Video seems to be all the rage today, while personally I'm not that fond of it I've been told that I am in the minority (for the record that last time I watched television was in 2009, so I'm definitely not an average viewer).

As for the talking it would really depend upon your skills in that arena - without seeing a sample of your work we really can't comment!

A professionally done video presentation outsells a sales letter in most cases. Whether you should do it or an actor depends on your talent or lack thereof.

Professional videos are the way to go these days, they seem to convert a lot better. Personally I hate squeeze pages. But hey, they work, so I am not going to deny them!

A common misconception is that you need to pay lots of money for a professional video.

But if you have enough confidence and good communication skills, it is often better to sell your product yourself through your own video.

Be honest, show you actually using and benefitting from the product, and show people how easy it is.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    Dave

Are you actually asking about "squeeze pages" here, or do you in fact mean "sales pages"? You realise they're two completely different things?

I agree w/ Alexa - are you working on a product as a Vendor or an Affiliate? And are you using the page to capture emails?

all my research shows that text squeeze pages sell aot better than video squeeze page. i personally like video, eaasier to understand and i do not have to read.
    if video:
keep it short, no more than 8 minutes
    best of luck

While I truly believe in video marketing, I HATE lead capture pages that ONLY explain what is offered in the video with no text.

I am busy, so I look at the text first before committing the time to watch a video.

So, if you do use a video please make sure you also explain in test.

    Thanks

I agree with ebusinesstutor if there's NO text explaining what's going on and ESPECIALLY if it doesn't tell me how long the video is, I "x-out" which generally takes me to the order page. If it's something I might be interested in then I might go back to the squeeze page and give a listen.

If it's a couple of minutes I'll listen but if it's much longer than that I won't. I've seen some that ran in excess of 15-20 minutes or longer.

People have the attention span of gnats so if it's too long before you hook them you'll lose them. And then they'll be pissed that you wasted their time for something they're not interested in.
