Hi guys

I have two websites up and running at the moment, one which averages around 300 unique vistors a day and one which i just got started which averages 50 visitors. I have been using facebook, twitter, ezine, digg and stumble upon to spread the word about my articles but I still dont think i am getting enough visitors and i dont think my click through rate is as high as it should be.

Are there any other useful ways to advertise your articles that will increase traffic?

Thanks in advance

Why not build backlinks to your social bookmarks. This will increase the value of those social bookmarks, which will in turn make your articles more valuable = more traffic.

What kind of topics are your writing about?

If the articles are appropriate, also consider submitting them
to mainstream media. Many magazines, newspapers,
radio stations, etc. have public websites where they will
run your materials and give you a decent link back at
    times.

Forums can help a lot with traffic. Target the big ones that have thousands of visits everyday and is related to your topic/niche.

    Or... Youtube.

I agree! Create a short but interesting video that is related to your article. Make sure to put in your article link to the video description and then post the video on as many video directories as possible.

Yes and the OP is apparently in the Beauty niche, that is good for videos and not too hard to do hopefully.

Well 1st of all just because you have 300 UV a day does not mean all or at least half of them is interested in your products/services. Remember that we are all individuals with different needs. One way to convert UV to your site is through your sales capture page. Try re-structuring it in the best possible way to attract a strong desire of the visitor to buy or subscribe to you. Also build a strong and supportive community relationship to your traffic and non-traffic alike by providing value to all.

You may also try Press Release submission sites, link building, and video marketing (Youtube, Vimeo etc.) Community forums are also best way to expand your traffic, earn brand reputation, build trust, confidence and convert sales day in and day out by building long lasting care, concern and support to everyone.

Instead of wearing yourself out dragging people to your articles, take your articles to the people: try to syndicate them to sites and newsletters/ezines with interested audiences. If done successfully, you'll receive pre-targeted referral-traffic and stronger backlinks (from those that are actually published on websites) that help with your own sites' SEO.

This excellent post by our very own Alexa Smith contains many useful pointers for crafting syndicatable articles.
