Forum Loophole Exploited?

I notice that some new members have realized that posts in the "test" section add to their post count.

So they start a test thread - post two word comments to it again and again or they reply to test posts of others. What's the point? Run a WSO? Good luck with that one!

It's a good method to use if you want the label of "forum spammer".

Good grief. That is ridiculous. Why not use the forum the way it's designed and actually learn from reading and asking questions? Upping your post count on the test forum is just plain silly, IMO.

I reported the problem so I expect it will be taken care of. I think it's good to be aware this can happen - makes it even more important to check post history of someone new running classified or WSOs.

It isn't something that can be hidden - as the posts in that section are visible to all.

Right on Kay & Eric... I'm sure Admin can set the Test Forum to not count posts, just like the OT forum, which would be a VERY good idea, before everyone knows about this exploit.

B4 purchasing a WSO it would probably be a good idea
to check a person's previous posts and if they've posted
garbage that should be an indicator of their intentions.

    Hi

I have a question I don't have many post or thank you's and I do try to help every time I'm on, and I believe I have. I have alsobought from here too. I currently have a great product that I sell on ad words and am thinking of giving a wso do you think it is to early. This product I think would really help people out.

      Hi Doug,

Please take this as constructive criticism. Over the past few days you've jumped into a bunch of threads in order to offer your product in return for testimonials. Earlier you were posting in various threads and simply pointed to your sig file as the answer to people's questions. To label these "helpful" posts might be stretching the term a bit.

Now, your product looks pretty good, as do the sites in your sig. And heaven knows you've been on the forum a lifetime compared to many of the folks who come here and pump out a bunch of one-liners just to run a WSO. But does that mean it's not too early to start a WSO? Only you can answer that honestly.

Unfortunately, there will always be spammers. And spammers will always be scumbags.

They will always be trying to find a way to undermine an underhand everyone at the forum.

They are only interested in making money from you and that is it.

    It is unfortunate but true.

    Regards,

And now, anybody that is new, will try to spam the test area!

This thread is almost as bad as some TV shows. You know, were a crack investigative reporter goes into great detail about how 'really' intelligent type pulls off the perfect crime. That is until the little itty bitty detail that slips.

Guess the admin/moderator will have to fix the test forum to not count posts now. Not such a bad idea anyway. Make the cheaters/spammers work a little harder.

    Hey Kay,

Yeah, I saw them playing around in there and reported every one of them.

Lol they are total du*b*sses in my book. They'll figure it out when they finally get their accounts deleted.

Guilty as charged! I did reply to a test post of someone else, but only because they asked a question and I knew the answer.... surely that's not a crime? Answering someones question is just as valid there as any other of the forums is it not?

I used the test forum to test unicode text. I since tried to remove that post but failed.

Shouldn't the test forum have the ability for members to delete their posts after they are done testing?

Or, can they automatically expire after a time period of say 24 hours?

Or, failing that, could they not count towards people posts count.

I've purchased several WSOs along the way and if I don't already recognize the name I'll go see the other kinds of posts that they are making.
But I'm guessing not everyone does this.

I'd like to know what these thresholds are too. I haven't even put up a sig or a pic yet. I should get on that :-P
