your aff links. (I have a free one you can use here: Free & Simple Affiliate Link Cloaker )

You see, there are many ways to stuff cookies other than simply visiting a website that stuffs you...

There are some nasty spyware/adware, and even some toolbars that scan every website/page that the infected person/computer browses, and any un-protected affiliate links the spyware finds, it will replace your affiliate id with theirs, and then stuff you with their cookie.

As you mentioned... interesting stuff indeed.
