Google Uk Ranking dropped dramatically but Google.com OK

INTERNET MARKETING

My website has been ranking no3 on page 1 of Google.uk and Google.com. About 2 days ago my site dropped to page 39 on Google.uk and rose to no1 on Google.com. I have a PR of 3 and I have not been penalised as far as I can tell. Has Google made changes to its algorithm? What can I do to improve my UK ranking. I have a .org domain name. I have already made more references to the Uk on my site and plan to write articles about the UK. I will also increase my UK backlinks (most of my backlinks are US) and the site is hosted in the US.
I have another similar site which has not dropped in the UK.

Has anyone else with a UK website been affected?

I have a .co.uk site which is doing better in the ranking the past few days but it is also hosted in the uk.

I am only guessing here but maybe Google thinks that your site has to be relevant either to the US or to the UK not both so it decided your site was US relevant and your ranking went up on .com and down on .co.uk

I was told years ago that if you want a site to rank in the uk then host it in the uk.

Just kepp on building your backlinks
and things should settle down.
l had the same thing happen, with my keyword ranking
and my page ranking, one of my sites was page rank 6
then it drop to 4 and now back to 5,
hopefully things will settle down soon
