how can a site be on the first page of google

if there is no site ?
its an affiliate site and when you click on the google listing it directs you straight to the merchant it advertisers.

      search for sky ireland
      comes up at number 9 on listing (Sky Ireland - Affiliate Window) but when you click on the link there is no site so no content ? just a redirect to merchant

      yes it is an affiliate link ,but why would it rank so high in google without content, or is there content we just do not see it because of the redirect ?

    site is already rank with the content and backlink what it may happen owner of the site it just straight redirect affiliate link from he's domain so when you visit the page it redirect you straight to affilaite offer..if I understand your question correctly try to be more specific with your question..

    He is asking why and how a redirect link is ranked so high in google. And that's a good question...
    I also saw affiliate redirects links in google ads positioned on top of the list... And i bet that is good money there as well

    The question is extremely clear..

    There is a site (affiliate) which is currently ranked at number 9 in Google. When you click that site, it automatically redirects you to a different site (Vendor sales page). What he is asking is;

    How can this redirecting site be ranked so high?

    It can be possible to redirect a site straight to an affiliate site but as he mentioned that it ranked so high it seems little bit confused.

      Sometimes it can be because someone has taken over an "aged domain" a few year old that used to have a site on it that built up a lot of backlinks with many pages indexed.

      You can take that domain and put something completely unrelated on it and it will still benefit from previous google juice given to it.

      I wonder if that could be the case here?

    You can take that domain and put something completely unrelated on it and it will still benefit from previous google juice given to it.
