End Of The Web As We Know It (Ryan Deiss)

by steveshoemaker 22 replies
Any thoughts on this new report out by Ryan Deiss.

I can see what he is talking about with some of it.

But disagree about Google adwords they have been more than willing to support my campaigns and I'm not spending thousands there.

What are your thoughts?

Ryan seems to come out with these kind of pitches/products every four months.

It's a great formula that's as old as the hills and has worked since people have been buying stuff. It's likely to continue working in the future, and it obviously works well for Ryan because like I said he comes out with a new version every few months and always gets a lot of sales.

I'd say pay attention to what Ryan does, he's one of the sharpest guys out there - but unless your in his inner circle/mastermind (and I don't mean one he charges you for (if he has it), I mean one your invited to because your a player) , paying attention to what he SAYS isn't likely to be incredibly profitable for you.

    That's just my two cents.

I doubt you'll see that until after the Ryan Deiss Retires From IM.

Clever bit of marketing and good on him. does it very well IMO.

Anyways, why all the vitriol? The guy is out their doing what he does best... just as I and most of you are doing.

Seriously, are people jealous of his success? It's not as if someone is pointing a gun at you and forcing you to buy his stuff.

Talk about some small p3nis syndrome.

I have been hearing about this since a few days now, but I haven't read the report yet.
Actually, I think I'm going through some kind of squeeze page phobia, I just didn't want
to sign up to yet another list to download the report.

You don't have to like the message, or think he is right.

    But class is in session.

For anyone not making money, study marketers like Ryan, study his strategies and implement them yourself = money in the bank.

His membership program that he released a few years ago was basically my road-map to building my current business.

Ryan has good stuff and tests like a freak, but does anyone know why he said in the video that continuity programs will die?

how to PROPERLY READ the graph he used to "PROVE" the internet is dying

he used PERCENTAGES not ACTUAL NUMBERS to create his fear

yes, people are searching less as a PERCENT than back in 1998 BUT what he totally leaves out is the NUMBER of people on the web

so in the beginning 100,000 people searched and now 100,000,000 are searching.

so, is the web really dead? I am thinking "NO"

and more people are searching using their cell phones than ever before

people need to search for info. how they do it, with what do they do it, and how long they do it may change - but the searching will continue

He does a great job. I think the program he sells will help some people. He has a point that if you CONTINUE to buy a program that is more than a year old, you better take a moment and review what it is "selling" because things change quickly around here.

and lastly, as IMers we are on the cutting edge and looking for the new thing

my dad just bought his first iphone last month and my friend JUST joined facebook
not everyone is an early adopter

    magenta -

here is my take. I don't think continuity programs are dying per se. but I do think they may evolve.

    1. how many people out there are going to pony up 97 dollars a month?
    2. Can this info be found through other means? and for free or at least less money
    3. continuity takes a ton of time and resources and it just might not be a viable business model
    4. what are the rates of drop out? it may be higher than the "gurus" are publishing if they are publishing at all
    5. it was a big push for awhile but it may no longer be the flavor of the month as far as IM is concerned

Personally, I am not completely in agreement with him because I work for a magazine and that in some way is a continuity program. I sell subscriptions and people come back month after month for the info we publish

but if you join his program I am sure he will tell you all about it (hee hee)

I'm looking forward to the death of using "the death of..." as a marketing hook. As soon as Ryan has a new launch he declares the death of whatever his last launch was about. I don't know what his new product is about but come the next new shiny thing he comes out with, it will be the death of this one.

If you are already on his list you won't get it. I've had 2 free offers from him lately via other marketers, (never from Ryan) but you have to subscribe to get them. I subscribe
again, i then get a page saying i will get an email to confirm.....Nothing....no email, inbox or junk, obviously because i'm subscribed already. What's the answer to that?!

Step 1 create chaos with fear
Step 2 gain control over those who have bought into the fear
step 3. Sell product to those panicked with fear who have enough money
Step 4. calm the heard by making them feel safe
Step 5 gain ultimate control and make them drink the kool aid when too many people start to realize the truth, there was nothing to fear in the first place

I got off of his list a long time ago. I think he's just an annoying little turd.

He may be smart, rich and successful, but so are the creeps who
are ruining our (USA) economy. More turds who need to be flushed away.

The problem lies in the sheep who listen, follow and fork over their hard earned
cash to people like him. Some may make some cash (action takers),
      but most will not (dreamers).

But most of all folks, this is just the latest flavor-of-the-month product
he's probably pushing, and I'm sure he'll do fine with it.

Only the sheep will find out months down the road that that product isn't really
the be-all it was supposed to have been. It's his NEW ONE that has all the answers!

Wake up geniuses and get off the merry-go-round.

Here's a novel idea: research, read, learn, then think for yourself and do.

Maybe that's too old skool for you. That seems to be the problem with most
of you young'ns. The "I want it now, and I want someone to lead me by the hand" types.

Everything you need to know to succeed is out there. Do a little work and find it.
Ooops, did I say 'work'? That seems to be a dirty word to a lot people.

If you all just did that, maybe, just maybe, it will lead to the end of the Ryan Deiss'
of the world. And it will leave your inbox uncluttered.

Ryan Deiss is full of CRAP. I watched a number of his videos in the past and none of what he apparently 'tested' worked for me, I ended up wasting a lot of time in the end. I don't trust his mate Belcher either, he seems to be just as full of **** as Deiss.

He talks about testing testing testing all the time, but I very much doubt he reveals any real test results in any of his products.

VERY nice put there Mike. He will do well with it because there are so many idiots out there that fall for this kind of rubbish.

What really annoys me is that his clever and indirect marketing tactics that exist throughout the duration of the products themselves, will have you believe that it's your fault that you failed when the method in the end, inevitably does NOT work.

That's how he continues to get repeat custom, despite providing no value with lies and false information in his products.

I like how George Carlin put it. "You know why it's called the American Dream? Because you have to be asleep to believe it."

'Work' is the key to what really makes "Abracadabra" work much at all.

Ryan deiss is just another marketer, who had an idea.

The fact that people keep coming in here and producing these boring threads, means he did his job. To create controversy. That normally goes viral. So the fact that you are reading a silly thread like this means he did his job there.

There is no such thing as the end of the world, or the end of the web. Its just a catchy title.

I think I am waisting my breath so I will let you sit in here and ponder the undertones to Ryan messagess....but you will soon just work out he is a marketer trying to make money. ahhh arnt we all!!! lol

Death of continuity.....Better not tell magazines, newsletters and membership sites about this, they might close down.
Death of the web as we know it? Happens every day. A old method or idea dies, and from the death throes 10 new ones pop up.
Death of the Internet....I have a interesting take on this one but won't post it here. Lets just say a fractured internet is already happening.
Death of social media...yes, but understand social media is a buzzword like ajax, web 2.0 and like all buzzwords new ones will come in to replace them. Social media were forums and web communities pre Myspace. Now the megacorps are involved and soon the pendulum will swing again.
      Death of Keith Richards.....Never
      Death of death of strategies.....Never

It is funny that once you reach a certain point of popularity, you even have people inadvertently advertising for you though threads that get hundreds of views.

I like his videos, he makes good ones. The internet is changing, but slowly, just like it did from 2000 to 2010. The competition is growing since websites are very easy to make now.
