Cpanel or Plesk ??

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi Warriors,

I am looking at Host Gator's VPS service which offers a choice of Cpanel or Plesk when you first sign up for an account. I know very little about Plesk apart from it manages shopping carts and web page design.

Is anyone familiar with Plesk? What would be the best choice between the two?

Bit like... which is better? air or oxygen. CP is better if your new.

I've had hosting with Cpanel and without but never with Plesk. What does Plesk do that Cpanel doesn't or vice verse?

Plesk can be a bit complicated when it comes to creating databases and installing CMS like Wordpress and Joomla. That's why I prefer cpanel as it is way more user (newbie) friendly.

cPanel is very user friendly, I think half of the websites in the world comes with cPanel.

I had both with Hostgator VPS. If you are new, get cpanel. It's much much easier. Plesk is if you are more experienced with hosting servers etc.

Plesk is confusing and a waste of time

Stick with cpanel.

I have been running sites for over 5 years, have only used plesk one time - and it was terrible compared to cpanel.

In my opinion I would say CPanel is better since it is easier to use but one problem that annoys me about CPanel is the file manager, its unorganized and it takes longer than expected to finish your job.

CPanel due to user experience and its popularity. But they are highly comparable.
