yes! It's very important to open our mind and say "YES" first before throwing away some of the hidden gems that is hidden in our daily life.

I first heard about this kinda stuff 4 years ago.... and didn't follow through.

Pity, because back in 2007 Adwords was a completely different animal.

Boody hell Man !!! You could have written 10 articles for other people at $5 a pop and you have made more than $11.98 !!!

I'm right there with you. I've been at this business for 7 years now. I know money can be made but never put forth the effort to get it done. Now that I'm self employed, I plan on busting my tail to make my first $11.78 plus like you.

I had a similar situation. I had four stocks that I was going to put $$ into, and decided not to. I looked back and realized that they had all on an average gained a 1,100% return . My simple 30k would have been $330,000!

It sucks, but there is a saying we have here in Texas.. "The last deal ain't been had".

I used to feel the same way, but it wasn't 10 years ago. Imagine what you could have done back then, though. It used to be so easy to game Google.

Congrats! I had a similar crossing of paths with IM well before I ever got into it "officially" I eve dabled in it briefly but brushed it off as being unrealistic at the time. Now I'm kicking myself because the competition is much more fierce and the "quick buck" doesn't exist like it used to.

None the less I've made IM my full time career, and I couldn't be happier.

Ok, so I just checked google by typing in my two keyword phrase and I am listed #7 on the first page! Under it shows my website has only been up for "3 Days"...

Here is what I did today to try and get higher on Google, please let me know your thoughts:

1. I just finished a 400 word Ezine article with my keywords and (2) links in signature
2. Joined a forum related to my topic and added my website to my forum signature then posted.
3. Created (2) more pages on the website

Now I know why everyone guards their keywords so closely

Yes this forum is one of the best of its kind. Very helpful members and plenty of useful information. I try to check on new postings almost every day and I certainly learn something new all the time. It has helped my business to grow and it will do the same for you. Good for you and keep it up!

congrats on the success op...but make sure you scale things up in the right way otherwise it wouldn't be much of a surprise when you see that's the "total" you could earn...

Wow, if you have started that for the last 10 years, I don't know how much have you been earning at this time. Anyways, all is a learning experience for us, and what happen, is a lesson for us not to take "new things" as impossible and we had to "open" our minds to new possibilities.
We have to veer away from traditional concepts of how to earn like having daytime job that requires us to follow what our boss's wants us to do and even at times, extends our time of services with the same amount of pay.
I had the same thinking back then since I started working and have this "traditional" concept that when people will be accepted and starts working, this could mean that people will be earning and will become rich. But after 6 years have passed, I noticed that it is not an assurance that if a person lands a job, doesn't mean it will answer the financial needs. As a matter of fact, one has to do some backbreaking, neck straining work just to earn some money.
I am very glad that when a friend of mine introduces me to IM world, I was hesitant at first since I don't have any idea that I could earn some money through online. At present, I still have my daytime job but spend more than in the IM world. Thanks to this forum and to all who helped me in my IM earnings thanks.

Fernando, I agree...there is a lot of information/methods here and it sounds inciting to try all sorts of ways but I will stick to what works so far as a start.

So today I started another site in a related keyword and have linked the sites together with back links to each one. I made a few changes on the way the ads look on the second to see if I get better results as a test.

So far it takes me about 3 hours to: Research keyword, buy a domain, setup a word press, build the site and content, add the advert code,digg, and write a 400+ ezine article before I submit the site to google.

My wife is wondering why I have the laptop at teh dinner table, on the couch...and in bed

If you can find a mentor/teacher who is not just doing it for the $$$....they're there - believe me - this would be the first step to your future success. Search the Forums and find a couple of names that re-appear regularly as being legit and serious about their product[s]....contact them, ask lots of questions, and when you are totally satisfied....sign up for an intro course.

Just like you, at first it took me a while. In fact, my 1st check was from clickbank to the amount of $2.16

That was almost 10 years ago. Today, I earn a comfortable income solely online. Not Rich but well off compared to most.

Here is an update, looks like my ezine article has not been approved yet...but as of this morning I moved up in rank from #6 to #7. I hope the ezine approval bumps me up.

The good part is that #6 ranking actually shows my website without needing to scroll, so that is one benefit.

