Accounting Software for IM'ers

I'm just getting started in Internet Marketing. I'm looking for some basic accounting software (either desktop or hosted) that I can keep track of payments I get from various affiliate networks as well as what I spend on hosting, domains, outsourcing etc.

Any suggestions? Looking for free or low cost solutions, I don't need anything super fancy yet.

Thanks

Well, Quickbooks and I guess some other like software systems provide online and free programs for accounting. However, if you have time, doing all those things manually through spreadsheets like MS Excel will really make you see the business and keep track of things. Using accounting software is indeed convenient and effective but it is rather useless when you're not an accountant and you a start-up entrepreneur (because 1. you don't know what your are doing and how to make the necessary derivations from such information to be produced by such automated software, and 2. you won't learn the little yet very significant things about your business especially if you're still at the starting phase).

We need to experience doing our business' doings before we let someone or something do it for us, this is so that we can better learn and develop.

we use waveaccounting.com That automatically grabs everything from our bank account and then it basically gets broken up into revenue, outsourced work, office expenses. It works for tax purposes but its too simple for cost accounting so we also record all project expenses on spreadsheets.

We have been looking for some kind of accounting system that can easily set up many projects but also attach files and links, so we can record the outsourced work. i.e. 10 articles $50 for client #0111 and then attach the articles.

The aim of marketing is to make selling superfluous. The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well that the product or service fits him and sells itself.....

I use quickbooks. If you need a very simple tool you can use excel spreadsheet. It is absolutely less costly yet very effective.

for me, in the beginning I use quickbooks. that is when i am working as a one man show. but when i started to hire people, I need a solution to fit my situation. I check most of the solution mention above, and kashflow fit my business operation. so, at the mean time, i am using kashflow. and since kashflow is a monthly commitment, i am developing my in house tools as i need more features to be use as a backend for my business operation.

I have found that Quickbooks seems to do everything a small business would ever need with regards to accounting.