I also have just experienced my first $2 from a blog that I originally did for fun. Now that I know it can be done, I started making more blogs on topics that have a high CPC so hopefully adsense will pay me more $$

You were not alone in believing that making money online was a fairy tale.

Fortunately for me, I owned a car that I loved (still own it) so I built a site to show it off online.

At this point I didn't believe that I could make any money online, but once online I started wondering.

Once the site had a few pages I thought "what do I have to loose?" so I applied for AdSense.

To my surprise, I started making money right away, so from that point on I was hooked.

That's great stuff!

Definitely keep it up- I think Adsense is one of the easiest passive revenue streams to set up if you know what you're doing!

I will tell you to keep doing what you're doing and you'll see more money. Just rinse and repeat. Don't get carried away in GREED and other making money online opportunities at this point. Just do what you're doing. I've been in IM for 4 years and I will tell you the secret to IM SUCCESS - It's called "GAINING MOMENTUM" in 1 business idea THAT WORKS ALL THE TIME.

If you switch now to a new way of making money online, you'll suck badly because you've already making small amounts of money in very little time so RINSE & REPEAT and you'll improvise on it in a period of 6 - 12 months. Just be focused on that 1 little site. Don't take too much tension or information. If you need SERIOUS help, I am always here to guide you like many other warriors are.

Just do what you're doing coz what you're doing is "right".

I happened to me as well. I was well put off by all the clikbank products and all those dodgy sales pages people use. Because lets face they all have the word scam written all over the place even if they are 100% - i still dont understand why people on purpose make their products look like scam.
It was like that until i met my (now) mate Russell and he showed me how to be able to differ crap from what is actually good. And guess what?
I have made $450 dollars in less than 2 weeks!! Ave affiliate marketing! Ave HostGator!

I did something similar when I first started. I wrote an article and submitted it. Didn't think much of it. I made a CB sale the next day, but it was only for around $11 so I just kind of blew it off. I was thinking "all that for so little?" Well, 4 weeks later I logged into my CB account and saw another sale! From the same article (as I hadn't submitted any more)! That is when the light bulb went off that work I do today could pay me for years down the road. And that is just awesome. All from my first $11 sale.

Wow...well the post might incite feelings of resentment of crying over spilled milk...but hey, what's important is the lesson learned. While it's good to be wary and vigilant, it's always important to analyze things first.

Now the key to success would be to recognize what you did, and scale that up. You will be make three figures a day in no time.

It's not wasting your 10 years, it's that during those times, you weren't ready for the IM business; in fact, you admitted to be close-minded in this business. But now, you are starting to earn after 10 years and that you gave it a try. It's a learning process for us to give something a try; at least you have the time and opportunity to give the IM business a try and didn't really have this close concept of not having the idea to attempt or try anything that will help us earn some money.
Congratulations, you are now on the right track of your decision and keep up what you have been doing. You could only imagine how much you will be earning at present if you had made your decision in the IM business last 10 years?

I know the feeling, when I put up my first review site and made $200, I was ecstatic. Now moving into product creation, has me feeling the same way. Congrats and remember diligence pays off.

Took me to close my business that i had for 17 years before even looking at this - and only then it was in despair.

Congrats, I am in same boat, I was researching ways to make money online about 10 years ago and looked at im but went with ebay, now that I am a sucessful ebay powerseller I have shifted all my efforts to affiliate marketing, I have had great sucess in a very short time, I can only imagine how big my im business would be now if I would have started 10 years ago. All I can say is look forward not back at what could have been.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. Things seemed to slow down, I think because my ranking slipped from page 1 to page 7...not good.

I am taking the $$ and re-investing it into back links and articles, just like other posts suggested to keep re-investing back in.

I should have gotten involved in social media and seo at least 5 years prior to when I did. I just never gave it enough time. Do not feel bad. It happens to everyone at least once.

I can relate to your story. I was introduced to IM about 3 years ago when I attended a seminar on Internet Marketing. I was excited about the things I've learned but I put off starting an online business since I was busy with my 9-5 job. Presently, I still don't have an online business but I'm already researching and I'm planning to start one in a couple of weeks. This time I'm determined to act.

No one ever accomplished anything by saying "I can't". Good work!
